Try adding the information in "Me" in contact.

Correct.
It does seem a little weird but that is how you 'officially' add your details for Owners Name.
All my registered programs now automatically show the owners name in the registration window.

Other than the obvious (check that 1's are not I's or l's etc.) check to see that your Owner info on Handango matches the owner info on your device EXACTLY. AFAIK there can be no differences whatsoever in the owner name. If you have any non-ASCII characters in your name, I'd expect this to potentially cause problems with some key-schemes, and if this is the case, you'd best to contact Handango about the situation ASAP.

No Owner Information

I just watched a video (still waiting for mine) that said that there was no owner information under settings > Personal I have several programs that use this information to register. Can anyone advise the registry hack to restore this option.
Thanks
I've seen it activated in some of the ROMs running Leo on the X1. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out there ^^
Get a registry editor, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner, delete the "Redirect" value.
That is how I input my Owner Info into my TP2:
Goto > Setting > Today > Items > uncheck the HTC Sense and check the Owner Info items.
You should see the Owner Info item display on the Today screen where you can input your name from there.
The registry fix doesn't seem to work on HD2...Any other solutions to enter owner info?
Get a registry editor, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner, change Hide 1 to Hide 0,soft reset and then go to settings/menu/extra/personal and then to the tab owner information.

For the lazy ones or the registrial challanged, here's a .cab that should sort you out. Do a restart for the changes to take effect,

Looks like someone in HTC did'nt do their check properly before finalising the ROM.

Hard reset....a very very very bad idea!

I managed to hard reset my HD2 but during the initial setup/installation, I was not given the chance to put in my owner's details and now because this is missing on the phone, I cannot install ANY APPLICATION that require owner's id or access the registry.
Am i missing something or is there a way to solve this. PLEASEE HELP!!!!!!
I have resco explorer and Total commander but none display the registry. NET 3.5 has also been installed. AGAIN PLEASEE HELPP!!!

you can use rosco reg editor even though it has not been activated.

The idiosyncrasies of being a newbie to Windows Mobile OS
Thank you!
The phone now takes this information from whatever contact card you define as 'Me'.
Just go into the 'People' application. Choose the contact that you want to represent the owner information. Click 'Menu' and select 'Save to My Contact Card'.
The Owner name and other details will now be filled in using the information from that contact card.
This still might not help, if you used a different name for your application registrations than the one in the contact card, but it does save getting out the registry editor.

Windows Mobile 6.5 Missing Features

Hi, everyone!
Recently I wanted to install Resco Explorer 2008 and, after installation, to activate it, the program looks for "Owner Information".
So, I decided to enter my name in the phone so I can proceed with the installation.
I looked in Start/Settings but there is no such field for "Owner Information".
I also looked for "Power" or "Power Settings" to make adjustments for battery, but I couldn't find that field, either.
I don't know what kind of Windows I have because I don't see any field saying something about the Windows mobile. I wonder, is it possible to have a returned phone that came with a cooked Rom or something?
In Start/Settings/About Phone/Software Information it says "OS version 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82).
Before returning the phone, coould you please verify your phones and let me know if you have:
1. Owner Information (and where it is?)
2. Power or Power Settings (and where it is?)
Aslo, if you know, let me how to check the version of the Operating system.
Many thanks to all!
HKLM\ControlPanel\Owner > change Hide from 1 to 0
Then your owner info is back (I for some reason always had it right from the beginning without changing anything in the registry, using GER 1.48 stock ROM).
To get into the normal WM6.5-settings just go into the settings-tab within Sense and click bottom right.

2. HTC Sense, slide to settings, Menu soft key -> all Settings -> System -> Power

Do you not have the "Me" contact at the top of the people list (note - not the contact list)

This is not a bug and just user error. It is a preference within WM, obviously not to your taste though.
As others previously had said owner information is the "Me" person and the power can be achieve by
Start>Settings>Menu>All Settings> System> Power
I did not find the rigth user info either so I downloaded a small app that found it for me, its called "owner information" Here is it http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=265383&d=1262995348

No, I don't have the "Me" on top of People list, I do have "Me" as contact card - but this is not what I am looking for. Prior to installation, Resco is looking for the name of the owner (like a computer within a network) not into my contact list...
On the Microsoft Website, they said to follow these steps:
"In case you lose your Windows® phone , you may want to add owner information, a message, or both owner information and a message that will display when your phone is turned on. Doing so gives someone who may find your phone a way of contacting you.
To add owner information and a message to your phone:
Tap START , tap SETTINGS , tap PERSONAL, and then tap OWNER INFORMATION"
I can go as far as PERSONAL but I don't have any icon for OWNER INFORMATION... Any ideas? thank you.

Perhaps download the free "Total Commander" .CAB file and install it and then do the reg tweak.
edit: by responding to this thread doesn't mean I endorse warez
I will do, so.
By the way, what frequencies you have for 3G? I have HSPA/WCDMA 900/2100 MHz. I wish I would have 700 or 850 for when I'm traveling...

The "ME" contact is the equivalent of owner information.
Fill in the me contact with the same name as you would in owner name.
OR
use the reg hack above to enable owner name.
OR install BSB tweaks to do the reg hack for you.
Thank you. I will do that! I appreciate your help.
A little extra info on this subject, just for reference.
If you have set your owner name by unhiding 'owner info' in personal and entering it there, and then open the 'me' card in people, it doesn't show the owner info you entered in the personal section.
If you then click 'done' in the blank Me contact card, it erases your owner info from the personal owner info, thus reverting resco (and no doubt other progs that rely on owner info for the liscense) back to trial mode, and you must then re activate it.

owner info cab??

Before I installed the new ROM I had a small cab called Owner info(I think) I have searched but cant fin it again. Nice program that lets me change the owner info. Anyone??

note that only the info you put in the first name box of the 'me' contact card will become the 'actual' windows user id used when unlocking programs such as resco.
(well it did that on mine, and i tested it a few times, heh)
THIS one you mean?
Just install BsB Tweaks... it will allow you to enable the owner panel in Settings, in addition to countless other things.
There's this too that gives you a litle melody when you turn on the phone as well. You have to tick owner info in today settings to enable it.

Start- Settings- (Down bar) Menu- All settings-Personal-Owner?
Why would you need to change the owner information. Do you have the HD2 on time share?
Thanks all, I got it now
@Neville.Holland no, I just did not know what the owner name was after the new ROM

Because certain programs that you have to pay for, the owner name in the Settings window is used in conjunction with the serial you get for it.
So the program asks you for a serial, and it will only work with the right name in owner's info in Settings.
