Soft Reset Question - HD2 General

Is there a way to soft reset the HD2 without removing the battery cover; a button combination?
Thanks.

There are several options to do that:
1. HD Tweak. This has a seperate HD soft reset icon
2. XDA Developers ShutDown progam
3. Memmaid
4. Advanced Config

Sorry. I should have said "native to the HD2".

SoftReset
A simple solution is to install Softreset and put a link on the homescreen.

Without installing external CABs?
You can't.

hi
maby i get you completly wrong, but when i hold the power buton for some time there will be a popup menu where i can choose to 'switch off' the device. if i do that and afterwards press the power buton again, the device will bootup just like after a soft reset. i hope this helps mad

Reset
Wel then you'll have to do it using the little red button inside the back cover.

p.s.If that doesn't work then take out the battery and put it back in and try soft resetting again.

Sounds like a soft reset to me. Perfect! I really don't want to constantly be opening the battery cover. I like to do a soft reset every morning with my TyTN II; plan to do the same with the HD2.

XDA Exec - lightbulb button

Is this supposed to do anything?
If you have the "power off after..." option set, then you can switch it back on again with that button. Other than that, I'm not sure it has a purpose.
Cheers,
Steve.

I've got my Exec setup to switch off the screen backlight after a short delay when on battery. Pressing the lightbulb button switches the backlight on again.
If you don't set your exec to switch off the backlight, then I can see why this button won't be massively useful for you.
Read the threads on how to assign apps to the lightbulb button, to make it useful.

Got that set - but the button doesn't do anything for me. I'll try the reg hack version that's in this thread and see if it then works.

Automatic Key Lock?

Is there a way to enable automatic key lock? I know you can put a security code lock but that is not what I am refering to. On the today screen you can press the lock icon "device unlocked" to lock the screen on the phone. I am looking for an automatic version of this function.
come on i know there has to be a solution to this

Hi,
On my MDA Vario, under Settings, System then Power, under advance you can set the device to turn off, i.e. still working, but can not be unlocked by tapping, you have to press the power button.
Hope it helps.

There's a program here made for Windows Mobile Smartphone. You could try and see if it works on the Wizard. If it does let us know.

Hi,
Has anybody found a solution please ?
Automatic keylock does not work on my HTC cruise.
Also, has anyone found a better solution than the original one to unlock the device since it is hard to see something under the sun to unluck it while screen is in the dark, isn't it ?
Thanks in advance.
Didier.

[Q] Is there any other way to go from Android to WinMo?

No. The phone needs to reboot in order to load Windows which is no longer running when you run Android.
Thanks for the quick answer. I know the phone has to reboot, I meant if there is any way to trigger the reboot other than pressing the reset button under the battery cover.
For example, on WinMo there are many aplications that allow you to soft reset, is there any app that do the same thing on Android?
Thank you.
Yeah, just search the market for reboot applications.
But did you know that you can just hold down the end-call button instead?
