Hey guys.
How do you remove or re-assign items from the "quick link" bar on the home screen? The hd2 manual tells you how to 'add' contacts, apps or web links to the quick link boxes - but nothing on how to remove them.
Does anyone know?
Press the menu soft key and there is an option to do that in there.

Does anyone know of a way to actually remove the New menu from the task bar? I can remove all the items from it easily enough and remove the menu button from the left of it but I'd like to get rid of it altogether.
I have eleven items already displayed down there and as soon as anything starts that creates another icon, it disappears out of view 'behind' the New menu. In particular, because PZP like the left hand of the task bar, it keeps disappearing from view which is a real pain.

Has anybody found a way to remove the top and bottom bars from the screen or theme them away? I map my mail button to open the start menu and the internet button to close apps. my left softkey brings up Newmenu and the right one brings up contacts. I have no use for either onscreen bar. Killing them off would provide 10-15% more homescreen space.
Thanks for reading and any help/guidance you may be able to provide.
Vijay has written an app, but I don't think its still on his site. Its called VJToggle or something. You can remove the bottom bar, or both bars. I found it on MoDaCo via Google.
Thanks. I'll give it a try.

There is also Wisbar Advance Desktop. It is shareware and you have to pay for registration code but it allows 100% complete customization of your home screen including full screen without top and bottom bars.
How can i map the start menu key and button on the screen to an application because i want when start is pressed to open my hp shortcuts instead of the start menu. Is it possible?
Settings\Buttons or AE Button Plus, use google to find out about it.
Please in future post in the correct sub forum as this is a Q&A....
yes the button on the phone's keypad but i also want the button on the screen? I saw in one video posted here that on toshiba ppc when the start menu is pressed on it opens a folder or a program and not showing the deafult start menu. Oh and stylez thanks for your quick reply
Yes, I would like a very similar thing. WM6.5 does this now. When you press on the Start Menu icon, it brings up the Honeycomb. Is there a way to assign any application to the Start Menu icon? Has such program been developed?

I accidentally put some favorites on my favorites screen and now I am unable to remove the ones I don't want.
Is there a way to remove only one? When I try and drag one to the remove button, the whole screen in included.
Thanks.
I am also having that problem. The thing came with many default favorites I don't care about.
press and hold the contact you want to remove. You can also unitary them in your Google profile if they're a Google contact.
Press and Hold
Press and Hold does not do it. This deletes all.

Sorry, I know there's a way to long press a contact to remove from favorites, but it's not directly from the widget.
Go into the People app (click the triple bar icon on the favorites widget gets you there). Slide to the second option from the left on the bottom slide menu. That gets you to your groups. One of the groups is "Favorites". Long press that and Edit the group. There you can remove people by touching the X.
hey everyone, been a long time well i got rid of my MT3G got and HD2 despised it now i got this. this may have been posted about somewhere but i couldent find it so i apologize if it is.
i installed chomp sms and i was wondering if there was a way to replace the scok messageing button on the lil menu bar deal with the chomp sms shortcut. i do have root access.
thank yall
1. Open your Applications launcher
2. Tap the Menu button and select View Type->Customizable Grid
3. Tap the Menu button again and select Edit
4. Drag the ChompSMS icon over the Messaging icon. You should see a "swapping" animation as the icons rearrange themselves.
I am trying to get this to be a sticky, for this very reason. Good question, but its been answered a lot:
