I've tried a couple different ROMs and all seem to wake the phone on a incoming text messages. Anyway to stop the phone from turning on when a text message is received?

Have you tried HD Tweak and disabling 'Wake Up on New SMS'?

Still wakes on sms. Thanks for trying though...
You can try TouchLockPro http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444215
The phone still turns on but the buttons stay locked, so no danger of making an unwanted call or whatever.

I see your using a Leo rom. I've used a number of these and do not get this issue. When you tried using HD Tweak, did you soft reset device afterwards?

Ok...I know he is sick right now and is working on another updated version, so we may need to wait till the updated release is uploaded if he agrees to add the fix. We should both make the request on XannyTech's ROM development thread.

Nope, no problem here. Using Dutty's 2.3 (v2). Did you try a soft reset. Works wonders sometimes.

had the same problem with some ROMs (Duttys 1.9, 2.0, 2.1)
never found the real cause of it, but it disappeared with Duttys 2.2 and 2.3
hope that helps...
It seems to cause bugs with SMS delivery (as per other threads), and I don't like it anyway.
BSB tweaks doesn't seem to do anything however...
I'm using a custom 6.5.5 ROM that came with BSB tweaks pre-installed.

No problem mate. Hope it helps
Now my phone has stopped auto-locking...
That's a separate issue. Go to Start and Lock from there. It will work after that.
When that happens, you also can't open emails from the mail tab by clicking it. It bounces, as if it's about to open, but just doesn't. The above fix resolves both these issues.
My phone still auto locks... I have been using this to disable HTC messaging since my Topaz days.... I hate HTC messaging... getting back msg sent notifications is a godsend

Ah thanks.
I sort of figured this out myself after soft resetting my phone about 5 times.
: /
I have an HTC Ozone that I flashed from WM6.1 to WM6.5 using the official ROM that was released.
Before I flashed to WM6.5, I had put PHM RegEdit on my Ozone, and did the DISABLE SMS SENT MESSAGE mod.
After I flashed to 6.5, the Message Sent Notification popped up after I sent a text, so I went back in with PHM, and low and behold, the mod is still the same. I tried changing it back to 0 (Default), and instead of just keeping it on, it started popping up 2 Message Sent Notifications. So, I tried setting it to 2, and nothing, just the regular Notification. And now it's set at 1, which is supposed to turn it off, but it keeps popping up.
Did I eff up something in the registry when I flashed to 6.5? Is there some way to fix this so I can turn off the stupid notification? Or will this hack not work with 6.5?

I've done it and it works. It was created by ookba, the genius who gave us the custom 6.5 ROM.
Sorry to say you guys, but neither SKTools nor the Hack worked.
I'm still getting the Message Sent Notification.
HEY COOLPOETE!
Anyway, thanks for trying guys. I think it has something to do with the OFFICIAL 6.5 UPDATE, because that's what I used.
Somebody on HowardForums said it's some Eff-Up in the Official ROM. And it's driving me nuts I can't shut it off.
I just got my HTC Ozone from vzw and it already comes with the 6.5 rom preinstalled. I tried using the dummy " htcmessage.exe" and overwritten successfully and after that I was unable receive SMS and others didn't receive mine so I had to do a hard reset and wipe the device clean. idk if it actually works or not but it did not work for me mine so I had to do a hard reset and wipe the device clean. idk if it actually works or not but it did not work for me any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi all,
Updated to Stock ROM 3.14 and now my txt message converstions don't show in either converstation mode or traditional i.e when i tap 'reply' the previous messages are not showing.
Thiis was always sporadic in 1.66 (sometimes they show sometimes they don't, seemed to depend how you entered into the message client)
Any ideas?
I suggest you do a hard reset as with a official ROM or a custom ROM it is always good to do a hard reset after you flash just to be double sure e erything in the ROM was set correctly. Sometimes Win Mo needs a sweft kick in the a$$ lol.

To be honest I really don't know if SPB Backup will backup you rCookies Home Tab settings or not as I have nevery used SPB Backup. But it is worth a try but just incase take and make a hand writtin list of what you have on your Cookies Home Tab and what settings you are using for it so you can set it back up like you had it. I only use Microsoft My Phone as it backes up whent I really need backed up and I do the rest the old fahion way as it keeps me well aquanted with how to use my HD2.

Ah man, i hard reset and tested the messaging again and it works fine. But when i restore the problem returns so it backed up the original bug!
I'm gonna have to start over, 3 hours i spent today playing with settings and finding my away around the new cookie monster editor
I hope you are right in that i should of just hard reset after the rom upgrade. I spose now I'm gonna have to test the messaging is still working after i change every setting as i go... a wasted evening... spose i could do it when at work tomorrow heee heee!
HOOORAR! It was this patch causing the grief!
first post on this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=640841&highlight=message&page=4
I'd already done the hard reset but my spb backup saved cookie monster and everything else so all cool
problem is now, i have the sent message notification problem again! Don't spose you have a fix for that? The above thread is all i could find on it and the original fix wont work for me as the .exe is incompatible with newer versions.

Do you mean it is giving you a notification that it sent the text message everytime you send a message?.....
There is a check box in the settings to turn this off but for the life of me I can not find it right now, sorry man.

if you check that thread i posted it explains you can't turn it off even when it's unchecked!
I don't get why there isn't more workarounds for this, or at least, why i can't locate any threads apart from that one

Try using alternative dialer like dialer 1/ touchpal dialer
What if you try a new ROM... A faster one. And you can also do an MTD partition to give you more space for apps.

hi ,
just thought about flashing a new rom for example CyanogenMod. but does it help?
Yes it helps. These instances will be extremely rare on the latest cm. Also power button does not reject call so you can press the power button twice to reactivate the touch.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA
