I have a problem. I use my phone as an alarm to wake me up for work.
I have set the alarm and checked it, and it works when the screen is on. But when the screen times out, the alarm doesn't start.
Anyone have this problem and know how to solve it?
My sister has the same problem with hers, anyone got a fix? :S
Hi,
I had the same problem, you solve it going to alarm setting and increasing the volume up to max... this seems to solve the issue.
I've got the same problem but only when there is not the phone sim inside.
I have this problem too. I solve it by shutdown the tattoo and then start it.
happens to mine too, I have to set it as "stay awake" so the alarms will work porperly =.=
I used to have this problem before which gets resolved by restarting.
However, I was using Astro as a task killing program which caused the error even after putting the clock on the ignore list.
Actually, using Taskiller solved the issue.
Assuming its not a taks manager thing...
On the Tattoo (and Android), there are quite a number of volume controls compared to a normal phone. Ringer is handled seperate from Alarm, then there is also Notifications, System....
I had this problem (a silent alarm), and so have a number of others. Some combination of apps turn down the alarm volume. But there is a simple way to solve it.
Instal Audio Manager from the market. This lets you see all the different settings. You will probably see the alarm turned down to 0. Turn it up and the alarm works. It also has a widget so you can keep an eye on the different volumes.
I did worry that I would have to check the alarm volume every night, but actually it seems I don't have to -- not sure why, but the alarm is very seldom at 0 now.

i had this problem once - after using task killer and the default kill tasks function - dont think the ignore list works that well
ignore the clock process and deactivate update clock at network
I stopped using ATK, and the alarms works just fine right now.

Hi guys!
I have a problem with my Jamin: I made some test with the alarm:
I set the alarm for all the days of the week at one time... I change the time and set it up for all the work days of the week.
Well, the alarm ring but: it doesn't repeat the alarm even if the checkbox is checked and the Jamin rings at the previous time too (but I have only one alarm set in the alarms tab!).
I've got the last ITA ROM....
Any idea? :-(
If I understood you correctly, you need to set Repeat feature in Settings>Personal>Sounds and Notifications>Notifications>Reminders
I just checked out: it's checked!
The alarms are an unsolved mistery...
Try Chronos, a multi alarm program, is great and works totally independen of wm5 so you can give off the phone volume and the alarms works with their own rings!!!

Hi. One extra vote for chronos here. Program works great! Even when you totally shut the device off and on it will remember your alarm times etc.
PLUS - its independent of WM5 volume (option adjustable) so you wont get some ridiculously soft ring which doesnt have a chance of waking you up in the morning.
You can even precisely set the vibration settings. (ie. 600ms on, 400ms off)
This is the alarm program par excellence IMO.
ive had problems with my previous and current wm5 devices regarding the alarms not going off and the device not waking me up in the morning......im gonna try this Chronos software for a month and keep you guys posted.......
Sometimes, my default android alarm just doesn't ring in the morning, even though i'm sure it is supposed to ring..
The screen just turns on at the alarm time, giving me an option of snooze or dismiss, but there is no sound or vibrate notification at all.
I've googled it up, and seems like a ton of ppl are having this issue.
Anyone here know a quick fix regarding this? thanks!

I found that the stock sounds were too short to wake me up so I downloaded a new clock app for free called digital clock. It has worked great for the last week I have been using it
change time zone
I have the same problem until i change the timezone to the correct one, then it worked for me.
I had this problem with my Rogers Magic also -
When you're inside the "choose an alarm sound" menu and scrolling through the list,
if you press the volume buttons on the side of the phone then you can manually adjust
the alarm sound (mine was set to 0). Not sure what causes it to set to zero,
presumably when you take the phone off silent mode it sometimes fails to update the
alarm as well? This still needs looking at because it means the alarm volume resets
to zero of its own accord, but it can at least be managed by manual readjustment.
Hope this helps!
P.S. It might also be worth noting that when I was having this problem, no
third-party alarm apps would play the stock alarm sounds either.

lol I had this problem way back in my g1 days. I've tried everything from not closing the app from not allowing the phone to sleep. It seems to work at
random. This bug never seems to have been addressed with any updates or in the roms. I just use my alarm clock, its a hell of a lot more reliable. If you travel just get one of those clam shell clocks like my dad uses haha.

That's it right there.
Has anyone had the problem where the alarm on the alarm clock rings a single time and them stops ringing?
I have the checkbox in the control panel checked for repeat sound yet it seems to have started only ringing once (which is really annoying if you're a heavy sleeper).
Any help would be appreciated.
Yeah, I have that too. The only thing I've found it to be sure your reminders are on and it will remind you in a few minutes that you missed your alarm. Unfortunately the reminder tone will play at the end of your alarm tone as well so I picked a reminder that sounds OK with my alarm....
Hopefully someone will have a better solution.
p.s. I've noted that if attached to external power the alarm will repeat but if not, it won't. Seems it sleeps right after the alarm if alarm sounds when screen is locked and won't wake to continue the alarm.....
I suspected it was a power saving method but it's a pretty lousy method if it breaks the primary usage.
I decided to install a 3rd party alarm clock called Klaxon. It's free and it works great.
Just got my DX (2.2) yesterday and the first thing I have noticed just like my Droid 2 Global is that the Alarm sound is really low. I mean the vibrate of the phone woke me up, I picked up the phone and I could barely hear the Alarm sound. I have looked in sounds/volumes etc... and the Alarm sound is turned all the way up.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
My alarm sound was loud as heck on my D1 with the same settings.
Oh and how in the heck do you make it so every time I either plug in my usb or reboot while it is charging that Verizon's V-Cast Media center website doesn't keep popping up. That is so annoying.
Found my Answer, it was in the Motorola icon on my desktop. Had to set it to nothing instead of web site
another
I just noticed that when I got into Battery Manager and hit the battery to see what is using my battery, it Force closes every time.
I'm starting to thing my D2G is a better phone.
Did you check to make sure the alarm clock app isn't set to gradually raise the volume? Check in that particular alarm's settings.
Well I did look at it but I thought I had it set correctly. Thanks for the help, now I will get up in time.
I think I get so use to things being set up a certain way that I forget the simplist things when it comes times to use it again.
Heck I couldn't even remember how to keep my screen on while charging!!! DOH
Hey guys I was wondering if anyone else is having alarm issues? I got the s7 last weekend and I work night shift so I set my alarm for 2:50pm. Everyday it goes off at 2:30 but with a different alarm tone.
nope. mine goes off daily at 630 on the dot.

Make sure there's not a conflicting app that changes things! I was using audio manager pro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartandroidapps.audiowidget&hl=en
for a while. After the Marshmallow update.....forget it. It would reset my notification sounds every time it was active from the toggles I set up. Drove me up the wall for a couple of weeks because I couldn't figure out why the phone was doing that.
Some apps have a setting for the ringtone and if left at "default" it may actually pick up the actual original default of the phone, not anything you set as default. That's what this app did. Basically, for me- what was happening was every time the app to scheduled the sounds to be at a certain volume, as soon as it would change back, it would reset to the default sound.
I went one by one uninstalling apps to see if it persisted, if so, I'd reinstall an app, then go on to the next with the same process. I lucked out and found it after a few apps which was causing it. I ended up switching to Volume Control https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=netroken.android.persistfree&hl=en and it does everything the audio manager pro app did that I wanted and more.
(for the record, I wanted a widget that showed the levels, single toggle widgets for certain levels like mute, off, low, loud, as well as scheduling multiple time frames for different days to have the sounds at certain levels),
Anyway- point is, it could be in an app that you have that manages the sounds or alarms or something of that nature....you might think about checking to see if it impacts things by the uninstalling/reinstalling process until you narrow it down.
