How to change the typing sound of htc ezinput keyboard? - Touch HD General

does anyone know how to change the typing sound of htc keyboard in manila 2.1.... i like the quiet click sound of fingerkeyoard. i want tht... n htc default sound is very loud n irritating..... any help will be appreciated. thanks

open any app where Keyboard is required (exmple: new text message/sms)
click on the small up arrow icon just right to the small keyboard icon on the bottom centre and it'll pop up a menu, choose 'Touch Input Settings'. there u have an option(2nd option) 'Turn on typing sound'. just un-check it. n u'wont have any sounds while using keyboard.
you can also access these settings from settings -> Personal -> input -> 'choose ur input method from drop down' and then tap on 'options' button below it
I hope it helped.

Is there a way to change the keyboard sound to something less annoying??

The title says everything!! i was thinking the scratch sound the old moto V80 made, or maybe something else. If anyone knows how to change it please let me know!!
Thanks
I just turn the sound off, but I do remember reading somewhere about adding new sounds. I'll look around.
re
currently i have it off too but i would like to customize it!! anyone else have any thoughts??
My Herald came with a HTC app. preinstalled that enabled me to turn it off or specify another sound. It's in the registry somewhere if the app isn't installed btw.
Where can I put new sounds for the keyboard? I can only choose betwen 3 sounds. (I have the application installed)

think u have to put em in the windows folder, and they have to be *.wav
havnt tested myself but should work
Look for a key in the registry called "SlidingSound". It has 3 keys, "0", "1", and "2", each corresponding to the 3 sound options. Copy the .wav files you want into the windows directory. Choose any one of the 3 keys and change the "in" and "out" string values to the sounds you want. I tried this and it worked. I think I'll make my slide out sound like a cash register until it becomes more annoying than humorous.

where are you finding that in the registry? I found the slidingsound in the registry...but nothing where it shows the other tones or me having the ability to add mine...I'm using total commander
never mind...found the registry...but new problem is total commander won't let me copy and past the wav files that I want to use into the windows directory. it won't allow me to replace the other slider sounds also...what am I doing wrong?

i LOVE the transformer sound for sliding the keyboard out! and your device IS ACTUALLY transforming!!!

Can I change the clock alarm file/sound

anyone know if this is possible in the 8525 with wm5 on it.I have the new rom update to 2.15.502.3, but i still dont see the option am i missing it? I am not sure which file its using and I am growing tired of the ding-dong. thanks in advance guys
Tiffany
At the screen where you set the alarm, poke the 'bell' icon on the right, it will give you a few more options, which you can get to choose your tone.
thanks i never found the drop down menu..I looked all over..!
now is it possible to add additional sounds if needed/wanted. theres only a few alarm choices and they're all not very loud to wake up to. a song would be nice maybe. any suggestions?
im curious too. can't seem to find out how to change them on my htc touch.
but of course you can add additional files, just choose the file you want and save it inside the "windows" folder, use file explorer or total commander, then check the file in the program/settings/clock & alarms settings, click the "bell" icon enjoy

Just replace
"HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0010409\Ime File" value with "\Windows\compime.dll" instead of most owful ime implementation AKA eT9ime.dll by Tegic (not sure in they dll name spelling though)
P.S.: as usual, be warned about changing registry.

Thanks!! This works with Touchpal really well, don't forget to soft-reset after the registry change otherwise you've disabled your mail and messaging ;-)
i think i'm misunderstanding something here... when i put my cursor in the To: field, i start typing letters and names will automatically appear above the keyboard. i can continue to type until the correct recipient/name appears or i can scroll the "horizontal list" to find the name i'm looking for. does the registry tweak above present all possible selections in a "vertical list"? thanks for clarifying...
Yep. A white box pops up below the text field with possible matches, shows about 8 at a time.

does this happen when the cursor IS NOT placed in the "To:" field? thanks. i made the change and when i placed the cursor in the "To:" field, i did not have a list to choose from.
2cortez.i: the functionality you describe is built into default (but not standard!) keyboard you use. If you choose original windows keyboard or install any other third-party keyboard like Resco which have no similar functionality built in - then default system autocomplete contact list popup feature (supressed by tegic) is the only option. Specially if your contacts are not in English
And IMHO default contact list popup is much better than built into tegic keyboard because it let you to choose from list with one tap instead of reviewing them one-by-one...
2mlalahoi: yes, sure I'v just fogot to note that soft-reset is required

aahhhhhhhhhhhh... i understand now. i tried the registry tweak again with the standard keyboard and it works as you described. but, if i use the HTC Full QWERTY keyboard, the vertical list will ONLY appear AFTER i type 2 letters AND THEN hit the backspace key. i prefer the vertical list for sure! however, i prefer the "To:" field to be automatically populated as is done with tegic dll. too bad the registry tweak above requires an extra "backspace" keystroke. thanks for explaining the difference.
thankssss

hi it worked for me, if i use the standard keyboard or full qwerty, bu if i use the phone pad keypad, it doesnt work. infact it doesnt type anything.
i tried typing it in the text area of email / sms but no success.
so i have to change it back to et9ime.dll , but if you can provide me the solution so that it works with phone keypad along with the qwerty, than its really cool tweak.
please help.

At first you have to mention what software you are going to use to create those profiles. Depending on that you can use "settings - personal - Buttons" to activate that software with your left Softkey
OK! I try to explain it!
I`m use the Moritz v4 Rom with Manila 2.1
Now i change the soundprofile with the original TAB "einstellungen" -> "Sound" there i can change the soundprofile to "vibra"Normal"silence"
i like to change the left softkey to go direct to the "sound" menu!
Thanks alot!

not sure what you are exactly talking about. under settings -> sound you cannot set any profiles.
but maybe this is what you need in order to set sound to on, off or vibrate:
just hit the volume button which gives you the choice of these three profiles
copy the attached app to any directory and assign the left softkey to it. each time you hit the softkey, it cycles through the different profiles
