I have recently switched from Windows Mobile to Android.
On WM I had made my own shortcut that opened up a template SMS with the main body of text already in, and the recipients already entered. Is there any way of doing this on Android?
You can create a favorite with SMS as default. But you still have to type the message yourself. You can't choose a template.

1) Can you change the font size of the sms/email application. I would like a larger font to make reading and writing messages easier.
2) When I look in the SMS Sent Items folder, I see a list of messages which are udentified by phone number not contact name. Should the SMS's be identified by the relevcant contact.
In Contacts my phone numbers are all displayed as "+44 1234....' etc. I did change them all to have the space removed but after syncing with Outlook the space appears to be back again. Will this have anything to do with it.

Mike
1. The current version for the inbuilt sms/email application does not allow changing font size.
2. It should. However I found out that, if you compose sms from PHONE > Send SMS ..., the name of the contact does not show in the sms. Unless you compose the SMS from Contact or replying an incoming one which has Contact name identified.
3. Perhaps your Outlook is set to overwrite your pocket pc Contacts in ActiveSync?
Does anyone know any kind of software that can add a shortcut to my today screen and allow me to send sms's to a predefined recipients number. What i would like oto do is to tap on to an icon, and open the new sms window with the recipient's number already filled.
Thank you in advance
hi im new to WM5, i used to have a nokia smart phone. i wanted to know how i can send sms messages to muliple mobile phones quickly. without having to continually going through my contact list and selcting each one, one at a time. thanks.
At the "To" line, type the name (or some letters) of the first person, select the contact from the list that appears, press enter, a ";" appears after the name, which means you can enter another contact after that.
Good luck with the Windows Mobile Experience!

I'd like to change my left softkey when on the Today screen to say "New SMS" and when pressed bring me to the SMS screen.
I saw mention this that is can be done using tmail and some switches, but if I am using DVD 3.0.4 with Arcsoft 5.x, what would the command be to do so?
Thanks,
Jef
I dont know the command line switches off hand. I think you would create a shortcut to the messaging APP with the command line -to. Here is the actual shortcut for New SMS. I included shortcuts for New Appointment, New Mail, New Note, New SMS, New Task.
Hello, just wondering if there was a easy way to map the email tab on the new WM 6.5 lock screen so it does not bring up the Outlook email, instead it would open the new email directly? Thanks

This will allow you to redirect the application launched, however you will still need a program or option that will load up the email directly
Ok so I changed it to \windows\tmail.exe
So we will see what happens shortly, thanks for the help.
Worked like a charm thanks, your the man!

Hi I have a problem with the lockscreen and its SMS/TEXT Notification. If my mobile is locked and it's receiving a message or a call, the number of missed items will be displayed on the slider. But if the mobile goes to suspend mode it will loose the number of SMS on the slider after waking up again.
Do you know why and how to fix that?
I was just going to ask if there was away to extend the slider notification time, (if thats what it is). I do find if you don't unlock soon after a new email / txt or whatever is downloaded the sliders notification disappears.
any of the numerous more knowledgable people in this forum know what registry setting would set the lockscreen slider to open manila sms when i get a text?
