My ipaq 6915 source languages are the English .
stop at 0%.
I want to be supposed to be the model do not right ,
Moreover I use Sable_RUU.exe to promote RADIO.NBF, to 1% left wrongly, looks at the picture at Appendix .
modified/pached hpRUU.exe?
i would like to know if somebody here already have patched or modified the original hpRUU.exe for the ipaq hw69xx series in order to allow uploading a different ROM-image(e.g different language etc.) to the device.
as far as i know it would be enough to disable the pre-check and jump directly to the start of the flashing routine itself.
i tried In each method this already by myself, but it seems it isn't as easy as i thought.
any help is appreciated...
In the appendix has HP iPAQ hw6900 Mobile Messenger Series ROM Update
BIOS from that link:

Creating A WM6 ROM For A WM5 Device - Any pointers?

Hi guys,
I'm looking to create a WM6 ROM for a device which only has WM5 ROMs available for it. I understand the basic principles in ROM cooking but I'm not sure where I'd start with this one.
Anyone have any pointers?
Thanks in advance!
that forum is pointer, nab.
You have to extract the XIP first. I tried creating one for my Dell Axim X51 (mid) but never finished it. Aslong as you know how to extract the XIP from your device and then create a rom you should be alright lol.
I dont know that much tbh. No one bothers with questions like this on this forum dunno why its just the way it is I guess. Would be nice for a tutorial on how to create Roms etc. but i suppose you will get people who dont have a clue trying to do it.
Kurt
Thanks rumble.
Yeah I've been doing a bit of looking round and you're right. Extract XIP and replace with WM6.1 XIP, being careful not to loose any oem files in the process. That's basically how it seems to go anyway

WM 6.5 kernel

Dear Pals,
Can anyone send me a link for wm 6.5 kernel, i want to build clean new rom for viva, on the latest core.
thx
I think you'r a newbie in rom cooking
If you want to developp a clean rom with the wm6.5 kernel, you need to download PlateformBuilder ( and not PlaterformRebuilder) and obtains the microsoft wm6.5 SDK with the kernel, and you need to have the htc viva BSP !
So, if you'are a goood and very good hacker, you can hack the htc engineer servers and still the Htc VIVA BSP in order to developp a new clean rom :=)
Good Luck
so man its not possilbe to have pure kernel of wm 6.5! then i should start on one of these in the forum. thx man
Nobody on this forum have already develop a rom with the " standart method", because even if oy have the kernel source, you need to program and compile it for the device specifications, and for this, you need the BSP.
The kernel is the NK file....
You can cook a rom, yes, but no develop it !
Aha, I dont need the source code, i want the system files man..
Ok!
I think you don't understand.
All the cooked rom have the Windows CE Kernel.
The NK.exe is located in the XIP.
But NK.exe is device specifique.
So, if you take a wm6.5 kernel ( the file nk.exe) builded for an XXXXX phone, you couldn't use it for another phone !
Understand ?
Kind help
Pls advise after extracting the rom, preparing the cabs i wanna add to the rom, someone pls guide me with the steps and tools.
thx..

Any Senior Chef who is kind enough.....kitchen for Omnia Pro B7610....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have searched a lot everywhere but couldn't find any good kitchen for Omnia II or Omnia pro b7610. On every forum there are numerous threads asking for custom roms but nobody is willing to share, so it is our request to all senior chefs to kindly make one good kitchen for us so that we can cook our own roms instead of begging here or there.
Please provide us a good illustrated tutorial for the same, what tools are required, can we use any of the kitchen already available here or can somebody please modify any of it to make it compatible with Omnia Pro b7610. Also if we want to add manila 2.5 to the rom, what we have to do, as b7610 is wvga device, can rhodium manila can be used directly without porting or do we have to make some changes to make it work.
I can help in any way possible but we need somebody senior who can get us started.
Hoping for the best
Regards,
Inder
Ask somebody who knows how to use OSBuilder to adapt it to your phone: with a few batch files it should work perfectly.
anybody, Please, who can make b7610 omnia pro compatible OSBuilder and we also need a tutorial for the same
Airxtreme,,,,,please help us.........I know you can

Sorry but that requires way too much work because it's not just the kitchen but it's reconstructing the original ROM that is a mess because as you probably know that phone has a multilanguage ROM that requires additional work to get working (dumping the fat, extracting all the multilanguage archives, unpacking the archives and putting back all the missing SYS and localized OEM packages, etc.).
For the kitchen I can tell you from what I remember that the final flash ROM format for that phone is NB0, a template NB0 can be obtained by using o2tool -mst_to_nb0 on the original MST file. To convert the nb0 to NB (that OSBuilder can work with) o2tool -nb0split must be used (and all the files created must be kept as copy for building), then in the OSBuilder build cmd file you insert the new partitions with osnbtool -c in the old NB file and run o2tool -nb0build to obtain the final NB0 file.
thanks airxtreme for the start....lets hope somebody else is willing to do it, no multilanguage rom is required, English only will do just fine. Till then I can start experimenting with OSBuilder

The multilanguage partition includes everything, even english so you can't have any working ROM if you don't get those files out.
Have you looked at:

Yeah been there, infact regularly checking any updated info regarding this particular device. Thanks mach2003 for providing the link, lot of good info there.

Searching nk.exe for wm6.5(.x)

Hi all,
i have just bought on ebay an Opal as spare-spare device (and to play with...since i like cooking )
I have cooked for Raphael, Rhodium and Kaiser...and all of them have a native 6.5 nk.exe.
I want to ask if someone wants to share the nk.exe they use with their wm6.5(.x) roms, since i never edited one.
My experiments will lead to a rom that i will publish here on Xda.
I want to hear also suggestions...since i am starting from 0 with this device (i had an Elf 3 years ago...but i remember few things about OMAP processors), i don't know if packages from latest Mega rom will be ok or slow down the device (on Kaiser they work very well...but processor has a double speed).
I want to say an anticipated "thank you" to who will help me
Hi Monfro! it's nice to know that someone new is interested in this device. I too have tried many times to find the 6.5 kernel for opal, but unfortunately it seems that nobody has ever created. I still cook my rom with kernel 6.1 and with oskitchen, but I have many problems... I unfortunately do not have the skills to change the 6.1 kernel... I know that ervius kitchen has a way to modify the kernels, but I don't know how it works...

Thank you for your quick reply.
I will try too to use nk.exe extracted from wm6.1 rom.
From what i can see your roms looks very good...and from what i read they are among the best for this device.
In a few days i will have the Opal in my hands and i will start to play
I myself find more funny to play with older devices like Kaiser and Opal than newer...because with new WM builds and new packages from other devices they get a 2nd new life.
I will try to look also in the Ervius kitchen the nk.exe patcher...but oskitchen is really more friendly
you can start with it:

Thank you.
I already found that thread...and tryed to download the package today...but 4shared was down and i didn't succeed.
I hoped to find a nk.exe modified for wm6.5
I will try in the next days.
I already used Ervius Kitchen, but never tryed the hybrid option with nk.exe from 6.1 and the 6.5 sys.
Domani torno in Italia per 3 settimane...lavorerò da casa col mio pc...penso di riuscire a giocare un pò costruendo rom per l'Opal
if you need a tester call me
