automatic speakerphone problem - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

I installed the energyROM and all is well except the automatic speakerphone feature that turns on the speaker phone once the phone is turned upside turn during a call. Anyone know how to fix this?

in the settings options, the box is checked to allow this

I did not explicitly check this, but the only custom ROM I noticed the automatic speakerphone working in is firestorm. Again, I didn't try it out on the other ROMS, but I do know it works for me in that (and so far that is my favorite ROM too).

I am using MightyRom (11/16/09) and the automatic speakerphone works for me. Just be aware that if you have Gyro2 installed it will hang up your call the moment you turn the phone upside down. It happened to me. As soon as I uninstalled the Gyro2 cab the speakerphone started working again. Good luck...

Need Hack - Phone default to speakerphone when in landscape

Hi,
It's driving me nuts that when you answer or initiate a phone call on the Universal with the device in landscape mode (with no headset plugged in) that you still have to use the onscreen button to change it to speakerphone mode. There's no other way to use the phone when it's in landscape without using a headset, so why doesn't it default to this behavior?
Is there a registry edit or hack that could accomplish this? If not, what about a hardware keyboard shortcut to toggle the modes? Either way it would be helpful, especially when answering a call while driving with your Uni in a car cradle.
galt: this isn't a solution, but can you do me a favour and test these two out.
If it works, they could potentially be inserted into a background task like VJBigPhone to detect switch to landscape and switch the speakerphone on.
WM5 only for now at least.
VJSpeakerPhoneOFF
VJSpeakerPhoneON
I'm afraid this is untested, since I don't use my Universal as a phone. But who knows!

Sounds great, worth a try! I'll check it out and let you know how it works.

this doesnt work vj
Nothing happens, it just switches to the phone application....without the speakerphone powering up...

PS: I tried it on an XDA2 running wm5
They seem to work fine to toggle the speaker phone on and off. If you can make them status aware that would be awesome! Please do advise any progress towards this.

Holding down the Green call key on the keyboard puts my Exec into speakerphone mode when a call comes in...
Galt: so they work ok to enable the speakerphone? If so, I'll put them into the VJPhoneShortcuts cab.
Silicon's suggestion might be easiest, but for the landscape auto switch:
they can try to enable speakerphone, but only when you're in a call. So it would only work if you changed to landscape while you were in a call. Then it would detect change and switch to speakerphone.
But that seems a little bit of a contrived set of cirumstances. Pressing the green button might be easiest! Alternatively, to program, it would have to monitor if any calls come in while in landscape, and if they do, automatically switch to speakerphone. That's not pretty to program

Glad you got it sorted!
Did VJSpeakerPhoneON/Off work though, just for reference?

Sorry, I probably should have been more clear in my previous post - the on/off apps worked to toggle speakerphone durng a call. Too bad making them orientation aware is such a pain, would be great to have it auto-switch.
I'm away on holiday for a week from Monday. If you remind me when I get back, I'll try to write it.
The problem is though, as I said, it will only go into speakerphone while you're on a call. So unless you change orientation while in a call, it won't do anything, so it will have limited function I guess.
Good to know they did something though!

When using TomTom holding down the GREEN answer button doesn't put it into Speakerphone mode for some reason, even if I answer the call then hold down the button.

open keyboard to turn on speakerphone?

Hi,
I am new to the Mogul PDA, I was wondering whether there is some software or registry hack to do the following:
- While on the phone, opening the keyboard would turn on speakerphone..(also perhaps answering the phone using speakerphone by just opening the keyboard.)
- Then to turn off the speakerphone, closing the keyboard...
The closest thing I found is the software Speakerphone - AutoOn but it just automatically turn on the speakerphone.
Hopefully someone has a solution for that.
Thank you in advance
I just saw this feature on the enV the other day and would like to have this also. Any one have an idea how to do it?
Thats a good idea, but what if the bluetooth is conncted? I'd like to have this.
I guess if a bluetooth earphone is connected.. perhaps the speakerphone feature would be turned off...
I think its all software controllable... but maybe there are other factors...
I guess nobody knows a solution to this..

Mute Incoming Ring Sound

Hi i got a problem here.
If i did not remember wrongly, HTC Touch HD has a function had can mute incoming call ring by facing down the phone, and i remember that i had test tis function when i first got the phone and it it working.
But now after testing some software tis function seem to be gone...i knew i can tweak it by editing registry, but so there a option in the phone by default?
Or I can tweak it with Advanced Config V3?
Pls correct me if i am wrong, is it true that Flip Phone to mute the ringtone is a default for HD and there is no option to turn it off by default?
I found that tis flip phone to mute ringtone function works intermittmently for my phone!!! What could cause the problem? It is activate by G-sensor or the light sensor?
I tired it on mine and if Gyrator2 is running it is not working. I've setted up Gyrator to rotate only for events that I have specified - so it shouldn't influence this. Anyone has any ideas how to fix this?
***++bump++***
It doesn't work for me either!
I discover that it is working if i set to vibrate!!!
I got the same problem yesterday.
Today, I saw your post and test it in vibrate mode, and found that it works.
Then I switch ringtone on, it also works..........
and I now know how it works.
If you set it to vibrate mode **OR** ringtone mode, you can flip to mute.
If you set to **BOTH**, it doesn't works........

I tink it works intermittently, if u flip the phone a lot of times it may work.
Anybody who has a HD w/o any software installed care to test?
Cos i remember that after i hard reset it can work when i set to vibrate and ring.
For me its random, I can have it on Ring only or ring and vibrate and sometimes in either case it will work and sometimes it wont work. I tried slowly flipping it and swiftly and agressively. Nothing.

Screen on with Bluetooth Headset

I'm running the latest stock Nougat release (G935PVPS4BQC1) . I use a pair of LG Tone (LG HBS750) headsets. When talking on the phone the screen won't shut off. If I shut it off it comes right back on. 1) It kills the battery and 2) when I place the phone in my pocket I wind up pocket dialing digits or turning off bluetooth, etc. It's really annoying.
Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

Yep, that's my complaint. I haven't found a fix for it yet either.
Kind of a joke, but it could work. Install Nothing
(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gorro.nothing),
then use tasker or eRobot to launch nothing when you are on a call with that BT device.
It will not turn the screen off, but it might stop the pocket clicks from doing anything.
You could also use either tasker or eRobot to turn the screen off. That will work too and it might keep the screen off, but it will also disable any biometric unlocks until you use your password again.

Call switching to loud speaker by itself

Hi
Has anyone else encountered this bug on the European version?
It's only been happening recently since the latest update.
As far as I can tell the screen is off when it happens so it shouldn't be a case of me touching the button with my face.
Further more, the loudspeaker button is not active even though the sound is coming from it!
I have to press it once for it to turn green (loud speaker mode) then once again to return the call to the ear speaker.
Weird!
This is probably not it but just an idea because a similar thing happened to me on my last phone. It turns out I had an app (AutomateIt) which is like tasker in that it does things in response to other things. In this case, I didn't realize it had a task setup that was supposed to automatically activate speakerphone based on the proximity sensor, and it just did not work reliably, activating speakerphone mode excessively.
