[HELP NEEDED] Auto data disconnection for Manila services(weather, twitter, etc) - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hello everyone!
I tried searching the forum for a variety of ways but couldnt find anything related, so I'm starting a new topic. Recently I've upgraded to WM6.5 with new Manila 2.1. As we all know, by a simple registry hack we can force the device to disconnect the data connection after some ammount of idle time. It works perfectly in most cases. But in the new Manila 2.1 and as I've heard in Manila 2.5 also, some of the Manila services, especially weather and twitter, do not apply to this hack and somehow manage to sustain the data connection. Is there anything we can do about it? My point is that I like the weather and twitter auto update feature and I certainly can affoard it, but a sustained connection does sgnifficantly drain the battery.
Thanks in advance! If it was discussed already, maybe someone could give me a hint where to look for it?

Who ate my cookie? (PIE cookies keep disappearing - help!)

I'm having a strange problem with the cookies in PIE. They all disappear after a few minutes and I have to log in again. I'll try to give all necessary information:
i-mate JASJAM
Windows Mobile 6 Professional
ROM version: 3.30.2.1 WWE (by LVSW I believe)
I'm a fairly experienced WM user, so I tried most basic things like changing the cookies folder location, messing with the registry, insuring cookies are enabled (lol) and uninstalling certain programs. And of course I already tried searching and the Wiki.
Do I have to upgrade to another ROM? I like this one so much.
Thanks.
Oh come on people don't leave me like this.. I searched and only found posts with the same problem and yet no solutions were given. I looked it up in the Wiki and there's nothing. I consider this a serious problem since I use the internet alot using Webxcope.com (which relies on cookies to save the display settings).
Even if I was stupid enough to miss a solution in my search, give me the link!
Another thing: I see the files in the cookies folder, and they all disappear after a certain amount of time.
Patience my friend - maybe those on-line at present understand the problem but don't know the answer.
It is generally good practice to wait at least a day before bumping your thread
So consider this a free bump
Mike
It has been more than 24 hours, so this is a BUMP.
please post more info.
some cookies are designed to expire after a couple of mins. such as banking sites etc. for security reasons
What kind of more info do you need?
Anyway, ALL cookies are like this, including ones that didn't delete themselves after a few minutes on my good ol' Universal. Even Gmail and XDA-Developers cookies.

M2d on Omnia

HI all,
I have got an question. I have been trying to get M2d working properly on my Omnia. I seem to be able to run it but with some issues. Here is the post I had posted earlier on:
"First of all I really like the things we can do with M2d, but I am having some problems with my Omnia. It seems like not all the tabs are stretched out enough to fit the whole screen. For example if i open the Weather tab. At the bottom (above the icons) I can see the weather for the coming days. When i would go to the Messaging tab then, i will still see that weather for the coming days. It could be usefull, but it SHOULDNT be there. At the other tabs it is just very ugly. Could anyone help me sort this out?
I really like this software, but with this thing going on, I rather use SPB Mobile Plus."
Ive installed the 22 beta2 version of M2d. I hope anyone could help me out with this.
Thanks in advance

You seem to be new to the forums. Thank you for joining XDA-Developers.
Please take a minute to go over the Rules and Regulations of the forum.
For questions, please use the search function in the site or simply Google for an answer. More than likely, your question has probably been answered before and the answer is floating around somewhere in the site. That being said, unless you are contributing to the site with either skins, roms, ports, new applications, programs, games, etc., please do not open new threads. internet update frequency in manila

Can anyone tell me how often, or under what circumstances manila updates the time from the internet? sorry if previously posted but a forum search came back with no results.
Also, is it possible to edit via registry tweak or similar the frequency with which it updates?

How do I stop ugly time change - Sense UI?

Hi
I'm sure I've seen this somewhere months ago and have spent the last few hours searching but can't find the answer anywhere.
I've just updated my rom to a stock 6.5 and overall I really like it. Whenever the home screen refreshes (ie, weather animation etc plays) the time shown is 1 hour 2 minutes prior to the current time and then updates. Is there any reg fix or other to stop this from happening and just have the current time displayed?
In an unrelated matter, I'm also trying to find out the Sense version number that I have. In 6.1 I just went to TouchFlo and it would give the applicable information, but I can't seem to find this screen in 6.5.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide me with any useful links, fixes, cabs and info in regards to this.

Excellent - thank you very much!
I actually like the animation lol

The new Forum GUI doesn't work on HD2

First of all: I like this forum, it is really a good place to find and exchange informations. Congratulations to the team!
But the new layout/GUI of the forum sucks! At least, when you try to do it with your mobile device.
Usually I go with my HD2 in the forum. Normally through a Post, which I have received through the RSS Feed. If I'm interested in the thread, I subscribe to it.
But with the new layout it is not possible to click and open the thread tools. Just nothing happens.
And especially for a forum which is about mobile devices, this is an absolute NoGO!
Some technical details - I use
- HTC HD2
- StockROM 1.66.407.1
- Opera Mobile 10
- CHT 1.8
Would be really good, if anyone could find the bug.

Hi,
when i use my HD2 with Wifi, i can read the board. It needs some time to load, but it is possible.
But when i'm on the way and try to load it over GPRS or UMTS (if available), it loads only some little parts and then stops. So i can maybe read the first one or two postings of a thread.
With the "old" layout all was fine and easy. So i think, the new layout is not really mobile-campatible.
For the users it should be possible to change the layout between the currently and a mobile-friendly modus.
Greetings
Hardy

I actually contacted the Owners/Mods about this, the reply was, in a nutshell, "A mobile version is on the list, but a lot of stuff going on right now, so it is not a priority" ...
I am sure they will get to it at some point, but I did see somewhere a way to switch back to the old view ... hmmm will have to look for that again ...
EDIT: under http://forum.xda-developers.com/profile.php?do=editoptions , the very last option choose the custom skin ... it is the old version ...
Hmm. I can't recall having any issues with the new skin on opera 9.7.
Running also great here on Opera 9.7 .
I don't read it much on my HD2, mostly on the PC. One thing I hate though is the threads I've replied in don't show up as so when there's new post even though there's suppose to be a little down arrow in the thread icon. The icon does show if there are no new post though.
