The usb connection from my touch has died but in order to get it fixed under warranty, I would probably have to remove the custom 6.5 rom I have on the device.
Is there a way to restore the original rom via SD
or any other solution that doesn't involve ripping it apart?

Can someone help me with how to flash my ppc6700 (Apache) form an SD card?
if you are wanting to back up the rom you have on it now and reflash to that you can find that out here...
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/inane/1119
keep in mind this is ONLY the rom and not all your files and contacts etc. back those up before you try to reflash period even with the sd card
as for using a sd card to upgrade your rom i've got no idea.
I need to do this as well. I need to flash back and my USB port on my phone is dead.
EDIT:
nm. I just soldered in a USB cord temporarily. That allowed me to roll back to the legit rom & get my phone replaced. Thanks sprint!
I need to restore my Polaris to the Default ROM that comes with it. The pin that holds the micro SD card in place is broken and I need to return the phone for service. I had the German ROM on the phone.
Does anyone know how I can restore the fone to Factory settings and ROM?

See second post in the suggested HOW TO thread...
Sorry if this has been posted already, but I'm in a hurry since I'm at work. I need to get a replacement phone from tmobile, and I'm pretty sure that since I installed Elegancia, my warranty is voided. What all do I need to do in order to get everything back to normal?
I'm not sure but you must use the same tool. to unistalled. HSPL2_1024.run. to revert it. 2.08.HSPL to 2.08.0000. and then flash to original rom.
Or flash a stock ROM (found in the stickies) from your SD card. That will overwrite the HardSPL. But don't use the 16GB card that came with the phone. It will usually not work using that card. Format a different (preferably class 6) SD card and copy the stock LEOIMG.nbh file to it and flash from there.
or just flash it to the stock rom via USB cable. Pretty much the same process you used to flash to the custom rom you have now it's the exact same thing when flashing to stock rom. Look in the HD2 Tmobile ROM section and get the latest one. That's all you need.

From what I have read and understand, this is bad information (although I haven't actually tried it to verify that it would work or not). From all of the information that the experts have provided in theses forums, you need to flash the stock ROM from the SD card in order to overwrite the HSPL. The HSPL would not be overwritten if flashing via USB and active sync.
i got my replacement and i sent my phone in with a custom rom.
but to go back to stock it's just like you setting up a custom rom, find the original rom you want there are 2 that's out for the phone( the one shipped and the update) and your all set
i just sent in my custom rommed phone also, they didn't care.

Hello everyone. Long story short - my micro-usb port broke , flashed stock rom from root of sd card so I could use my warranty . Service shop said it was my fault and the only fix is to change the main board which costs lots of $$$ .
So now am I stuck with Windows Mobile 6.5 1.66 ROM(Why didn't I install atleast 3.14) or is there a way to install HSPL and later on CLK(I think you can flash CLK as .nbh from sd card).
Regards.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I bought an external charger and I will transfer my data with card reader ( I wonder why I didnt do that in the first place)
I would go back and try to talk to someone else at that shop or better yet find another shop. I never heard of a broken usb port being blamed
on the person. I think they wanted to make money off of you personally. I have taken back maybe 5-7 phones in my life because of the usb
port going up and not once have i ever heard it was my fault and they wouldn't cover it.
i had an xdaIIi refused warranty on the usb port cos it was full of gunk. Bit of a grey area, warranty and the usb port, there have been a few posts over the years where people have it refused for one reason or another.
That being said, i do agree that OP should be back at the shop kicking up a fuss.
@OP - you can still flash a 3.14 from sd card. So long as you use the correct rom for that phones original region and carrier, it will flash.
to bad wireless doesn't work w/o an OS, there's an ADB wireless driver but that no use in this case.

Ok this is what is possible and what is not possible with a broken USB port. You can not flash HSPL without a USB connection to your computer. You can flash MAGLDR and CLK via your SD card by renaming the .nbh file the same as what you named the stock ROM .nbh file and placing the .nbh file on the root of your SD card and booting into the bootloader. You can not flash Clockwork Mod Recovery via USB for MAGLDR or use fastboot commands to flash Clockwork Mod Recovery after flashing clk. You can get Clockwork Mod Recovery via SD card for MAGLDR by placing the two needed files on the SD card, click the link to the guide in my sig to learn more about this. If you are already using NAND Android on your HD2 and have Clockwork Mod Recovery on your HD2 when your USB port stops working you can still flash Android ROMs via your SD card but you have to use ROMs that will work with your current partition layout that the version of Clockwork Mod Recovery you have uses. To change your partition size you will have to flash another version of Clockwork Mod Recovery that uses the partition size you want. Keep in mind when I say Clockwork Mod Recovery I also mean any other custom recovery you may use or are using presently. You can not flash any WP7 ROMs without a working USB port. I think that pretty much covers it.
That was very informative. I should start taking notes from you. lol.
As samsamuel suggested try and raise hell, it may get you somewhere. Or mayber just go back when that person who you spoke with before
isn't there. I've had great success just talking to someone else sometimes from everything from problems with T-Mobile to my credit cards. Off
subject but i had one person tell me they couldn't help me with my credit card problem and was adamant there was nothing that could be done,
I hung up and spoke to someone else and they took off $400 so its definitely worth trying.
Thank you everyone. If I'm not able to flash HSPL I'm pretty much denied access to the sd card flashing methods of MAGLDR/CLK. This is a bummer. Going back to the shop and making a fuss is not a really an option , because I'm not that kind of a person and to be frankly honest it is probably my fault. The symptoms of a loose micro usb port were there for nearly 3-4 months . I had to jiggle the cable so I can get connection and even the slightest vibration/sudden move could brake it and it would seem one of the days the jiggle from my side was too hard and tore off the port fully. I can't imagine that not leaving traces of an external intervention. Now that I think of it I should of have taken it when the port was still somewhat usable because the loose connection came from overuse or fabric defect , not from my mishanding of the device.
I will flash 3.14 and continue to use Windows Mobile for couple of months until Galaxy SIII or some other phone that can come in terms with HTC HD2's awesomeness comes out.
A thing that bothers me is that almost every phone uses micro usb ports for charging/transfering data and it is bound to brake sooner or later. This standart seems very fragile and I wonder if that is the reason Apple uses their own proprietary USB cable/charger/dock port.
Regards.
I have seen just the USB port online you can buy. Maybe you could ask them how much they might charge for labor if you get the part. It may save you a little bit of money. If not you could always buy a spare battery that comes with a wall charger, the kind the whole battery plugs into. That way you can charge your battery up since you can't charge your phone. They sell them on eBay for around $5-$10.
