Facebook for windows mobile. - HD2 General

I've been using Facebook on my HD2 but it seems pretty naff compared to the iphone app. Photos take ages to load if at all.
I've just tried the web version via Opera and everything works. My question is can I use the big Facebook logo that the windows mobile app uses but have it launch the web page version.
Ive saved it as a bookmark and added it to mu homescreen but it just shows a thumbnail of the page. I would like it to use the Facebook logo.

Internet loading facebook incompletely

It's strange problem and I tried searching. Basically when I use internet explorer to access facebook it only loads half the facebook pages no matter which part of facebook I open, eg inbox, notifications etc
It only loads till the point where the status bar appears in the end and everything is white at the bottom of it and you can only see half the pages?
Someone please help. I dont want to use Opera for fb. Thanks.

Facebook probs on Android browser?

My fone bookmarks wont access my facebook profile anymore. Any address starting with www.facebook.com Keeps clicking over to
x.facebook.com or something and saying Page can't be found, showing underlined text that I think should be links but aren't to the mobile and standard site...
Do I have a virus or something?
will the page load at all? because x.facebook.com is the android optimized page. if it loads, log in, then scroll down to the bottom of the page. where there is 2 small links that you can click,
1 is the facebook mobile format
2 is the real standard facebook.
Ah. Weird that it never did that before. Have had a G1 since last year and a magic for about 6 wks and not done that before, I've always been able to browse the full site.
When I get the page, I can see log in, Standard and mobile underlined but nothing o the page works...
Hate Facebook apps as they never let me do what i want/need to do.
This facebook app looks like a winner, not sure if it is available yet though:

I have been having the same issue.
It only happens on profile pages, the rest of Facebook works fine. Same issue on G1 using JF 1.51 and Dude's cupcake. Now using MyTouch 3G same results.
I guess its a Facebook issue rather than an Android one.
I normally use the full site option for Facebook since I hate that iphone wrapper or any of the mobile sires (wish I could permanenty disable the loading of mobile versions of sites) but since us facebook issue started the full site link is disabled on profiles.

Mobile web links

I receive my Gmails via push on my HD and this includes facebook etc
When i clicked on a link in an email before, it would open up m.facebook.com even though the link was showing www.facebook.com/blahblahblah
Now however, it opens the full webpage which takes twice as long and i cant do a thing with it when it opens.
Is there anyway to set mobile email links or opera to open the mobile web version?? When i click opera on its own and open m.facebook.com it works fine.
Any suggestions??
Thanks,
Matt

Facebook opens mobile site instead of touch

I had this issue on my myTouch as well but when I get an email from facebook saying someone has commented on a post I made or something similar and I click it I get sent to the ugly mobile site and it just loads the live feed not the actual post. I just wanted to know if there was any fix for this or if it could load the touch site instead (or even better the app) so I don't have to wait to go to my desktop or look though posts in the app since the notifications don't work on the Nexus One yet.
Yeah mine does it sporadically. I haven't used it for a couple of days but maybe it has to be in the current processes list/ list of current applications for it to recognise it, else it opens the browser. Just a suggestion.
The whole notification thing really irritates me. You'd think since it comes with the phone, they would at least check that it works ¬¬
Well the web address sent to you in your email is from facebook.com and it is a http link to the full web site, facebook doesn't know that you're viewing this from your phone. gmail/email on the phone is going to treat these links the same, there's nothing built into the formatting or platform to make these 'special'.
I would recommend you disable email notifications on facebook, and configure notifications within the facebook app. This should get you the behavior you desire.
Ok so since i've fixed my facebook notification issue I actually hate the facebook app. Seriously, what app shows a notification which you have to open via an external link? I thought that was the point of the app? The facebook mobile website is atrocious, and i'd actually prefer to open it in web view rather than mobile view, since that's the point of a smartphone.
I hate to bring it up but even the iPhone did a better job. Almost everything could be done through the app. Almost.
that aint the phones fault its the app developers lol

Click to collapse
To anyone having some problems, the best workaround I can find is using Dolphin Browser and changing the User Agent to iPhone. This will automatically pull up touch.facebook.com

Default facebook

Is there any way to change the default facebook app/url. In People, if i select someone and tap one of their updates in the "updates and events" section it will jump to m.facebook.com to show me more detail.
Can i change it so that instead it goes to the android facebook app or to touch.facebook.com which i think is a much nicer mobile version of facebook.
Thanks
I wonder if it has anything to do with application defaults...wether or not the android facebook app has that type of OS integration. It obv does when wanting to post a picture from your photo gallery, but since people is an HTC specific app IDK if there is a way around this.
However, I would love to be told different as its annoying to keep on having to launch browser when there is a perfectly good facebook app laying around on the phone.
Precisely. Especially because the facebook application doesnt display event details or request and then navigates you to the horrible mobile facebook when touch.facebook.com can handle it all perfectly and look pretty decent too.
