Internet Not Working - T-Mobile UK - HD2 General

Hey,
Im new to xda & windows mobile.
Im having a little problem. My phone arrived this morning from MobilePhonesDirect, with a T-Mobile contract sim, I have got signal, fluctuating between one bar of HSDPA to almost full G.
When I try to connect to the internet, reload weather etc, it brings up an error.
It keeps saying 'Cannot Connect' - Dialed: Cannot Connect for an unknown reason.
Anyone help?
Thanks

got mine this morning and it's working fine, never had a problem with T-Mo initial setup before either.
Option 1 Try running the network setup wizard again (or hard reset).
Option 2 It might be trying to connect to 3G but failing (you say it's fluctuating between the two). Try somewhere with a solid 3G signal or else switch to GSM band only in phone settings.
Option 3 mobilefaildirect or T-mobile set your phone up wrong, if neither of the above work, try giving T-Mo a call. It might be something local.

mobilefaildirect set it up wrong!
Spoke to t-mobile who have said that its still in new registration phase.
I even gave mobilephonesdirect a PAC code which they have failed to give to t-mobile.

got mine from mobilephonesdirect yesterday and my internet hasn't disconnected once, even though my signal is crap here so I assume its just something wrong with your account

Imate II...First Tmobile and Now Cingular

Hi all,
I've been a long time user of the Pocket PC Phone. I picked up an Unlocked (or so I thought) IMate II about 6 months ago and inserted my Tmobile chip in it and everything worked great.
Recently I went over to Cingular, signed up and walked away with my simm chips. Here's the problem I'm having:
1) No matter where I go, the phone has a Triangle (indicating Roaming) and it says T-Mobile in the Dialer. If I go to options, click on Preferred Networks, it has a ton of networks, the first three are Cingular and they are checked. If I click OK on this dialog, I receive the error message "Unable to save your changes to the network. Try changing settings later, or disconnect data connection and try again. Retry | Cancel.
2) My second problem is no matter what I put in for GPRS Connection it will not connect. I have tried isp.cingular (APN) and ISPDA.MYCINGULARGPRS.COM (username), cingular1 (password) and I have tried others to. One starts with WIXDC001* and that doesn't work.
I am hopeful that someone can help me here. I am unsure if these issues are related.
Thank you in advance,
Well depending on the area you are in most of Cingular's GSM towers are on 850 mhz. The xda II doesn't cover that frequency. There are a handful of states that still have 900 mhz coverage for them but not many. That's what makes you roam to T-Mobile, since they are the only provider on that frequency in your area.

CANNOT FIND SERVER in 3g

Hey,
I'm on vodafone PAYG in the UK on my Touch HD. Recently I've sometimes had trouble loading pages in opera (basically trouble with my actual internet connection) after trying for a minute or so to load, I get a CANNOT LOAD PAGE error sn am told I may have problems with my connection. Origionally I put it down to network problems, but recently I tried a soft reset after seeing this message, and loe and behold, it worked after that. Doesn't seem like network in this case.
Has anyone else had trouble like this? where their connection looks like it is on, but delivers errors?
thanks,
BANE
Hi
the problem i have is that i am on orange PAYG in the Uk and my phone does not even try to connect to the 3G service at all and not even Edge service it all ways stays on the GPRS srevice.
does any know if Orange have a 3G service and it avable to the PAYG users ? or is it that i have an old sim card and does not sport 3G srevice ?

Mobile network state: disconnected

Got an x10 today off ebay, unlocked after browsing this forum, by htc-code, network shows carrier on home screen, signal shows 4 bars, yet in status it says mobile network state: disconnected, this results in me not being able to get any calls at all, not even a simple balance check, the sim card is pay&go whilst I sort it out but as far as I'm concerned it isn't a data plan issue or anything like that.
Just wondered whether this is an issue anyone knows anything about or whether it's been imei blocked or whether I should just get in touch with tesco.
possibly important info:
Tesco mobile
phone was locked to orange, now unlocked
firmware 1.6
baseband 1.1.25
kernel 2.6.29-rel semc-android semc #2
signal strength -85dbm 14asu
mobile network type utms
service state in service
mobile network state disconnected
Being a pay as you go, the SIM might need activating? Ring your Telco and see what they say.
The sim came out of another phone I've been using for the past 3 years I'll give them a call later to set up a data plan anyway.
Got hold of Tesco, they couldn't solve it, imei isn't blocked or anything, tried and Orange simcard (the network it was originally on) and that works and makes calls, my other sim doesn't make or recieve calls, so it looks like it hasn't been unlocked fully. I need to get hold of htc-code and try to figure out a solution, that is, when they're online. I'll post back with an outcome.
both my x10a and my nexus1 say the same thing, mobile network state disconnected, and my phones work great. i am on wifi now, but when i turn off wifi my phone has no issues with cellular data.
your phone must not be unlocked yet or you might not have entered your apn correctly. make sure the apn is correct for your network and try again
i just turned off wifi and waited for the 3g symbol to reappear and now my mobile network state reads connected. so this indicates if you are attached to the network for data only.
i would still make sure that you manually configure your networks apn settings and then try to make a call. i think i had an issue when i had flashed to a different firmware and had not entered my carriers info.
Thanks for the reply mate, I'll try that seeing as ferraripassion/sudarshan is offline I'll let you know how it goes.
Sort of fixed, manually entering APN puts up 3g symbol and changes mobile network state to connected, even on wap internet, but I still can't make or receive calls on this sim card :/
Thought I'd check the phone on checkmend this morning, although the phone does still work on an orange sim card, checkmend says
Ever blocked UK: This item has been blocked during its lifetime by one or more UK network(s).
IMEI Currently blocked: This item is currently blocked on one or more networks. It may still work on some networks.

So, with that, does anyone have any advice on IMEI unblocking/people to contact and getting my cash back?
Write to matey boy on eBay and get money back. Because clearly, he's sold a non-working phone that's probably been nicked.

Phone has Randomly gone into NO SERVICE

my phone hasnt gotten any signal for the last 2 days. i dont know what happened, the phone just says NO SERVICE. I know its not my T-Mobile account since my sim card works perfectly on another phone. this phone has never been dropped, and its only about 3-4 wees old. It started when I was eating lunch in my school's cafeteria (which is underground) when i noticed i had no service and a "g" every once in a while (theres usually atleast 2 bars and always 3g since my school is downtown). i thought nothing of it since it was underground, but my signal never came back.
what should i do? i flashed the newest radio earlier and now i dont even get the "g" anymore.
it's running virtous 0.8.1 with S-OFF. i also tried my cyanogenmod backup but there was no difference.
im going to try to return everything back to stock and see if it works. did this happen to anyone else? if so how did you fix it?
does anyone have any information that could help?
Probably a long shot, but have you tried enabling and then disabling airplane mode?
Idk if this'll work, but hey its worth a try call *#*#4636#*#* and change your settings, it should restart your network. Hopefully.

Did you test the SIM in another phone? Did you try enabling 2G networks only to determine if this is related to 3G/4G? Did you call tmo to see if there are network issues in your area?
What is your city location?

i have tried those things, when i do *#*#4636#*#*, it shows that i have a signal but it doesnt show on the status bar or that im connected to tmobile. when i go to select network in settings, it says my sim card wont allow me to connect to this network, which makes no sense since its a tmobile sim card and was working fine 2 days ago.
i live in Buffalo, NY. there is no network outage here since i tried my sim in another phone and it worked fine

All bets are off until you restore the stock rom with OTA update. Post back once you've returned it to factory because tbh, nobody from T-Mobile can or will help you either if your phone is all jacked up.

This is a network issue, its not your rom, no worries. When registration fails or network not allowed happens, tmo needs to send an engineer to the local towers to fix it up or file a trouble ticket. Is it happening within your home area, such as a 7 - 10 mile radius - or wider.
Take my word for it, you need to call

I have the same problem, and I'm in the LA area. Called, T-Mo and they said there werent any outages at the time.
Tried enable/disable airplane mode. no go.
Tried enabling only 2g mode. no go.
I don't have another phone with me to try my sim card in right now, so will try that later (T-mo rep said to use the new sim card).
I'm running stock on my g2. Will update when I get it fixed.
I'm having the same issues. went back to the stock ROM. went through several different ROMs still, the same.
Someone PLEASE help.
Sim card try another, seriously, happend to me once and a friend... went back to stock and everything.
G2 doesn't like sim cards....
Same thing happened to me. Card worked in my old G1 but not my G2...it was less than 30 days so they replaced it. This is worrying me though...I hope it's not a common issue that can just happen any time.

S7 SM-G930V can't connect to Verizon Mobile Data

Hi everyone, so I recently purchased an S7 SM-G930V and I'm having some problems with the mobile data connection and was hoping that someone on here might be able to help me out. I've been heavily researching and trying everything I can find online for 2 weeks now trying to figure out why I cannot get this phone to connect to mobile data and I'm about to give up and use it for target practice.
So here's the story:
I bought the phone from a seller on Ebay (I know I know) and it showed up in flawless condition externally and SEEMED to work perfectly. Upon receipt of the phone, I noticed that my current simcard wouldn't fit so I took the phone to verizon to get the nano sim and have it activated. The guy put the sim in and booted it up but after about 15 min the phone was still saying that it was "activating" so (being in a hurry) I told him that I'd just let it activate and be on my way. About an hour later my phone chimed saying that activation was complete but I noticed that it was showing H+R for a data connection which I believe meant I was roaming? Anyway I didn't think much of it because I was in a pretty rural spot in Alaska and the service was spotty.
Now here is where the problems started. Once I got home I noticed that the phone was not picking up any 4G LTE data at all and was bouncing back and forth between 3g and 1x but wasn't actually connecting to them, just finding them (greyed out). I rebooted the phone to see if maybe it just needed to update the local towers or something but it still would not connect to any mobile data at all so I took it back to the verizon store and they swapped the sim for a new one. Now, the phone will not activate AT ALL. The guy tried 3 different sim cards and nothing. It shows fully connected (5 signal bars) for voice but just cycles randomly between 3g and 1x data and will not connect to them let alone even find 4g lte service. When it connects to the towers it shows Verizon Wireless as the connected carrier but since it can't connect to data, it won't activate. The guy finally told me to call tech support and after about 3 hours on the phone with them, they pretty much told me they don't know what's wrong and to get a new phone.
So I decided to hit the internet and try out every option I could find before just sending the phone back. However, after countless hours of tinkering with the phone including rooting the phone, updating the firmware, factory resetting multiple times, clearing cache, disabling the cell radio and changing settings in build.prop, default.prop, apns_config.xml etc etc and getting nowhere I am stuck. I was really hoping that this was just a software issue or APN/modem/radio band etc issue that I could fix but it's looking like it might be a hardware problem or it's way above my skill set.
TL;DR
Verizon Galaxy S7 will not connect to any Verizon Mobile Data Network and therefor will not activate but it will connect to data while roaming? Any and all suggestions, help or advice is appreciated! Even if it's just to tell me that the hardware is faulty and I need to replace the phone. I just need some opinions from the pros if possible. Thanks guys/gals.
