Hi, i have setup hotmail on my HD2, but every time i send an email i get the error message...
"Cannot recognize one or more recipients or the address is not valid, Would you like to send anyway?"
The email is valid, but i get this no matter what i enter, and sometimes the email will arrive, sometimes not.
???
Sense mail front end screws up username by removing the end of the address, set up in wm and all ok, another bug :/

In Mobile 2003 etc when composing an email you could select the mail account that you were sending it from and alter it to any of the SMTP accounts you had set up, text message or Outlook to synch with your desktop or server account.
You selected it using an ‘accounts’ drop down in the message itself.
I have noticed that this feature does not seem to exist in Mobile 5.0…is this something else that has been removed from this ‘improved’ OS?
Is there any way to get this functionality back?
Cheers
Stef
Looks like you have to do it by choosing the account first, then composing a new message.
They might have done this to stop people accidentally sending messages from the wrong email address
yes but no but
fair but the issue I have is all my email from 3 accounts all go into my 'outlook' account on my home PC but hold the account details within them.
I then synch against this account but if I want to reply to them I have to wait to do it from home to get my sending details right...
This is different to the previous version of PPC and a step back for me!
thats totally right.
why should one accidentally change the smtp server?
I think its very inconvenient if you cant change the sender once you have started to compose the message...
microsoft pls change that...
thx
Hi,
I have my Gmail email forwarding to another POP email that is pulled down into my main email account on my PPC (Imate JasJar). What I'd like to do is set it up so that when I receive an email from someone who sent their message to my Gmail account I can send my response back to them showing a "from" address of my Gmail addy, not my POP addy.
I was able to do this on my Tmobile sidekick, I think by just setting up another email account that it never checked that had my normal POP settings but displayed a "from" address of my choosing. Then when composing a reply it allowed me to choose which addy I was using to send from.
I tried setting up a 2nd email account on my JasJar using my Gmail pop settings, but when I went to send an email from it also started to download 400-500 of my emails from my Gmail account.
There's got to be a way to do this, right?
Well, you could change the "outgoing mail" settings in your second pop account by choosing to use different outgoing settings, and entering your G-Mail settings.
That way you'd only have one pop account shown, which would receive mail from your second account only but send through your G-Mail account...
Hmm... That might work pretty out pretty well, I'm going to give it a test run today. Thanks fo the help.
when I reply to an email I get a mail back saying invalid recipient, although when I copy and paste the mail address into a new mail it sends okay. any one got any ideas, cheers
Has anyone been able to setup their hotmail address in the email? Everytime I get "Invalid Username or Password", but I know it's right.
I assume it is because of the non-standard type of email account- I had the same problem with live. It actually told me in a warning message, not sure why yours doesnt. It said something about non-premium email accounts may not set up and will complain about an incorrect password.
If you have your settings, instead of using the automatic setup choose the manual setup.
Just forward all your hotmail emails to gmail. That's what I did.
Any reason for this? Each time it says message not sent, error in synch or not connected to the network etc...yet I can download and view messages fine. I am trying to email someone a photo stored on my phone but it just won't send.

You need to enter the smtp address for your network not who your email is with. So for me I'm with o2, so I use smtp.o2.co.uk
Solved, you need to tick the outgoing mail requires authentification box for Yahoo Mail to work.
