I'm coming from a Blackberry to a Samsung Moment and this is something I really do miss. I had BerryBuzz on the BB and it was by far one of the best apps for sms, email, missed call, etc. With all the devolopers out there and with their no-how and brilliant minds can't someone come up with an app similiar to this for the Moment? We owners and I'm sure I am not the only Moment owner out there with this complaint are already slighted because we don't have an LED light on top of the phone to begin with but on the Moment all we have it the home, menu and back keys that light up and even those don't alert you of incoming, and sms's but it would be very nice indeed if someone could come up with a application that would work on the Moment.
Will there ever be or is there one already in devolopment for the the Samsung Moment? I have installed several that have this feature with the LED and vibrating but of course they don't work on the Moment and I really would like to have something to make the home, menu and back keys to light up on missed calls, sms's and emails and have different colors and different vibrating patterns for each of those.
PLEASE!!!!!!! Anyone???
If there is one please let me know. I sure would be a happy droider!

Don't you just hate snoopers. I mean people leaning over on the bus and peering over your shoulder at your text messages as you access your text inbox on your jasjar.
Wouldn't it be nice to just turn that auto preview off on text and email messages someway, somehow?
People, be careful in London, those snoopers may be more interested in your JJ/Exec/MDA/VPA/M5000 then your messages!
Hey, London's not that bad!
tell u what jah, I'm more worried about my messages than my jasjar, although someone would have to be very very brave to try anything with me,
anyway I'm actually always in the car with it, I would like some real super duper voice activation software, I know of all the standard ones but I found on my xda fonix was the best, by the wa any ideas how to turn the autopreview of messages off by the way
Anyone who snoops is risking a fat lip from me.
Nobody has any interest in the content of your messages.
They are only considering how many of them its going to take to hold you down while they mug you.
I usually give them full eye contact and ask solidly if they'd mind f** off.
It usually does the trick.
Also beware of the honey trap snooper gaff. ie. attractive lady snoops as a means to get into a conversation. She then starts asking questions about you, your life, where you live, what you do etc.
I've known people who've lost everything to gangs in this way.
And no, I am not exaggerating.
Where is the auto preview? Can someone post a screenshot? I've never used my universal for messages, so I've no idea how it looks. I'll see if anything can be done about it if it's possible.

Isn't it just a case of turning off "display" in the notification settings for New SMS messages? I set it up for my CAR profile on PocketZenPhone and it works a treat, so it should just show the notification icon, but NOT display the message bubble.

Haha!!
hi guys, ok I've taken some time to catch up with the thread that I posted on snoopers and auto preview.
I think there's been a bit of confusion on the definition of auto preview. let me explain
When you access your messages be it text messages, mms or email, you will notice that when you go to inbox, the messages are displayed showing you the sender, directly underneath the sender you will see the message contents without actually entering the message.
I suppose its exactly like outlook where there is an option to show you the message directly underneath the subject line and not in a separate preview window.
I basically want to turn this option off as by default wm 05 shows you the message without opening it.
Help appreciated
Cheers guys
Hello all,
I was wondering if there is any way to make a text message alert play more then once like a reminder does
the option is there but it is greyed out.
Can it be enabled somehow?
thanks in advance!
You can always edit the sound file, and just copy the info and make it into a longer file. If you don't know how to do this, contact me, and I'll do it for you.
I didnt know you can do that - thank you for the info
My wife <its her phone =) > wants it to repeat like a reminder incase she is out of the room for a long period of time - she uses it for work
You should check out SPB Phone suite. It has a feature that you can set to remind you of missed calls, texts, voicemails, emails etc... at any given interval.. So for example, you can set it to remind you every 10 min if you have a missed whatever ...
i bought spb phone suite just for the alerts options. it works perfectly for me... plus the inclusion of multiple profiles for home, work, loud, etc etc are quite nice. really quick to switch between them all too. plus it's network button on the today creen makes turning on/off wifi and bluetooth even faster.
Yeah, it's a nice program. SPB makes good software.
When i receive an new email through activesync push (exchange 2007) i have enabled the option to display the message on screen and sound notification but the screen doesn't turn on automatically like when you receive a new SMS so basically its almoste impossible know when you receive a new email.
Can i change this somehow to act like when an SMS is received and turn on the screen ?
thank you
so basically there isn't a way for that ?
Yeah, also noticed that.
Would be nice to have a solution for that.
@Work i have my phone on table and sound/vibrate disabled.
So the only way to see a message is when screen turns on.
Ok, there's the LED, but in a bright room it can take hours till u notice that.
I googled this issue a lot, no luck.
I just get sound and vibrate, no screen message.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who find this odd
I was hoping it was fixed/added on WM6 but its not
Strange that no one has notice or even make a query about this in Microsoft, i find it completely stupid not to act the same way as an SMS/MMS since nowadays i use more the email than texting.
Lets hope for someone to do something about this if its possible
this is killing me!
any hard code developer can do something about this ?? it must be a way to trigger the same procedure that SMS uses in order to turn on the screen or something.
please please for this!

You'd think that Pocket MSN would also do the same wouldn't you? But it doesn't
this is by far the stupidest thing for the WM. I really can even begin to think why they did this, who is the genius behind this idea ?!?
Hell I think its a good idea. I'd hate my screen to come on everytime I got an email! I get a lot of email so that would majorly suck!
Yesbut why not just have it as a selectable option, that would make more sense!
exactly, at least put an option for it! email should be treated like SMS nowadays. yould you prefer creamhackered not to turn on the screen when you reseive an SMS ?
Hi all,
My problem seems pretty simple but I can't seem to find the right answer/software.
I have 2 phones, one for work and a personal one which is a G1. When I go into the office I take my G1 with me but I leave it in my bag on silent as I can be away from my desk a lot and carrying 2 phones around is a pain. This leads to missed calls and so. I've tried searching for something that can help but there are so many programs and posts that are more to do with missed call notification light colours and things like that and it makes it difficult to find anything relevant to what I want. Also, I don't really want to use call forwarding if I can help it.
So, does anyone know of a program which can SMS details of a missed call to another phone and also forward SMSs that I receive to another phone? I'd simply like a program that I could run whenever I also put my phone on silent.
Thanks for your time in advance

what is the other phone
Hey guys! I'm only capable of taking advantage of the great coding done here - too much of a n00b for any of my own, so I'm hoping you guys might be able to help out.
I'll pitch in $5 for it, maybe some others might join me.
Here's the back story: I need to receive phone calls at all hours of the day/night. I have security guards who report to me, and other personnel who work in other timezones who need to call. So I can't shut off the phone or turn down the volume. However, I don't need to receive alerts about receiving texts and emails during the night.
Here's the request: I need a program that automatically changes the alerts (both buzzing and sounds) at night (according to a set programmable schedule) so the phone rings and alarms ring, but emails and texts are silent.
I am running NRG's awesome 'Energy (Cookie 2.0)' on a Tilt2 (now converted to a Touch Pro 2).
Thanks!
Try PocketX PhotoContacts PRO
You can silence all tones - and enable ring for specific phone numbers ...
I believe that should help
http://www.pocketx.net/products/photocontactspro_ppc/index.html
iff urr running a newer nrg theme with sence 2.5 u sbould just be able to switch individual notifactions off in the settings tab easly
Its more than $5 but if you take a look at Phone Alarm - www.pocketmax.net that does all you want and more. I use it for a similar purpose over night. It can switch profiles based on lots of factors.
I think there is a similar free but far more limited program somewhere in the general software forum.
