Hope you all remember the dropped calls issue we were facing with radio roms until 3.07. I too have faced it before, but no such instance has happened after upgrading to radio roms 3.14 and above. But not I once again started facing the dropped calls issue with WM 6.5 especially with builds 23089 and 28002(not sure with other builds, and never had problem with 6.1). I've tried both Onyx and AGS roms, both were giving me the same prob. Is anyone else encountering the same problem or has it got something to do with my mobile device?

Only bad cooks will include anything else other than the OS. There are certain ROMs that change your bootup splash screen with their own logo, which is very stupid.
By the way, dropped calls have nothing to do with any ROM. It is a problem with your provider. For example, AT&T recently had this problem due to new iPhone users clogging up the network.
So you really didn't solve anything

But, as I have mentioned above, I face the problem only with radio roms 3.07 or below, then, how can it be an issue with the service provider...

Hi,
I just wanted to tell you about a problem i had with my device.
I had the Khanx wm6.1 vanilla ROM for the last month.
Two days ago I flashed my device with udk R1.
everything was working fine.
I decided to "downgrade" my device to the Khanx old version.
after the flash everything is working good EXCEPT for the phone sounds.
I can dial (or receive) and make one phone call. After that, I can make phone calls but can't hear the tone (waiting,busy,etc...). The people on the other side can't hear me too.
Everytime I press the END button or the send button I can't hear any sounds whatsoever.
I flashed my device again with Khanx's ROM and nothing worked.
I messed with every single setup that I know on the device but nothing worked.
Currently, I got the udk R1 and I'm waiting for the new Khanx ROM (I just LOVE his ROMs).
Anyhow, is there anything that you can think of that I didn't do or done in a wrong way? did somebody encountered that same problem before?
Have a great day
Jam
Check Radio Version, Hard Reset
Latest WM6.1 roms are supposed to work only with the latest radio 1.59.42.15
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426203
Please make sure what currently runs for you, since these can be flashed independetly but sometimes are bundled.
Incompatibilities after downgrading are likely and discussed in above mentioned thread.
Two things come to mind:
1. Try a hard reset after flashing
2. also downgrade radio for example to Murata for the time beeing on downgraded rom
just wanted to say that I used Murata radio and it solved the problem.
sqeeza - thanks for you help.
Hi Guys
If I receive or make a call then the speaker and mic goes dead, I have to do a soft reset to get it going again.
I've got this strange problem, I've flashed different custom roms and nearly all the radio roms but the problem is still there.
I have tried changing settings and nearly everything I could find to remedy this but no luck, please help.
hmm, thats a nasty thing, have you tried an official rom from htc? or the murrata radio or the newest radio?
ive had the same problem before with some roms, but then it was fixed when i updated the radio version..
im running on phamquam rom v44 now with radio 1.59.44.02 and combination thats working fine!
your cam and gps working correcly btw?
Hi Thanks for your reply
Everything else is fine, just this problem.
I've tried Radio Murata and the latest rom but still problem exists.
I'm running the phamquam v44 rom as well with radio 1.58.21.23, but i've been through all the radios I could find including the one you're running but the problem is still there.
I can only make or take only one call and then the speakers and mic go dead until I soft reset, i can run the music player but no sound.
This is really doing my head in.
By the way radio Murata totally wipes out the battery on my device within hours i have to recharge plus when I receive a call or make one it starts making a buzzing sound out of the speakers, so i had to soft reset and flash another radio.
FIXED:
I've managed to fix it by flashing it with a really old rom but when I upgrade it back to the newest rom versions I have the same problem again, so I guess i'll have to stick to the old roms for now.
hmm, thats weird, i dont have that much knowledge but maybe it is different hardware in polaris versions?
Just to let you know I have upgraded to the latest official rom and that works fine and the funny thing is my neighbour brought me his friend's Kaiser with exactly the same problem, so I tried a custom rom on it and that didn't work, then flashed the Official rom and that worked fine.
Any suggestions!
i,ve searched and there was an old thread that came out for his forum, but its months old and i couldnt find any solution in that thread, so i was wondering if anyone had the same problem as me?
sometimes my phone would drop called juz like that, sometimes 5 secs into the conversation, the other person on the line cant hear me, but i can hear her, this worsens as i,m driving and on the phone at the same time, it disconnects like mad, anyone got this problem solved, mind sharing ur solution with me? thanks a lot in advance
on a side note, i flashed a dutty rom recently, i think its the 3.6 version, do i have to flash the old rom back so that my phone is valid for warranty? meaning does the dutty rom void my warranty?

you will need to flash back to original Rom, or warranty will most likely be voided.
As for loss of signal sometimes this occurs from the actual signal lost from towers it may not be a phone problem, seeing as it happens more when you are driving.
Before sending back why not Hard reset first or even upgrade to Duttys 3.9 Rom
Another thing would be to flash a different radio I have seen on this site that it helps with signal loss
Check the wikis they will give you step by step instruction if you desire to go back to original Rom
Now i tried searching and found 1 thread to search but to no avail.
I have a HD2 ROM 1.43 from Voda. It freezes, alot always on contact information and i have to turn it off. everytime. its frequent as well like every day at some point.
is this normal at all or sould i get it replaced? i cant update the rom either cos htc doesnt recognise it? or flash a new rom because there is no hardSPL.
Thanks for the help
Have you read the threads about SMS problems? They are strongly tied to contact issues, just as you described, and they are known issues the HTC are (hopefully) working on as we speak!

In my experience your freezing issue is not common when accessing contacts. Only only SMS a few times a weeks, so this is not and has not been an issue. Perhaps I'm one of the lucky ones.
Perhaps you could update your ROM to 1.48 or 1.61. I updated from 1.48, my shipping ROM to 1.61 and while I don't really see a difference, both fast and stable, it may prove useful for you.
how can i flash a new ROM to my hd2 if I can't hardspl my device? htc doesn't recognise my s/n
Hey guys, please take no notice of my username, I am NOT a guru! Flashed WP7 to my UK HD2 yesterday. The ROM is incredibly stable and works perfectly in every way except that the phone function is crippled and the OS will not make or receive calls or text messages. I flashed the radio supplied with the package like everyone else, followed the instructions carefully (flashed my WM 6.5 many many times) and have searched the forums before posting. I even tried flashing other compatible Radios. Not quite sure where to go from here as I'm not a dev. Seems like MrMagicMushroom has been having the same kind of problem:
No replies. Can anyone guide me through the safe way to roll back to WM6.5? WP7 works great, wifi included but I think all that flashing disabled the phone function, can't make calls or texts.
I've been through flashing back to a stock ROM and starting over but the phone function is not working at all now. I have a 16GB SanDisk mircoSD card which read perfectly in WP7 even though it showed slightly less memory capacity than WM 6.5 did when I flashed it. Bottom line, I need help!! I read somewhere on the forum my microsd needs reformatting completely. Was this ROM safe for European (specifically UK) HD2 owners? Any ideas/help would be welcome!
N.B: All other OS functions (aside from the aformentioned phone function issue and the expected activation issues) work fine.
Love the work you guys do here btw. Hobbyists like myself really appreciate it.
It seems I have the same problem. My phone has been disabled as I am unable to make calls but everything else works fine. WP7 and back to 6.5 and back again, no phone. It would beep 3 times and hang up when I tried to make a call. Anyone experience this?

Having the exact same problem, beeping 3 times and all. I'm pissed off because everything else is working fine.
I'd try to re-flash the radio with a known working one and then re-installing wm6.5
The version of radio you currently have installed would help as well.
Thanks for the reply rbrookstx, I am running the latest energy rom with a 2.15.50.14 radio. I usually install the radio after the OS but I have nothing to lose so I will give your suggestion a try, thanks again.

I've tried that. I'm still running WP7 on my HD2 but I'm just using it for the novelty as a music player and testing out other functions since I have another phone to use in the meantime. The radio on it at the moment is the one included in the LEO70 WP7 package (Leo 2.15.50.14). I've even tried a T-Mobile specific radio I found (T-Mobile LEORadio_2_10_50_08_2) but I wasn't 100% sure it was compatible for UK or USA T-Mobile users. Either way this is strange since all my flashes have been smooth even though I've had this radio issue before before I sorted it out. I'll try your recommendation.
