I am trying to delete a file in windows mobile 5.0 via the "run dialog". I was expecting that "del <filename>" would do the trick but that generates an errormessage saying that the file "del" could not be found. Can anybody advise me what syntax I need to use to delete files via the run dialog ?
WM5 / WM6 Classic and Professional RUN Dialog
(A little late reaction, but..)...
The 'RUN Dialog' does what is says!
Both in WM PocketPC / Windows OS PC we can run executables like;
beam.exe (strangly enough no shortcut for this *.exe with or without using TF3D).
ContactEditor.exe (idem).
DataDisconnect.exe (idem).
eT9MyWords.exe (idem).
FieldTest.exe (idem) .
*more shortcuts to nice *.exes which R 'missing' ah well...
Only on Windows PC we have that 'command' which is typed after Run (WindowsKey+R)!
Then after typing cmd/command and getting the MSDOS PROMPT you/we/I could use the command ;
DEL
-=[ WM5 / WM6 Classic and Professional 'RUN Dialog' ]=-
On the main Today screen of a WM Pocket PC (Windows Mobile Professional or Classic) you can tap and hold down the ‘Action’ key while tapping and holding the stylus on the clock shown on the nav bar, then hold and slide to run, then release and tap run.
!!! The ‘Action’ key is usually the center of the D-Pad or CTRL if you are using the former SIP emulator;

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
(It's just a picture, I don't have this 'skin', I am still looking for it though ).
When you release the ‘Action’ key a small popup menu will appear,
and you can select the ‘Run’ option which will display a small dialog. Within this dialog you can enter the path to any executable, as well as any required command line parameters.
!!! As an additional tip, did you know that if you tap and hold without the ‘Action’ key being pressed, a different popup menu will appear? This one allowing you to select between an analogue ~ and digital clock being displayed on the navbar!

Good evening,
I cant write english in a good way, so have fun at reading^^
This is my solution to add the Envelope/letter do the messaging-tab.
As you can see the background of the letter in the messaging tab AND in the mail-tab were changed.

}
Included in "Files1" (at Downloads)
Cheated solution for Bug2 (Long messages will be displayed over the envelope) - Included in "Files2" (at Downloads)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Go with an explorer to the windows directory and copy the files
hh_email_background.png
hh_email_envelope_down.png
hh_email_envelope_up.png
HTCHomeSettings.xml
to your storage card or anywhere else - THIS will be your backup, IF it doesnt work.
2. Copy the new files on your device. On the device you should copy all of the files in the windows-directory. You will be asked to overwrite the files - If you done task 1 its ok.
3. Restart Manila/Touchflo2D:
Settings -> Home -> System;
Uncheck "TouchFlo" -> Click OK;
Open the Home-Settings a second time -> System
Check "TouchFlo" -> Click OK -> Close Settings
4. There is no 4th Task, youre finished =)
BUGS:
1. If you scroll between your sms the envelope (not the letter) will slide too.
(Its the cause of replacing the line with the letter in the background)
2. Long messages will be displayed over the envelope (UNLIKE the mail-tab; the mails will be displayed correctly there)
(I made a cheated solution, with a white envelope - you can see it in the second picture)
Please notify that the home tab etc. will be changed too!
DOWNLOAD:
(I also uploaded my own created background/wallpaper) (Please dont host the files anywhre else and let the advertisement on uploaded.to opened 10 seconds):
It is VERY impossible to backup your files! (INSTRUCTIONS - Task1)
Files1 (with normal envelope + original files): http://ul.to/uh1way
Files2 (with white envelope + original files): http://ul.to/6t7fyt
Wallpaper: http://ul.to/qa18b1
PS: If you change things, like bugs etc. please post it here
Greetings
Hoamer
will this work in htc home, not manila?
Hm, i dont know. If htc-home is also based on xml-file it is possible - you can try it, but it is VERY impossible to backup your files - then you can try anything^^
If it works please post it here
EDIT: I searched for HTC-Home; no, this will not work with HTC-Home
Greetings
Hoamer
Hi guyz. I am no programmer but i came across this little tool and thought might share it with you guyz. I am just an End User and the complete credit to this App goes to the Admin of T2 Remote Touch
Okie herez the steps itz very simple :-
1) Download T2 Remote Touch Delta v2.0
2) Connect your Phone through Active Sync and Run the MSI file and Install T2 Remote Touch.
3) Next you will get and option to Install the App in the Phone with Message "Install T2 Remote Touch using the default Installation Directory". If you want to install the app in Phone Memory Click yes Else Select no and Select your Storage Card (Recommended).

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
4) Now go to your phone and complete the setup.
5) COme back to your desktop and Finish the Setup.
6) You will see a window with 2 ip Addresses one to control through Internet and one through local WiFi or WLAN. Note down watever u need and press any key to continue.
7) Next Step is to configure the Server Right click the Remote Touch Server Icon in the SysTray and click Setup. These setup the port no. and the password for your server. If your server is behind a router then make sure to allow the port no. u set for port forwarding.
8) All done now start the app in your mobile. Most probably you will get a Authentication Failed, because the default settings might not work for everyone. Go to Menu > Setup. Put in there the IP Address, Port and Password you have and all done you can now control your PC from your mobile after connection.
9) Use Scroll to move through the desktop and tap for left click. I hope u can figure out the rest of it.
This mini guide is to show you how to get your Focus as a USB drive and with a properly icon. The default Windows icon for a mobile player was very childish (like from xp), mine looks like this:

In addition to the files supported by ZUNE, what other file types can be transferred from PC to WP7 device?

None because those files are not exposed (other partition?)
Error creating New Folder
I keep getting:
The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected.
Zune is closed.
Cables are tight.

No, only things exposed by the phone like photos and videos.

Do not attempt this if you do not know what you are doing, it could leave your phone unusable! - I am not responsible for your mistakes
If you like the SmartKey how it is, this is not for you, it will render the smartkey app useless until you change the settings back!
With that out of the way...
I listen to a lot of music via my phone (driving, work, etc.) I wanted the SmartKey to skip to the next track. As I see it, that's not possible with the smartkey app, just basic app launching.. (someone please correct me if I'm wrong!)
This should work with a number of system functions, called by key presses, but I'll focus on the one I wanted. See the bottom of this post for others..
You need ROOT! I did all of the following via the very excellent "root explorer", but can be done in the shell, adb, or your favourite app that allows such things as editing /system files.
Let's Go!
locate and backup the following file: (root explorer does auto-backup on edit/save)
Code:
/system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl
edit this /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl file
half way down you will see :
Code:
[B]key 194 SMARTKEY[/B]
place a # in front of this line (thus removing the SMARTKEY app functionality from this key press. Also gives us an easy way to undo.)
under the SMARTKEY line, add a new line with the same keybind "key 194" followed by the function required, in my case "MEDIA_NEXT":
Code:
#key 194 SMARTKEY
key 194 MEDIA_NEXT
Save and close the file
Restart phone
Done
The bonus is that a double click will move to next album :victory:
---------------------
To Revert Back
edit the file again
remove the line you added
remove the hash, leaving the file as it was:
Code:
key 194 SMARTKEY
(or replace it with the backup!)
Restart the phone
Done---------------------
There are a number of useful media functions that can be mapped:
Code:
MEDIA_PLAY
MEDIA_PAUSE
MEDIA_FAST_FORWARD
MEDIA_NEXT
MEDIA_STOP
MEDIA_PREVIOUS
MEDIA_REWIND
VOLUME_MUTE
---------------------
There are other non-media functions, all listed in the file you've been editing.. Play with it, if you're brave. Just remember not to wipe out the whole file or none of you buttons will work!
It should also work with other Honor 7 variants, but I cannot guarantee that the key-bind number is the same (or even if it's the same file!)
Cheers.
