I have the neoTouch for a while now, and overall it is a great device, but mine (German version) has an issue. Sometimes when I want to power it on (via power button or app button), the screen won't turn on. If push the app button, they light up, but the screen stays dark.
Also, if I hold the power button, it makes the chirping sound that it does when it asks if it really should power down.
I tried to check whats going on with MyMobiler, but unfortunately, if this thing happens, it also is not recognized by my PC. It also seems to "eat" phone calls while it is in such a hibernating state. It wont ring and it wont list a missed call
this happens with the stock German ROM 1.002_DE and with hdublis new rom.
a softreset cures that, but thats not a solution...

seems to have a wake up issue, one wich i havent found fic for, its weird lol
I had the same problem.
I think the problem is the WM 6.5 lockscreen.
Since I don`t use the original lockscreen, the problem never returns.

To resolve this problem, Wait the v3 Driver!
I flashed the newest ROM of Acer (in english only in this moment) and i don't have this problem now!

I've tried to do a search on this problem, but nothing came up. Maybe I'm searching the wrong keyword. If someone know anything about this, please advise. I got the Jamin recently, I pretty much went right into installing the 2nd ROM (vs the recent 3rd ROM). So I have nothing to compare to. For whatever reason, my Jamin keeps turning on by itself every few minutes. Not only that, it won't automatically turn off using the Power setting. Whenever it's time to turn off (ie, after 1min), the thing automatically turns on again (with the backlight on). I'm not sure if this is a ROM problem, a hardware problem, or software imcompatibility. Please help.

I've also had this happen on my Prophet - it seemed to fix itself after a while, but I also had the problem:
press power button to turn off
press power button to turn on, and backlight was off
couldn't get the backlight on again except going through the backlight settings!
I did fix this using...

Run this app on your prophet, and your backlight is back to normal.
I've found this problem in a number of threads - I'm updating them as I find the solution!

well it's been bugging me for a while, and lately it got me in a sticky situation.
basically if i'm on a call, and i wish to end it.. pressing the hardware hangup button doesn't really do anything if the display is off (i.e: the device switches to power saving while on a long call)
and the only ways to hangup is either to wait for the other party to hang up, or press the power button first, wait for the display to light up, then hang up..
i've always had this problem, even with the latest i-mate ROM available, and didn't think much of it, till today i finished a call, and somehow it skipped my mind that my phone acts stupid that way, and the person on the other end heard somethings they shouldn't have heard while i thought the line was already hung :S
anyway.. is there a known fix to this?
i'm thinking of upgrading to Jwrightmcps' AKU 3.2 Rom Update 1.90.94
any clues if that could help?
is it a problem in the radio ROM?

As u have tried two ROMs even the official one also So, I don't think so that this is something related to OS as Jwright's ROM is pretty much stable and fast indeed so u can give it a try and if it doesn't work for u then IMHO it's a hardware thing to be worried about .
you can set like this:
open start-settings-buttons-lock
then choose do not lock buttons.
but if you set like this,press any key(except tape screen)will wake it up.
I have a problem with my Touch HD, expecially when it turn off itself when battery level is low, that when I try to recharge, the red led on the top won't turn on and neather if i try to turn on the pda it turn on.
so I have to remove the battery, press the reset button, wait a couple of hours, reinsert the battery and than usually it turn on again normally.
this problem huppened to someone else?
is it a hardware fault or just software (I flash it several times, but the problem huppen with different roms)

My problem is very specific...
If i press power buttom when touch hd is on I got sleep mode and then if press power button again I got it weaked and well working...
The problem is if it goes sleep mode by himself (after 10 minutos by doing nothing) the power buttom can't weak it ... I can still hear the sounds of any buttom I press but display don't come back from sleep .. And I allways have to take off battery and wait 15 minutos and then I press button and from new starts it weaks !!! ...
If I could change to block that so deep sleep maybe I can make it wake up by g sensor ... or stylus .. or another buttom .. don't know !!!

This happened to me with latest NRG rom, Back to Dutty and all is ok now..

I'm having the same, if not similar, problem.
This happens when the battery is below 50% (i think).
The phone goes to sleep, and when i press the power button to turn it back on, it won't.
I can see that the back light is on, but nothing shows up on the screen.
The only way to turn the phone back on was to press the red reset button in the back...
I hope someone comes up with a solution soon. Otherwise, I'm going to be sad

I changed the power options...let's see what happens. Do you think that can be a hardware issue?

Had a similar problem a few times.Colud not come back from sleep mode.But if i soft reset the phone would start normaly.
Changed rom and no problem since.And i changed a few roms since then.
Anyone has this problem? I find sometimes my Leo automatically switches off. Quite a perplexing predicament.
Like, turns off completely, so you have to press the power button to reboot it?
Or the screen goes off, and you need to turn it on and unlock the screen?
If it's the first one, is your battery running out of charge?

Had that either. Didn´t do it for a long time now and I think it was because of the leather case. I always pushed in the hd2 with the buttons on the bottom and I think they were pressed for a long time. Maybe they shut down the phone when they are pressed too long ??? I now slip in the phone with the buttons to the open side and since then it didn´t shut down by itself.
Sorry. Hope my german english doesn´t sound too silly :-D

Yes that is what I suspected too. I was onthe official 1.48 ROM btw. now i flashed the new Cleanex ROM v4. so far so good. we'll see
mine has gone into such a deep sleep I've had to remove the battery to reboot. interestingly, the incoming caller had a dial tone. and I didn't get a missed call notification. running stock 1.66 Rom.
so I just noticed the lights for my hardware buttons are stuck on, happens from the moment the phone turns on, and nothing changes it (though they seem to dim slightly) I've tried reflashing the phone (using mdj cyanogen 2.7, nand with magldr 1.12)
I tried searching and havent seen anything like this. Only thing I can think is maybe it got a little wet(?) while I was recording video during a snow storm here, but nothing else seemed wrong, just got home and noticed it. Any ideas?
I have the exact same problem. I've flashed back to the original windows mobile rom and the problem is still there! I've searched and yet to find the solution. Anyone got any ideas?
Check to see if you have a voicemail - you may have read it but closed VM before listening to all the message, it can on occasions do this - it I'm right just ring your phone leave a fresh VM then go into VM and listen to the whole message
Thanks for the reply, but no dice on this one. I tried the voicemail thing and I have no voicemails.
To clarify it's the bottom 5 buttons (call, home, windows, back and power) that are constantly lit up. Even when the phone goes on standby those buttons stay lit. I'm looking to see if there's an app that can just shut them off.
I got the same problem. My hd2 got some water on it and the problem started. The hardware keys now getting dim but not getting completely off. There is no other problem

Thanks, I will try the rom.
But do u really think its a rom problem ? The keys light were working fine before the water hazard in the same existing rom. Besides the problem is also there when u are in the boot menu of MAGLDR or Clockwork menu.
any updates from anyone? On miy HD2 the vol up, start, back & end call key don't respond to any presses but seem to be active. Calls will randomly end, vol up acts as if the button is kept pressed!

A little bump in this thread, but is there already found a solution for this problem?
After a hard reset and replacing the digitizer of my htc HD2, the buttonlights remain on. Even when the phone gets in standby mode.
I'm using cyanogenmod 7. (bought it like this. Didn't put android on it myself)
After the hard reset and digitizer replacement there also came another problem.
When pushing the windows logo (key 158) the volume up button also reacts (key 115). Thesame problem occurs when pushing the dial button. With that key (231), key 114 (volume down) reacts.
So when i want to open a menu or make a call the volume goes up or down.
Do you guys think I screwed something up when replacing my digitizer or is it just an software issue caused by the hard reset?
All right guys, it was an hardware failure.
I reopened my htc and checked all the connectors and (re)placed some of the yellow tape. After the reassembly, my phone just works as it should. All problems are solved.
My HTC HD2 also got the keys stuck after only a week of use. T-Mobile is sending me a replacement phone today.
Is this a common problem? I'm afraid it may happen again.
