SMS TXT from PC - Is There An App For this - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hi all
Relatively new to this, so please excuse my ignorance. I have used Nolia phones beofre, and their PC software has an app that let's you send SMS messages from a desktop PC interface, via the phone (as long as the phone is connected to the PC by way of Bluetooth or cable).
Is there anything similar for Win Mobile?
I have a Diamond which I have just flashed with 6.5.1 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=553844

Got the best experiences with Efficasoft Mobile Express (sorry, no link at the moment) - you can handle all textmessages on desktop-pc: write, read, send, copy, delete - what ever you want. All that via ActivSync..
Use Google and enjoy

Sending sms from pc but through xda2

Waiting for my XDA2 I am using a girlfriend's Samsung p400. We will not discuss what it does not have ... but it has one neat feature:
The bundled software enables you to generate sms on your PC and sends it through the Mobile phone. Now this is great because
*You can use qwerty keys & not fiddly mobile ph keypad
*It is sent immediately
*Your no sent for replies
*Your recipients think you really smart at generating sms
*Internet sms sucks
Does this feature exist for the XDA2?
Please tell me it does and I will happily give the p400 back!
Check this software for SMS Managment with PC, it is freeeeee ...:

Best regards,,,
Microsoft Remote Display Control
Using Microsoft Remote Display Control, you can control a Pocket PC using a window on your desktop PC. You can see the Pocket PC's screen in a window on your desktop PC. And your keystrokes and mouse clicks on that window are sent to the Pocket PC. So you can do more than just sending SMS from your desktop PC.
Looking forward to try it
Thank you!
And there is an add-on for the outlook that O2 provides (it works great in Ireland but don't know in other countries) that you can send an SMS to anyone in your contacts. No need for mobile/XDA, nothing...ahh and it's free !
And here is a link, it's called "Desktop Text":
http://web.o2.ie/portal/business/enhanced_business_solutions/desktop_text/
If you have access to your pc do a search on google for "free sms" there are a bunch of sites that give free sms through the pc on the web.

Hmm nice language option there.... The screenshots look like they come from a hybrid SP Studio (free)/Jeyo Mobile Companion program.
SP Studio is Chinese but if you can find it in English its free and works well. The only problems are that you need to run a program on the xda 2 when you want to start using it so it connects and it doesnt support sms messages longer than 160 characters. The makers of SP Studio then went on to make "version 2" but renamed it to Jeyo Mobile Companion 1.0 available at www.jeyo.com. Its based on the same program but all of the limitations are gone and its properly translated. However its not free. Ive bought a copy myself and it works great, however steer clear of the Outlook version they make as its still very buggy for most users. Ive used a few sms managent programs and Jeyo is my favourite not only because of the send from pc feature you are looking for, but it can backup and restore all the sms messages on your phone cleanly and easily.

Can I Sync My XDA SMS Inbox with Outlook on My Laptop?

Hi,
I am a newbie to this site. I spend alot of my days at my computer and recieve many SMS's throughout the day. It is a bit awkward to have to write the SMS messages with my XDA sitting in its cradle. Is there some sort of cool app where I can write the SMS on my latptop and have the XDA sync and send automatically. I searched the net and found a program called SMS2MAIL but it does not really automate the process, anything else out there?
Thanks,
Danny

Try Jeyo Mobile Companion
As far as I know the closest thing to what you want is Jeyo Mobile Companion. Follow this link for a review: While I haven't tried it myself the initial comments look good.
Software Not Ready Yet
Hey,
Thanks for the suggestion and purchased and tried the software and it would not work on my laptopn and hung my XDA. It is still in Beta stage for sure and their support team has not resolved the issue. Saw other posts on their website from others experiencing the same problem.
In theory, if they could get it working, this is the application I am looking for, I'll keep you posted,
Danny
MTUX Remote, u could write sms from your laptop & send thru your XDA.
Summary: View& Control your PPC on your desktop.
View your Pocket PC from your desktop and Control it by using keyboard and mouse.
Hope this help.
MTUX Remote Works good
Thanks,
This App works like a charm, there is a delay between the device and the laptop but i can totally live with that.
Thanks for the suggestion,
Danny
Another Jeyo...
Hi!
I have used Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook
https://developer.handango.com/Plat...Type=2&catalog=0&sectionId=0&productId=121875
It installed and worked fine for a few days... than I could not open Outlook anymore (that was very annoying) and I disinstalled it...
Since I really liked the application I would try again... if anyone knows why it might not work or stop working... help!

Where can we get this MTUX Remote?
:?: How could we have the MTUX Software, i really need it, please help.
I tried the MTUX Remote, it is only for sending sms from desktop? Anybody know how to synchronize sms data (to keep & to save important message) from XDA II to desktop? Any software for this?
jeyo has a long way to go yet I believe.
-1.0.1 only sync for inbox no sync for sent, drafts etc.
-major problem with restoring the backup. it disabled sms functionality!
Could you explain more detail about "disabled sms functionality"? After restoring back up it disabled the sms function?
I mean that when accessing the Inbox you did not have the SMS option. You could not send or receive messages. If you go to Accounts there was no option for enabling the SMS.
Ok, tu finikas; i will try then. so the one things i should avoid is not to restrore the back up. Anyway, how do you handle this problem?
i had to rebuild i-mate as it was new!
Have you tried the Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook? is this the same product? I just download & try the Jeyo Mobile Companion, the problem is when the Active Sycn is disconnect the sms were gone too. How to copy or import the sms from the mobile/XDA to the pc?

Sending SMS messages using computer?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any programs that would let me simply just send sms messages via the computer so i can type them using my keyboard?
I experimented with pocket controller, but its too bulky and slow and just emulates the screen, all i need is a simple sms message sender.
Check the Jeyo software:
Jeyo Mobile Companion
Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook
SMS cool from Aim Productions lets you send sms from your pc.. it should be out soon if it not already.

I'trying to use Jeyo Mobile Extender with Outlook2003 but after the installation I can't see any change on my Outllok toolbar... :-(

Seeing as you're on Vodafone you may want to check with them. They have created a little plugin for Outlook - in the UK anyway - that allows you to send SMS's from your PC and either have replies sent to your PC or phone. Its free - in the UK - until the end of the year and I presume will be standard SMS cost after that.
Its called Vodafone text centre which you should be able to find on www.vodafone.co.uk, sorry I don't have the link on me.
Pocket controller I use at the office and home, brilliant I think it is.
Quick google later, Linky
Will have to give it a try later
Sending SMS messages using computer
Try this program, Dr Neils SMS Utils, its free and you may donate to support Dr.Neils efforts.
You need to connect your PPC with Active Sync and the DNSMS utils will fetch all your sms inbox . You can use the same interface to send them too. Nice utility.
The only problem it will look for contacts in outlook. if your contacts are not synched with outlook then you would have to type the phone number as well.
if you have installation problems try downloading and installing the .Net Framework. from Microsoft website.
post your feedback to help others too.

yah you have to right click on the top tool bar and select sms for it to show.. something else i did as well to make it appear but forgot w
hat. i'm pretty sure its included in the readme which is there for a reason.
I think Jeyo is crap. The software is buggy, doesn't work for me and also doesn't receive SMS stored in subfolders. The developers know about this issue but haven't corrected it for months now. In my opinion, it's just a bad software.
so what would you recommend is better? also heres a firefox extension to send sms through google, i think it only works in the US and UK.
http://toolbar.google.com/firefox/extensions/sendtophone/
Jeyo mobile extender works fine for me with one exception:
it won't read the address book (fully patched Outlook xp)
Sends and receives OK if you manually type numbers in but once I hit the adress book or "to:" button, outlook becomes unuseable.
I think it is a security issue where mobile extender wishes to access the address book. Normallyy a window will appear and ask for permission, however with jeyo Mobile Extender this doesn't happen.
Buggy buggy, time to uninstall unless anyone has experienced similar and has a work around?

Send + Recieve SMS on PC?..

Hi guys, i am just wondering if there is any good software which lets you send and receive text msgs via my laptop or pc while the phone is connected with bluetooth or usb cable?
or does outlook somehow let you do it?
or pretty much any cool diamond management software.?
thanks.
ryan
I use Jeyo Mobile Companion, and it pretty much does what you're looking for.
It also lets you backup/restore Messages,Contacts and Call History.
It is not a freeware, and you can get the trial from here:
www.jeyo.com
Yeah I second using the Jeyo software- I have been doing so on devices running WM2003 up to the most recent. Good for backing up SMSs too.
I have always had one issue or another with this type of software which is why I prefer to use something like this: http://www.mymobiler.com/
It is like a Remote Desktop Connection to your phone and gives you full mouse/keyboard support as well as Copy & Paste from/to PC/Phone.
I use Efficasoft Mobile Express (http://www.efficasoft.com). I don't know what Jeyo is like (sounds quite cool) but I can tell you I love this app.
It works, is easy to use, has outlook-style pop-ups when a new text arrives and the best bit - if you like to flash new ROMs from time to time then you don't need to reinstall it - next time you run the PC app with your phone sync'd, it just reinstalls the phone component and carries on - no soft reset or stuff like that required.
You can also manage your contacts with it too (albeit somewhat basic and nothing like Outlook but quick and easy).
It's not free, but it's cheap (got my from handango.com)
** Updated **
Since reading this thread I've installed MyMobiler to try it out - is cool and useful for other stuff but it's too slow and pedestrian for writing text with - the predictive text gets in the way so I now use Efficasoft Mobile Express for sending text from my PC, and MyMobiler for playing other apps on my diamond from my PC.

Thanks but your version does not syncing with the PC like Wm SMS SYNC does.
I am sorry guys. But I wiped my whole download dir last week forgetting about this app.Maybe it is still available on the net.
Anyway. It did go commercial so I don't think the programmer wants me to spread an old free copy around. Neither I am allowed by XDA, I think to do so.
Found a similar app as WM SMS Sync, Efficasoft's Mobile Express freeware.
http://www.efficasoft.com/mobileexpress/index.html
Features
Manage Text Message (SMS) Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Send Items, Deleted Items.
Send, reply and forward text messages directly from desktop PC.
Supports text message delivery notification request.
Export text messages to txt file in chat-history style.
Organize (add, edit, delete, find) phone contacts.
Synchronized text messages automatically - NO NEED TO MANUALLY 'REFRESH'.
New text message arrival tray notification.
Requirements
Windows 2000, XP, 2003 with ActiveSync installed.
Windows Vista with latest version of Device Center installed.
Windows Mobile Smartphone or Pocket PC (2003, 2003 SE, WM5 and WM6).
Thank you Hendrixus

Windows Mobile SMS Sync 2.0
Hello,
Windows Mobile SMS Sync did go commercial however the new 2.0 version includes a number of really intresting features that set it apart from other the freeware and other commercial applications available. One of the key new features is that you can sync up to our secure server and then restore your messages from our secure server to a new Windows Mobile device.
While it is no longer available as freeware, I would happily give some xda-developers readers free copies of the software in exchange for their feedback. Feedback from the sort of technical users that frequent these forums would be worth more to me than the $10 application fee which I am sure few of you would be willing to pay anyways - you are definitely not the target audience for this application.
If any of you are still looking for a solution to your text message backup needs, please reply here or email me at [email protected] and I will provide you a coupon code to download the application for free. In exchange, I just ask that you provide me with a somewhat detailed analysis of the application and your expierence.
