I recently installed Duttys Holy Grail R1 ROM on my AT&T Pure and now I have a weird problem with my MP3 player. No matter what song I play it stops at 15-30 sec. The cursor then freezes and I can't change position on the song. I can move to the next song but it will freeze too. Any idea what is going on here?
Thanks

Hi,
Has anyone got problems with the original MP3 player that you can launch with the touchFlow program ?
Mine sometimes starts the song and stops. Another problem is that it freezes the HD for a few seconds.
For now I use the windows player, which one would you suggest if problem with original remains ?

Pocket Player V3.6 works very well on the HD and is very 'finger friendly'. It also allows more control over WMP ie equaliser settings etc.
However, I've not experienced any problems with the HTC player. It does a very good job in my opinion. Just a shame that it doesn't seem to be able to play eAAC+ files.
My music player (Tfl.) freezes too, all the time
I have to go to the Bibliotheek to rumble in the differend tabs and now en then the player starts working, for the moment it is froozen again !

Seems to be a common problem. Luckily I solved it with a hard reset but for others that did not work. Have you checked this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2966574#post2966574 in case it helps?
I am, with this one:
[REV. 2/6/09 Ver.16 BURGUNDY] PDAviet TouchFLO Manila 2D WM6.1 V6.1.405.16
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475779
and now I cannot recall if I had similar problem on a similar ROM:
ROM HERALD WWE 6.1 BUILD 20764.1.4.3 (Blue clear)
but I read of someone having a similar problem yesterday -- in a Kaiser thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3296305#post3296305
PROBLEM: Using touchflo, slide to Music tab, click "play" arrow, and song plays for 10-15 seconds then stops. Then nothing is clickable within the audio manager interface. To get out of this, I have to slide to another Touchflo tab, then back to Music, and I can start up the song aian, but same thing will happen.
I tested by playing the same song in Windows Media Player and it was fine, played thru no problem. Meanwhile using Audio Manager, every song behaves this way.
ANyone else experiencing this?
(Note to Moderator: I have no idea if this is correct forum in which to post this. It seems correct since I'm experiencing it as a Herald ROM problem.)
If for any reason someone else had this problem with music files only playing 30-40 seconds in Audio Manager... I finally solved the problem, figured it out.
I had copied a bunch of music files from my Mac onto my Micro-SD card, assuming they would play just fine once the card was inserted inot my WING. Wrong.
At least for this scenario, of this hardware and software, you'll have to copy over music files via your PC -- whether thru Micro-SD card/reader or USB cable.

Longest I have gone with the screen off on the HD2 while playing music so far is about 15 minutes though.

I haven't had any music player issue ever since I flashed Miri & Dinik ROM, give it a shot.

try to format memory card, then put one song in memory card. Test it out how it works.

hmm well im not a fan of thier roms, im all about energy rom, thanks anyways =]
A mildly cryptic title, i know, but i think it is very fitting. I have discovered on my Leo that the HTC music app doesn't actually seem to play the playlist at random if shuffle is enabled. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? and if it's not just me is there a fix? i'm not against ditching it because i have copies of core player and pocketmusic
Its a known bug on some ROMs. After a softreset, the checkbox for shuffle is checked but it plays in alphabetical order. As soon as u uncheck it, play a song and check it again you will have shuffle back. Im not aware of any fixes (though my actual ROM --> GoaTrip 4.5 doesnt seem to suffer from this problem...)
Greets
nice one, thanks. It seems that 1.66 stock is affected but atleast it's random now and not pretending to be. Although if it happens again i think i'm going back to pocketmusic
mine works fine on random wont play the same song again till the end, and not one track from the same band after another
im not sure if this makes sense (no pun intended) but my music player(no matter which rom i flash) it shuffles the songs but in the same order (sort of like a playlist)
I use mortplayer. Mortplayer looks like windows media player and you can set playlists and shuffle.

same with mine.. what i do is i enable shuffle, disable it and enable it again.. the order will be different now
Same issue using Energy or Chucky rom's or 1.66. It's kinda boring

Shuffle Music
Most software use a pseudo random sequence. The sequence is typically the same (i.e. 2,1,5,3,8,4....), but the start point different. This is why you find that although the shuffle starts somewhere up the list ultimately you will start hearing the same sequence, especially if your music library is not very big. Some better random applications use some element of the time you start the process to create a start point in the pseudo random sequence. The HTC HD2 Manila software does not appear to do this and I too suffer the same repeated "random" music and I agree with other posters - it gets boring. In frustration I have switched to Nitrogen music player (free) and it's music shuffler is pretty good. It is not as pretty as the shipped music player, but it works for me.
