I know according to the website the developers never planned to bring the WinMo version of BeeJive out of beta, but have the finally dumped it altogether?
BeeJive just stopped on me yesterday and would not reconnect to Google Talk (the only IM service I use). I finally reinstalled it, but now I can't "activate" the app. It says it can't "obtain a key".
Anyone know if that means the developers just killed it entirely? If so, I need a decent Google Talk client. Suggestions?
BTW... I can't get fring to work either. Is it no compatible with TP2 or 6.5.1?
Thanks!
Beejive died on me yesterday as well. It disconnected with some error (I wasn't paying too much attention as I was in a lab) and when I tried to reconnect about an hour later, I was unable to. Hasn't worked since. Farewell, Beejive.
I don't use Google Talk personally, so I won't be able to help you out there.
I kinda had the same problem last night.. it kept showing me an error saying it couldnt display a message because I didnt have NCFv35Messages.EN.wm.cab but receiving this message was after i installed NCFv35 thinking i had an older version.. i downloaded the cab it wanted me to get but still didnt work so i just hard reset and didnt install NCFv35 after that and its working good again.. and also, with the activation.. just try again at later times, dont give up.. itll activate after a few hours..
BTW, i dont know about having it on 6.5.1 but im running Timor v8 and it works fine..
You were right, it did work again! I was starting to get really desperate since the official AIM was freezing up like crazy. Thanks!
I've been using Beejive for over a year and have noticed that the service has simply stopped working several times. Sometimes the outages have laster over a week. So far, it has always come back...
When Beejive isn't working, I use Slick 0.50 (http://slick.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile), a simple Java app that also connects to Google Talk (the only IM protocol I need).

Nope, it doesn't. Don't know why yours did, but I assure you if this were a widespread case (as you imply), everyone using push email would have complained by now!
My AS is always on (use a "live" exchange server), and I download files on a regular basis. Everything works great!
Sorry bud, AS being on shouldn't effect anything really. Maybe you're having other problems that coincidentally stopped when you freed up more memory?
Mine seems to do the same. When on the net, and DL'ing a file, if activesync is running in the background it will freeze the PPC up. Only a soft reset will get it back.
weird.
glad to see that i'm not the only one. some people seem to want to dismiss the issue . maybe more people will find this site and speak up about this issue.
sure is annoying
Ok. I Flashed Tnt 11.0.0.3 Onto My Phone And All Was Good For A While. Well I Noticed That Aftr About 30 Minutes Of Not Being Used When Someone Calls Me Or Text Me I Never Recived The Call Or Text Nor Does My Phone Say I Missed A Call Or Anything. So I Tried Flashing The 2.71 Radio To The Phone From The 2.51 Still The Same Thing. So Then I Flash Tnt 11.0.0.2 Back On The Phone From What I Recalled Work Fine Still Same Thing Going On. I Tried Setting The Power Settings On The Phone To Where Only The Backlight Turns Off And Unchecked The Boxexs That Say `turn Device Off If Not Used For...` Still Same Thing Going On Any Advice Out There Or Any Simular Experiances? Thanks Btw I Typed This From My Phone Sorry If It Looks Sloppy Thanks
try using radio 2.19.11
so far so good, i flashed the radio you suggested and i seems to be a perfect fix so far, ill see in the morning, was that a wild guess or was there reason behind youe suggestion? thanks btw
it's the only radio that works properly for me. When I started flashing my phone, Of course I wanted the latest (you'd think latest and newest is better), but I had the same problems you did. When I found one that worked for me I stuck with it and have never been tempted to change it again.
well the problem is gone and solved. thabks. the only thing is that I never get a notification o voice mai. been an issue for a while not a big issue but any way to fix that. thanks
ive had the same problem since i got the phone, tried with many roms and radios and didnt work, hope this solves the problem for me too!
lilroud, the voicemail notification problem could be caused by some email client you have installed.. ive read about that problem in the forum dont remember where..
finally found this thread again, just wanted to say thanks, the problem is loooong gone, phone working like a charm
Hey guys I have JFv1.42 RC33 on my phone. Everything works great except I've been noticing that my auto rotate doesn't work anymore in browser and reg screen using "DroidSans Tweak Tool" I thought that the app just malfunctioned or something.
Today I recently installed "Shoryuken" an app involving the use of the accelerometer, and none of the functions were working, I thought it was just the app so i uninstalled/reinstalled and rebooted several times. Still doesn't work.
So I came up with a test to see try and figure out if the accelerometer was working or not, my beloved game, PapiJump. Sadly he only jumps vertically up. So thats when I figured my accelerometer doesn't work.
Is there a fix for this? If there is, what do I do? If there isn't...What should I do?
try to install the rc33 again. it happend to me too and a reisntallation fixed it.
amir
yea I tried that twice, it didnt work.
Anyone else have any ideas how I can fix this?
Did it stop after you did somethin new to your phone or just stopped for no reason? Drop your phone at all?
Hopefully its just a software issue, maybe you can downgrade to r29 check it then. If not i might just be broken.
Unroot and return to tmobile?
I think it stopped after i dropped my phone? But I'm not sure because I don't use my phone for much that requires the accelerometer.
Think u busted it
If u bought it from tmobile call them and tell them it stopped wokin suddenly. If not not much u can do... it might decide to work again someday. Google search g1 dismantle guide or accelerometer repair, somethin like that. Maybe someone has done this repair b4
EDIT: i dont recommend u do this unless u REALLY need ur accel. Its prob not worth riskin mricking ur phone over
OMG A FIX
Guys so today, my friends were messing with my phone and they guessed too many times on my password and my phone was locked out. I needed my email and password to unlock it. This has happened twice before sadly...anyways I was going to call tech support, but I needed yo unlock my phone. I spent all of the school day trying to unlock my phone, even though the information was correct it wouldn't not unlock. I got PO'd that I would have to hard reset, when I did, after installing some of my applications again, my Accelerometer worked again!
HOORAY!!! so if this happens to you, hard reset your phone before calling tech support maybe it'll work!
Haha, nice Peter.
Grats. I got the Shoryukin app to work too. Bwahahaa.
me too its amazing lol
I installed JF 1.5 and now I can't receive mms messages. I can send them but can't receive them. I tried putting a different sim in the phone, and now my accelerometer does not work at all. It seems strange that switching sims would cause this, but I can't think of anything different that I did. I switched sims before with other roms and haven't had this problem. I'm going to try resetting my phone later tonight.
My wife flashed her hero to the official sprint 2.1. She had never rooted or flashed a custom rom before, so her going to the official 2.1 didn't really bother me much. However, now she's running into an issue with her data not working. A couple days ago she noticed she wasn't getting her e-mail. Strangely enough, mine quite working too (I'm on fresh 2.1.1). I rebooted my phone and mine started working. So I went to her wireless and network settings and turned off her data. I then turned it back on and after 30 seconds or so it said it was connected and everything started working just fine.
The strange part is there are no errors and even when the phone tries to check e-mail, it doesn't report any errors. Now, on my phone when this happened, my HTC Mail app threw a fit because it couldn't connect to the exchange server. Since I could refresh my gmail account and got no errors I thought it was just our exchange server. I signed into my account on my PC (for exchange) and it was in fact working fine. After I rebooted (just this one time as mentioned above) gmail kicked off with new mail and exchange connected fine.
Today, she has told me 3 times now that she went in and reset the connection (turn it off and back on) and a while later it would quit working again. She turns her phone off every night, but for good measure I am having her reboot it now.
Anyone else have this issue? She never had this problem on 1.5, so I don't think it's hardware. I've only had the issue once, but I'm also not in her area right now (tower related, maybe? My data borked when I was at home where she is at right now).
Thanks

This does seem like a tower problem. However, if you want to troubleshoot, you could always reset your data settings via the Sprint ## codes.
For data, enter this code: ##3282# on your Dial Pad. Give it a second and it'll ask if you want to view or edit your settings. Trouble shooting this problem would mean you have to Edit the settings, but in order to edit them you need your MSL code, which can be obtained by either contacting Sprint CS and asking them for it; or you can search around here on XDA and I'm pretty sure some people posted other ways to get your code.
Once you have your MSL code, choose edit when you get the pop up window and then click on your menu button -- there should be an option for you to choose reset -- enter your MSL code and your phone will reboot.
This may or may not fix your problem; I've had success whenever I've had data problems.
Hey thanks! I did a search for MSL and found a thread with a procedure to get it through CDMA workshop but the drivers don't want to work with Windows 7 x64.
However, my wife was complaining the other day that it takes a long time for her phone to start ringing when someone calls. I think I'll call sprint tonight when I get home and just tell them I need to fix that and see if they give me the MSL... Might kill two birds with one stone.

On the taking a long time to ring:
1) Move the ringtone off the SDcard into the phone, in some cases the SD card is to slow to read it fast enough. - Worked for a buddy of mine
2) There is a polling rate you can set when you get the MSL - but I have heard sprint forces a particular rate from the tower even if the phone has one set. - This will also decrease battery life.

This may be too obvious of an answer, but have you tried using the device self service tool and updating your profile and prl?

No problem, hope everything works out.
I had the same problem, took it to the sprint store (Waste of time!) and ended up hard resetting it, seems to have fixed the problem. you can hard reset by turning off the phone and then holding down the end, back and home buttons and selecting "clear storage" or "clear user data" (sorry, can't remember the exact wording). It will completely reset the software but it will wipe the data off your phone.
I got her MSL code via the logcat method that was just recently posted and reset her data and also changed her slot index. Although some people say that it is overridden at the tower, I also changed her priority. I updated her PRL as well. Before, it was ringing after I would hear about 3.5 rings, sometimes 4 full rings. Now it's ringing on the second ring. Also, her data was essentially turning off after about 30 minutes. After doing all of the above, she is saying it hasn't stopped working yet.
Thanks for all the suggestions, looks like it might be fixed.
Well it's still not fixed. She has it happen a couple times a day and now my phone is doing it too. It's not happening consistently that I can tell, just seems to randomly stop working.
Also, I'm on Fresh 2.1.2 and I'm getting some really really bad lag. I don't use any custom ringtones, just the ones that came with the phone and sometimes my phone will start to ring and the only way I know is because the vibrate starts. Then a good 3 seconds later I'm still getting a black screen as the phone is trying to tell me who it is.
I will randomly pick up my phone to surf the web too and it won't respond or do anything for like a good 10 - 15 seconds. I open up ES Task Manager and usually one of the mail apps is trying to update with like a 5% - 10% cpu usage, but that's all that has any CPU percentage. I'm not really sure what to try next. I've removed some apps that I don't really use and a couple that I just recently installed just to see if they are the culprit.
I'm using the Launcher Pro Beta too. Maybe that's it?
I've had a similar issue... only happened to me a couple of times since the update though... but I've just been turning "airplane" mode on and then off it turns off the radio and then turns it back on... seems to have worked for me...
again.. for me it's only happened a couple of times since the update to 2.1 so it could be a different issue.
I never thought of airplane mode. Doing what her and I are doing just reconnects data, not turning the radio on and off. I'm going to have her try that next and see if that fixes it. She says that she turns the phone off every night, but maybe she isn't some nights.
I have a Tmobile G2 that I just got a week ago. I played around with it for a couple days before deciding to root it, but finally pulled the trigger. Two days after rooting it a very strange thing happened. In the middle of the evening some of my Google applications stopped syncing. Gmail, Voice, and Contacts stopped. Drive still worked. Hangouts still worked... It was just weird. I clicked around for awhile and hit the interwebs to find the solution or to see if there was some widespread google outage again, but nothing.
I did everything I could think of, and then I finally clicked the option to take the phone back to stock. I know it wasn't going to take away my root, but at this point I wasn't thinking root was the problem. I just thought maybe I installed something that messed up the phone or something. Anyway, I took it back to normal and now the problem was weirder. It wouldn't even let me connect my Google account (or any google account) to the phone. It kept saying there was some sort of server error. I called TMO support and they couldn't figure it out either. They gave me a number to call Google support to let them fix it. They said that this was a 'known issue' and google support would be the one to fix it.
I kind of got nervous that they were going to creep into my phone or something and void my warranty. If my phone was broken and wouldn't connect to Google anymore then I at least wanted to be able to return it to the store and get a new one. I kinda like this device. So I un-rooted it and took it way back to stock. That fixed the problem. I don't know why, but it did. It left SU on the phone, so I'll have to get that off if it has issues again, but for now it is working fine.
Any idea why it would have just suddenly stopped connecting to Google? It connected to Drive just fine and several other apps, but the important ones wouldn't work. Unrooting it did the trick, but that would suck if you have a really great setup built. Oh well... The price you pay for being a hacker I guess.

Google had problems with their servers, many services were unavailable... had most probably nothing to do with you rooting...
You just picked the right time to do that.
Google from time to time have some problems. But not related to rooting.

That's kind of what I thought, but it was miraculously healed when I unrooted it. It could have just been strange timing, but there was nothing on the web about anybody else having this issue. I'm talking about this past Saturday morning, though. February 1st. I know about the google issue a week or two ago, but this was only affecting my mobile apps and wasn't the same thing. I was able to access gmail on the computer just fine. I could even access it from the phone's browser fine, but connecting the Google account to the phone was not possible. All I kept getting was 'cannot make a reliable connection to the server' error, so that is why I took the phone back to stock and then all the way back to unrooted. Unrooting it solved it, so I don't think it was just a google server issue which only affected me between the hours of 7:30 on Friday night till Saturday afternoon when I finally gave up and unrooted. It could have been connected, but I doubt it.
Which rooting guide did you follow?

I'm having the same problem. I deleted my account and recreated it. But auto-sync does not work. This has nothing to do with syncing. That works - but I have to sync manually. If I manually sync it from either the app or from the accounts option in settings it works fine. But it won't sync again. I deleted the account, restarted the phone and added the account again. Still doesn't work. If you root it and run into the same problem, please post again. I'll unroot too then.
I know this used to work at some point. I don't know when it stopped working. But it's not been working for days now.

I don't recall. The root part worked fine. I was able to use several of my apps which require root access and they all worked fine for a couple days. It just seems really random that this would all stop working one day.
So here is the timeline.....
Monday 1/27/14 - phone arrives
Wednesday - Rooted
Friday evening - Strange sync issues
Saturday morning - restored to stock while keeping root (did not solve problem and now I cannot connect any google account)
Saturday afternoon - unrooted and restored device (solved problem and google account synced fine after)
That was all in the same week. I've only had the phone since last Monday. It is worth saying that my HTC G2 and my wife's HTC G2 didn't have any issues with google syncing during this time. Totally different products, but I really tried to find anything to link the problem to something systemic and not just a device issue.
I haven't rooted it again just yet. I need to do it before I go too nuts re-installing the apks on my machine anyway. I'll definitely post again if I have problems again, but I really want to believe it was just something left over from whatever bug plagued Google a couple weeks ago.
