Is TMC working w/ HD2's FM? - HD2 General

Can someone with an HD2 try it (best with iGo8) and report back? Thanks

Would be interested in this, too... So there should be quite a few hd2 owners out there... Come on dudes

I tried to getting it to work with IGO8, it does seem to recognize the "tmc module" but then disconnects again and stops searching for the correct frequency, and when it connects again it tries to find the correct frequency, and so on and so on.
Maybe it's just my version of igo or just me, maybe others have more luck.

Confirm did not work.

Do a search for
Navilock NL-324BTR TMC KFZ Reveiver
or
GNS TrafficBoxPlus FM9BT-C
I got the Navilock from Amazon.de for about £50

Sorry no good news. thried it with the headphones in and the 'no tc hardware found' message comes up with all settingsto auto. setting the tmc to the setting is sys.txt nothing found either.
Sorry does not work for me.
the GNS 5870 gps/tmc bluetooth receiver works. using this daily.

This first post in this thread point to the same information and if you read through it, nobody has got it to work.
The HD2 uses different drivers for the fm radio and are not compatable with HyperGPS. Look here
I would not have sent £50 on a GNS Bluetooth device if i could use HyperGPS.

Totally second that! It is just not possible yet!!! Everything that has been posted here (including the ipmart-link) are very old things i already used on my Touch HD. But they dont change anything concerning the issue, that HyperGPS is just not compatible with the HD2 FM-Radio. Everybody who is pretending that he got it working: Come on guys send a screenshot with working TMC either in iGo8 or Primo to proof it!!!

The solution for your TT6
Hi again,
If you do the registry hack then you have an icon in your Start/setings/system folder is it wright. If so then you tap on GPS icon and set up your GPS. GPS "Programs" set to NONE, "Hardware" set to COM7 and baudrate set to 57600, "Access" untick the "Manage GPS automatically" thats mean you must disable this function. This is it. Try this and TT6 must work on first try. The only bad thing is that you must be outside the house. Good luck.
Best regards,
Drahtman
P.S.: If you have English ROM for hw6915 please send us the link
Thanks mate,
Indeed i discovered yesterday after some 10 hours of fiddling that the GPS cannot be activated trought IPAQ Wireless (it only shows the status)
that the bloody gps icon is hidden in the registry (I also found an equalizer for the audio hehe)
and that TOmTom will force the GPS on once you have a map and after some 10 minutes will find satellites.
HP chat told me to send the unit for repairs (Good support dont they )
Anyway thanks it helped understand the virtual GPS feature, BTW mine is French version and has TT 5.3 not 6. and it gets along very well with WCE gps management
Heloo GPS man !
I am here for help. I learn a lot from this forum, so this is my payback to others with strange GPS problems.

Garmin XT

I'm using Garming XT as it is the only GPS soft I've find that I can upload my country's maps to (Argentina). The thing is that I'm unable to use the trinity build-in GPS because the soft tries to look for a Garmin device via bluetooth.
Can anyone help me by telling me if it possible to use the trinity's GPS or if there is any other soft that would be able to use the same map files as garmin does?
Thnx.
J.
Try using 4.10.40 version,it has abiliti to use the in-built GPS device.Works perfect on my Trinity
Could you tell me where you got Argentina maps? Haven't been able to find them anywhere.
I have the maps from argentina and I will be more than happy to share with you, reach me by private message.
The version I'm using is 4.10.40wp is it the same that you have Deki?
Yes.Go to Settings/System/Remote GPS/Disable and then put the tab on COM9.Click on enable and wait
Which tab? there's none, after I set the remote GPS on disable the soft says that I'm not allowed to connect with a Garmin GPS. Any ideas?
Try this...install org. app. Garmin and then put sw file in Garmin dir, without replacing the Que file.
Hi please can you post the app that you say, for use the build GPS.
Thanks
Look in PM
Sorry but where can I too get it ?
Cormac
what is that you want? the software or the maps? private message me and I'll get you anything.
I can't get Garmin Mobile XT 4.10.40W to work with my D810 either.
It keeps looking for GPS. Please help me out here. Thanks.

i also have a simmilar problem whit gps . i have installed igo and it does not connect to gps receiver . it searces few minutes and then it says that it does not find it . what might be the problem ? i have wm 6.1 proffesional

Unable to use gps properly.

Hey guys,
first post on this, what seems to be a great forum.
I recently bought the Jade and overall i'm very pleased with it.
Today I had some time to install gps software. I picked TomTom 7.450 because i like it more than Igo. The program itself is installed well but i just can't get the receiver activated.
I allready used several settings (disabled agps, 'built-in gps' or 'other nmea receiver' in tomtom, also with different baud rates) but it keeps saying i have a bad reception, it's waiting for a useable signal and it doesn't find any satellites.
I already installe the cab file i found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3031549&postcount=5 but that also doesn't seem to help anything.
Would someone be willing to give a step by step guide in how to get this thing fixed?
Secondly, can someone tell me what setting I should use in orde to still see the 'start button' when i'm using TomTom. With my last pda it remained there when TomTom was activated, so I could also use other programs but with the Jade i can't seem to find how to do this.
Sorry if there are some grammatical errors in this post, I'm from Belgium . Thanks in advance!
update:
i managed to get some signal and got a fix, but after about a minute it was lost again and it won't find it again.
Also I installed IgO8 but it won't start on my jade so I guess I'll have to do it with TomTom...
OK, let's try to find where is the problem .
First chceck your registry. Find out what is your settings in this path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/HTC/SUPL AGPS
Set GPSMode to 1
Set EnableAGPS to 0
If you already installed that CAB, it should be like this. This is going to make your GPS fix slower but more accurate and reliable (or it seems to do that ).
Second, download and install GPS Tuner from http://www.gpstuner.com/ . This is a great GPS software for offroad navigation which I use when testing GPS recievers.
Do not allow it to set your GPS receiver automatically. Set your GPS in GPS Tuner to COM 4, baud rate 4800 and Type 1. Go to "GPS Panel" and click green button "Start GPS". Do not leave this tab, because you can see how your receiver is getting fix. Be patient, especially if you do not have a good view of sky. The reason why I use this to test GPS is that you can see satelite signal even if you do not have a fix. Not all GPS applications do that.
If GPS Tuner is able to get fix in some time, there is something wrong with your TT settings. If it is not, there is something wrong with your GPS receiver or registry settings.
In the gps panel tab, the following results were given after pressing start gps (after about 2-3mins):
Lateral and longitudinal positions, altitude were correct
PDOP: 3,7 (good)
Fix: 3d fix
Furthermore it found 16 sats from which 7 were active.
So i presume it's not the gps unit itself but the TT settings? Registry settings are ok i think.
Many thanks allready!
Use latest version of TT
Try to install the latest version (v7.9) of TomTom. This one works ok on the Jade and you can also use the latest maps.

Yes, but version 7.9 gives correct status for the sattelite reception and it also supports the latest v8.15 (and higher) maps. Version 7.450 does not support the v8 maps.
To be very honest. The file you linked me to (http://www.4shared.com/account/dir/8910078/74070269/sharing.html) gives me an ttsystem file after unpacking without an extension (no .cab, no .exe) and i actually don't have a clue how to use it

I also have TTN_7.910 9185 QVGA Black.cab and when i trie to install it on my HTC Touch 3G NL i'am getting a errormessage: Installation of TTN_7.910 9185 QVGA Black.cab failed.
This file is okay, i had it installed on my HP iPaq hx2110 with WM5.
Anyone any idea?
TTN7.910 works now, read below how i managed it:
It allready had TTN_7.450.9028 VGA.cab installed on my HTC Touch 3G NL, although the Touch 3G is a QVGA device it worked (some textlines are to big for the screen).
On this thread i found following link: (http://www.4shared.com/account/dir/8...9/sharing.html).
There you can find: TT7_v7.910.9185_vga_via_update_van_7450.9028.rar in the tomtom pda folder.
In this download you wil find TomTom_7.450.9028.cab and 2 versions of TT7_v7.910.9185, black and blue incl. data.chk
After installing TomTom_7.450.9028.cab (or in my case TTN_7.450.9028 VGA.cab) all you have to do is copy the preffered version, black or blue of TomTom Navigator.exe and Data.chk to your device: in the folder (phone or storage memory)\Programmabestanden\Navigator.
Since i have a Dutch device the folder is called Programmabestanden, i don't know how it's called in English.
On my device there is also a folder Program Files, where in my case TT is not installed.
But i think most of you can figure it out yourselfs by know how it works, otherwise your not worthy a PDA.
With TTN 7.450 my HTC could find satellites but it was unable to show me how many it found. GPS receiption was good although. With A-GPS turned OFF.
With TTN 7.910 the problem above is solved, my HTC stil finds satellites and now i can see how many of them there are out there in the sky.
Another nice thing is that now although i installed VGA TT7.450 and replaced it with VGA TT7.910 i can read all text on the screen.
The text is smaller so it fits the screen but still very good readable.
Sincelry,
a big fan of TomTom.
Final solution to this problem !
Disabling AGPS is the cause of the issue we have here.
I've done some testing with AGPS enabled and GPSMode set to 1 and the results are good (quick fix and almost no lag).
Please read my reply on another topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3143383&postcount=17
A cab is attached to it to make the registry changes.
Kind regards.

I am quite happy with my GPS performance. However i am using Garmin XT. There is lag, of course but probably by a few ms (a few feet) but it does not make me miss a turn or a junction.

Wrong, 7.450 does support v8.15 maps, but only with keygen v7. don't ask me why, the answer is: because!
7.910 needs keygen v8 for v8.15 maps.

Sorry, but adding the line Type="ALIAS_TOUCH HD" does not cure the keyboardproblem...
BTW: TomTom has similar problems.
That's weird. I had that issue on my HD and that fix solved the issue.
When I got the TP2, I copied the same files over and do not have that issue so I figured that it was the same fix.

Maps have nothing to do with the working of iGO8 on this device.
iGO8 works great, but it's just not completely done for this device.
Everything is changeable, so if you know where to look, you can change it. I tried looking here on XDA-developers and voila!

Not a nice suggestion: this "solution" completely disables the hardware keyboard in Igo.
did you try it??
i had the same problem with the pressed key and my solution worked fine without disabling the keyboard.

you have to edit the keybind.txt in data.zip
add to [default]:
x87="NOP"
xE5="NOP"
restart igo and it will work!

This did not work. It only showed the XT9 bar inside igo8 without making any input in igo8.

Indeed it does - well, at least the normal keyboard. Arrows still work.

Thanks! This also works for me on the HTC Pure.
Doesn’t work for me either. The A with a small circle on top still present.
Too easy! just use a original rom. That's it
Now, everything is ok, thanks a lot for your help and comments.

TMC

Is the build-in TMC working for you ???
Pls describe which software you are using and how you did it !
I tried it in iGO8, but it doesn't work. I can't find TMC on any port or protocol. :-(
How about Navigon ?

If you bother to search then you'd see that FlyWhc is still working on getting an improved API for RDS/TMC data that will work on the TP2.
