After receiving my X1 yesterday, I was TOTALLY disappointed. What a piece of shi*
The thing is SLOW, the screen is TINY, and the panels interface....what a waste of time and energy. I've always used WM phones in the past and owned the original iPhone and then the 3G iPhone. I love my iPhone and hate it at the same time (don't worry this isn't an iPhone fanboy post). I need my cut and paste, and overall basic functionality without having to jailbreak the damn thing to make i do what I want.
So I thought I would cop an Xperia. It didn't last 24 hrs before I decided to RMA that puppy right back to SonyStyle.
What I hated about it:
- Screen was TINY. I was really shocked at how small it was. The screen and the unit itself. The web pictures and reviews don't really paint a picture of how small this thing is. Small and light is good, but the screen is crappy after coming from an iPhone.
- Touchscreen? I think not. The touch screen is no more touch than a PPC-6700.
- SLOOOOOOOW
- After charging it and waking up this morning the screen was defunct. It was like the contrast was turned all the way up or something. The sceen looked totally washed out. Major disappointment.
Overall I was just really let down. This phone is not work $799. Maybe I set my expectations too high, but it wasn't at all what I was expecting.
Not to mention I was already thinking about putting TouchFLo on it, then I said...why am I trying to put TouchFLo on this piece of crap when I can just get me a Touch HD and be done with it.
I want the CLOSEST thing to an iPhone style setup but with ease/convenience/flexibility of Windows Mobile. I PRAY that I won't be disappointed with the Touch HD I just purchased.
I understand how you feel. If I were you, I would have just installed TF3D onto your xperia. That's the clostest to an iphone setup. I have an iphone too and it takes some getting use to the xperia touch screen.
almost the opposite, after using it for the day, im put my iphone 3g up on ebay for sale
using Touch-IT Xperi.v3.5 and disabled the panel and X key, it is fast and responsive. the only disappointment is the screen is lower than surrounding. really good resolution.
Also topic creator, HTC makes this "crap" phone that you speak of (xperia) Same company who makes the touch HD
Yea I understand I would try it with the new updated ROM R2 (but you have already RMA'd it) but I felt the same way - for the price it should be much better - I feel the real problem is with the software and the latest SONY released ROMs have made the phone actually work.

I'm fully aware that HTC makes the Xperia. I'm sure Sony had a lot to do with how they wanted their phone to operate. I'm generally just not pleased with it. I feel good about the Touch HD. I think it's going to be the closest I can get to a Windows Mobile funtional OPEN phone with iPhone like useability. I should have known the X1 wasn't going to be much different from an old PPC-6700 that I owned back in the day.
That's cool man but I would have gave the xperia some more time. I was going to get a touch HD myself but couldn't pass up the price I got for the xperia. And with the new update, touchFlo 3D is butter smooth.

Have you heard of customizing the phone to suit your needs? If you want it to perform out of the box, then you should have stuck with your iphone
you should read what are you buying. Xperia is a professional device, made for use with a stylus or to be customized with alternative interface.
I you want a soap box ready to use go to buy an iphone
different target, different potential, different users
All the customizing in the world couldn't make up for the work needed to get that Xperia up to par.

X1 --- You gotta love it
the iphone is a joke compared with any decent windows mobile device... a gadget that you have to "jailbreak" just to do something without going the manufacturer's way is a ****ing ****.
anyways, my X1 is fast, actually is one of the fastest (in overall experiencie) wmo devices out there. also, the screen is not tiny, sure the iphone or the touch hd are a bit bigger, but hey, the x1 itself is smaller! do you understand that you can't get both things (smaller device + bigger screen = fail).
i don't understand why you decided to get an x1 if you were happy with the form factor of the iphone. i would have thought that the touch hd iis the closest match.
personally, i'm delighted with the x1. it's the first pocket pc i've ever had that actually feels like a phone rather than a pda in my pocket.
i'm more than happy to have a smaller screen if it means that the device is more pocketable, and i get a hardware keyboard too.
admittedly the panels aren't much to shout about but i've got absolutely no complaints about speed on my device. on the contrary, it's the fastest pocketpc i've ever owned.
hopefully the touch hd will be more suited to your needs ...

Mine is different. Clear screen, fast and wonderful. If I may say, this baby just know what I need.

i always get compliments about it! (more than an iphone would anyday) ok the panels are kinda a waste of space ...but still they are still cool.
and yes when i first got it i didnt like the speed and it did lag ...but its now a custom pocket rocket, no operator crap etc.
i would like to say a friend of mine has a iphone, played with it for a few hours and was very disapointed. apart from the flashy UI its really a rubbish phone (bought through a apple hype machine that tells u its cool to have one). the x1 was hard to get into but some remarks made are rubbish. small screen???? slow? i think not.
ps. bluetooth / mms on iphone anyone, screen rez is poor too and i heard it cant multitask. thats why it runs very fast.

u should also check out the phone before u buy it, i checked out iphone/htc hd and blackberry storm. its only when u have it in your hand and have a play u can really decide which is best for u. i needed the hardware keyboard
There's always individual need which is important.
Many many users rather want a device to "feel right" than "do a lot". And that's fine.
However IMO the author makes two mistakes: X1 screen is many times better than iPhone, and "iPhone" usability is laugh compared to X1...

Do you find that it is too big? I know that seems like a silly question... but I thought I would ask before I get mine.
I haven't had a chance to hold one, or an HD2 either (similar size)... I've only held a demo HD2 that was attached to those pull cords and it was hard to tell with it attached to that thing..
How does it fit in the pocket / hand?
For me, the size is great. It actually fits better in my pocket than the Verizon Droid, which was also given to IO attendees. Sure it's not as compact as the Hero but the quality of the screen and size more than makes up for extra space it takes up in my pocket. It fit in my work pants and jeans just fine, I wouldn't go back to a smaller screen.

They got the EVO only.
The size is perfect for me. At first I was like "ZOMG HUGE!" but that is just in comparison to the tiny Hero. It fits perfectly in my hand, but I haven't tried putting it in my pocket for more than 2 minutes. I really want a belt clip for this baby. Hopefully Seidio is going to send me one to demo.
IO attendees got the Motorola Droids sent to them before the conference so they can "get familiar" with Android, at the conference we got the Evo. Folks outside the US got Nexus Ones instead of the Droid.
I got a Moto Droid and a Sprint Hero for sale if anyone is interested.
The size of the Evo is excellent. I love it. It feels good in the hand and it's not bulky like the Droid either. It's really nice.
The size is great for me. I keep hearing some people say they have heard about it being small for some people's hands...blah blah blah...
When I hear somebody else say they heard someone else complained about something, I tend to not believe it.
I have heard no one who has touched the phone (I had an HD2 before and have an EVO from Google I/O now) do anything but LOVE it.
Bonnie from CNET did say she thought the HD2 was a little too big for her to use one handed. Of course she is about 4 foot 2 with tiny hands. And she still gave it an awesome review. And used it two handed I assume.
My hands aren't tiny, but they aren't massive either (I'd say slightly larger than average). And in my hand it just fits. I was worried about putting it to my face, but I have had 0 issues wiht it in actual use.
As for my pocket...prior to the Evo I was a clip/puch Nazi. I would never consider buying a phone that didn't fit in my Mogul case. Now I'll never buy another phone that doesn't fit in my pocket as well as this one.
It's so thing that my jeasn and khakis never feel like they're crushing it!!
I DO advise a screen protector (Ghost armor on mine currently!) to keep keys and face oil away!
Works great in one hand but if you are using your thumb and holding the phone at the bottom and you need to click something at the very top you need to reposition your hand. Not a big issue but can be a pain when driving.
This phone and the HD2 are the perfect size, the "sweet spot" in mobile devices. Any bigger no good, any smaller no good.
They say "size does matter", it sure does!!

I took my iPod touch to a T-Mo store to compare it to an HD2 to get a feel for the EVO's size... Frankly I expected it to be larger, and the HD2 also seemed larger to me when I had previously held it w/o having the iPod to compare it to. Once I had the iPod touch right there next to it I realized how small the difference is... With a silicon sleeve around the iPod it ends up being just as wide as the HD2, down to the millimeter, and it's like maybe half an inch shorter (length-wise)...
For any guy who doesn't wear tight pants I don't think the size makes any difference whatsoever, you just have a larger/more readable screen. For the ladies it might make more of a difference if they tend to slip their phone in back pockets or w/e (as my sister does) rather than a purse. The way I see it, if you're gonna have a touchscreen phone w/o a physical keyboard, then you might as well have as large a screen as possible while still remaining comfortable.
At this point I'm sold, I don't think I'd want anything w/a smaller screen unless it has a nice physical keyboard w/a perfect layout (something that seems to elude manufacturers all too easily).

I am pleased with o2's phone releases since losing exclusivity on the iphone, and this recent release is quite impressive (and huge!).
Anyway, thoughts please...comparisons etc.

i was considering getting rid of my hd2 for it..but then again..my pockets arent big enough for that phone lol..
so i decided to jsut stick with the hd2 untill they can port android on it or tmobile gets another android device with a 1ghz processor

Dell are calling this a tablet to be in the same class as the iPad. So considering the streaks screen is only .7 inches bigger than a hd2's what does that class our device as? A mobile phone, a PDA or a tablet? By Dells reconing it would be a tablet but the streak is really nothing more than a PDA with a phone module. If you look at it this way i'd rather keep my HD2.
I would like to have a play with one to see what its like, but according to the specs, its is huuuge! Would dwarf my HD2.
My feelings are I have had my HD2 for about 8 months now and it is still top end smartphone on the market. Not many other phones I have owned I can say that about. Roll on the next 8 months!
Thanks for the comments so far. I do not think that the Streak's screen size is big enough to warrant calling it a tablet, also, the casing around the device just makes it bigger than it needs to be IMO.
IMHO, I feel that the HD2 is still the best device on the market simply because no two look alike once XDA possesses your soul, and I am still interested in it 8 months on.
Come on competitors, what else can you throw at us? Try harder!
This is exactly the sort of device that I'd replace my HD2 with IMO. Rather than trade down for something with a smaller screen, because lets face it, I don't think any HD2 owners would ever consider doing this after experiencing such ease and clarity with a bigger screen, so the only option is to upgrade in size, and this device certainly ticks the boxes for me.
I love my HD2 and everything that I've been able to do with it since reading & putting into practice all the tweaks that I've learnt of this site, but I'm now feeling like enough is enough as miss the android feeling as it's more 'with the times' than WM. Android itself is growing at an alarming rate and will no doubt be the number 1 mobile OS in a very short time, and the dell streak is the perfect device to complement it.
On a slightly lesser note, it's a shame the device didn't ship with 2.1 or 2.2 but I guess at the time of production, 1.6 was version on offer. I also think the price is good, so selling the HD2 and putting a few quid in seems well worth it.
Too big.
The step from HD2 with 4.3" and thin frame to 5" and thick border is the one that kills convenience and portability for not much. The HD2 is very comfortable yet just fits well in the pocket, but nothing bigger would, and on the other hand 0.7" don't change much in usability.
Android might be the (only?) interesting point.

It's really huge, not fit in pocket absolutely.
But the screen and colors somehow amazing. With TFT screen, the screen is like a bigger one of HD2.
At 1st, I like the way Dell skin the homescreen, smooth and fast. We can choose how many homescreen, and manage the background apps (somehow).
No double tap, just pinch to zoom when browsing, got flash too.
5mp camera seem not so good.
Looks good apart from it being landscape only. I prefer to hold devices in portrait unless viewing photos/movies, so this alone rules it out for me
Just done some more research and it appears that the Dell does have an accelerometer so should work in both landscape and portrait, can anyone confirm this? Can you type etc in portrait?
didnt know it was landscape only, I am sure this will change with an update though. I have to say I was tempted but I think android has a way to go yet, it hasnt even got a decent video player yet - coreplayer may change that soon though... (dont hold your breath though)
I want one. Hoped I could purchase one from the UK but I would have to move there to do so. Got to wait a month. I hate waiting for anything.

I'm really tempted by the Streak now. I love huge screen and rarely make phone calls, but I love Winmo too. It's hard to say goodbye with my HD2
I like big screens but the dell has a little too much unused extra dimension for me. I'll wait for the Sony Ericsson 5.5 inch android phone
Actually probably not, HTC will probably have a 5.5 inch out first with minimal bezel like the hd2, and I'd want to get that one.
I have been trying to replace my iphone for about one year. I haven't found anything where the plastic is as nice and I like the way everything looks on the the iphone screen. Tried a few WinMo phones, but everything always looked so TEENY on the screen. A few weeks ago I bought the Nexus One. For a day or two I considered selling it and moving on to the next device, but little by little I am liking it. [I wish the screen was bigger.] I was considering the Dell. I like the Android o/s - **LOVE** Swype. I am getting very good at it now. I had a tough time typing on the Nexus, but with Swype my 'Swypos' are minimal !!
I have Tmobile. Not sure what other phones I could use. Want to stick with Android though.
The only thing that impresses me about the Dell streak is the Gorilla Glass

And to think that I was thinking of getting a screen protector for this bad boy.
I took my friend to go get one yesterday, well what a joke, the guys in O2 aren't allowed to sell it sim free (in my town anyway), they didn't have one on show and we wanted to see it and have a play we both had to put our HD2's behind the counter so they would let us play with it for 5 whole mins (WOW).
So car-phone whorehouse we went 6 of the guys in their didn't even no what it was, even though there was a big poster on the wall, the one guy in there that could help, said yes we sell it sim free £429 i thought thats not bad considering, so he go's in the back to get one, comes out all red faced I'm so sorry guys we haven't even got it in stock yet, were not getting it till next week when the Dell rep comes, (What a joke surely you should no if you have that brand new device in the store yet), so as we walked out laughing we though Phones4U, hahahahaha never had such fun in my life spoke to a girl in there she just look puzzled, then the manager came over, he asked what we wanted explained what it was showed him the leaflet and he said were not getting that phone mate tbh were a sh%t store and just laughed. So he didn't get one went home and ordered one on-line, morale of the story don't go shopping in a poxy town like mine.
After playing with the device got to say it is fun, but

The HD 2 was and IS the best Smartphone on the market TODAY, until the HD3 comes
HTC has the most experience in building WM-devices and Android ones and - except obviously raped and misprogrammed Network-Provider-ROMS such as O2, Vodafone, T-mobile - has the most stable performance. I bought mine with HTC-stock-rom, and since ROM 1.48 (and the great mods from the geniouses here at XDA) no freeze occured ever. It is serving me without any flaw all over the world, and this is exactly the same experience that I always had with my Touch HD.

Really and you know this how? I played with one today and it's a great quality plastic and feels really good and it's to early to say if it scratches easily or not as no one has owned one long enough. If you mean the screen as well that's also wrong as that's made of Gorilla Glass and their was a video of someone attacking it with a ball point pen and no damage was done check YouTube or Engadget to see it.
Oh and that's not just MO either but that of others that have already got their Streak which includes Paul from MoDoCo. I'm still waiting for mine to arrive.

Really as Paul has just been running some tests on it seeing as he has already Rooted it yup in under 1 day it's Rooted and it's showing 408mb of free Ram so where do you get this low Ram idea from then.

Having now seen one hands on as opposed to just pictures or videos it is not as big as i thought it was going to be, now if it's to big for you only you can decide but it has to be bigger then an HD2 to fit in a 5" screen.

I have a rooted, with Cm 6.1 stable mod, EVO 4G. I hated the battery life on it, and it was a bit heavy in the shirt pocket. And T-Mobile is cheaper per month, by approx $30.
So I bought the Nexus-S yesterday morning, and set the EVO in a drawer. Now having it almost two days, I am really digging it, especially out of the plastic case, it feels so thin and feather light. And the Super AMOLED screen is drool worthy.
But a few things have been worrying me, I am afraid if this thing gets dropped, not sure it will handle a beating. And T-Mobile while good service, I did have a few dropped calls already, and flaky internet connections. I was pretty surprised by how near perfect Sprint has been these past 6 months I have been with the EVO, it is extremely rare to get a dropped call, and just spot on full bars everywhere in Chicago, and even in my basement Office, where ATT or T-Mo never worked there, only Sprint has been able to find a connection in Basement.
I pulled out my EVO, and I have both phones setup almost exactly the same, same live wallpaper, same widgets, and apps, clock. My EVO looks just like the raw 2.3, due to Cyanogen 6.1. Anyways, I was playing around with them both, side by side, and now undecided if I should keep the Nexus-S, they both feel almost the same.
I will say the Nexus-S is slightly snappier and a wee bit faster, and sure does feels nice in the hand and on the face with no case. The Nexus looks sweet with the cool screen technology. But is it worth the $600 I paid to have it out with no contract ?
One thing I did like about the EVO, was how flat and big it was, sure I didn't like the heavy thick feel of the EVO, but the large screen was easier for texting, the keyboard was big and nice to type on, the N-S with the curved screen, makes the keyboard look really small to me compared to the EVO.

It's only worth keeping if you're gonna sell the Evo.
Either way they both are strong phones I'd say. However I myself would stick with the pure Google. I'm never going to anything else ever again lol. Waiting for handset updates is the most frustrating thing ever.
As for dropping it. I once dropped my Vibrant. Walked into a water hydrant (yes). The back flew off, as did the battery and the SD card (which I didn't notice had shot out). Either way, it had minor scuffs on the bezel and battery cover after this. Bezel is easy to replace and battery cover is easy to replace. Screen was still flawless. What did I lose? A 16gb class 6 SD card full of source code backups. Good thing the Nexus S has internal storage, .

Good point, I did buy the N-S for the "pure" Android experience, and not having to run custom roms/themes, and million downloads and installs, just to get what this gives me right out of the box, stock. And with all those custom roms, and stuff, the EVO seemed a little more sluggish to me, than stock Sense UI.
Plus this screen is just so awesome, I love it. And really like the thinness and light weight of it compared to the heavy EVO.
Looks you are actually having second thoughts on keeping T-Mobile rather than device.
I've been on TMobile since 1998 and I don't think I've ever experienced a dropped call. Sprint as my work phone the last two years and never had one either. What happens? Phone just hangs up? Just bizarre to me

As long as you don't break the screen it should be very durable. The great thing about a plastic housing is that you can treat it like crap--a replacement back will probably run $5-$10, which is cheaper than any case you can buy. Metal phone housings are tres nice, but you're always paranoid about scratching or denting it (which, besides bringing tears to your eyes, lowers resale value).
My philosophy has always been that since I look at the screen and hold the housing, I'd prefer a phone with a great screen over a great housing (it's nice to have both, but you right now you have to choose).
That being said, I'd stick to the Evo. An Android phone loses the majority of its functionality if you can't get a signal, so in your case the Evo is the better choice (or get an Epic, which has SAMOLED and the same CPU/GPU as NS).

The longer I have this Nexus-S, the happier I am with it. It is just T-Mobile that concerns me, need a little more time with it. I have an office in the basement, and down here get crap reception. ATT on the iPhone rarely worked down here, or maybe 25% at best, Sprint was 90% reception, very good, and T-Mobile so far seems to be 75%, not too bad, I do get most texts down here right away, but not near perfect like Sprint either.
The EVO battery life was my #1 reason for looking for a different phone, it was horrible, and every smartphone review, always listed it dead last place for battery life, and the iPhone4 at the top. When reading reviews of the N-S, what sold me was that it is supposed to be closer to iPhone 4 battery life, and much better than EVO. So far after 3 days that seems to be true.
With this Nexus-S, I need to wear my sons bib around this screen, I am drooling all over it And I do like the lightweight and compact size, fits into a shirt pocket easily without weighing it down. The EVO in comparison was a brick, and would never fit in a shirt pocket, without weigh down and falling out almost. Even in Summer when wearing shorts, the EVO felt like a brick in the pocket, almost making your shorts droop. But I did like the large flat 4.3" screen on the EVO, that size is sweet, and easy to text, with the on screen keyboard. Just the colors blew on that phone, very washed out and way too much white light bleed.
I would LOVE the EVO, if it had a Super AMOLED screen, or something close to it, and if they could reduce the thickness and weight. And of course design it to use the less battery power, and last a whole day like the iPhone4 or N-S. Other than that, the EVO is a great phone. But T-Mobile pricing helped sweeten the deal. I need the full unlimited packages, I run my own business, and on phone most of the day sometimes, so minutes is a must, plus texting and data. The T-Mobile plan is a good $35 cheaper per month than Sprint, on exact same plan, and I have no contract to be stuck on, with T-Mobile So if there is a Nexus-M this summer/fall by Motorola, or they might call it the Nexus-3.0 for Honeycomb Android 3.0 OS, I might get that.

Hopefully within the next few days custom kernels will start cranking out and someone will port the WiFi calling app from the G2 or the MT4G which should help resolve your issue with your office. Assuming you have a wifi connection, that is.

Yes I have WiFi in my basement Office, and real work Office, I am a computer gamer junky, build my own Eyefinity systems
But not familiar with WiFi calling ? How does that work ?

instead of using the signal from the cell towers to make phone calls, it will use your wifi connection. It still uses your voice plan and thus costs minutes but its useful for situations like yours.

That's a brilliant idea. Will that be a market app, or must be rooted first I would assume to download and use that ? Then that would solve my biggest problem I had with T-Mobile, sometimes getting bad reception inside home or office.

It will require root because the WiFi app I speak of doesn't work on the Nexus S right now. It will require a custom kernel in order to port it over so it should happen within the next few days or so I'd imagine.
In the interest of fairness, there is one downside to it. The app won't switch dynamically, which means if you start a call on wifi and walk out of range, the call will drop period. Even if you walk into an area with absolutely perfect coverage.

Thanks for the info, but that kind of sucks then, if it drops the call cold turkey once you walk out of the WiFi range ? Phone hardware can't handle the smooth transition from WiFi to cellular at the same time I guess ?
I pulled out my EVO, and I have both phones setup almost exactly the same, same live wallpaper, same widgets, and apps, clock. My EVO looks just like the raw 2.3, due to Cyanogen 6.1. Anyways, I was playing around with them both, side by side, and now undecided if I should keep the Nexus-S, they both feel almost the same.

What do you mean by this? The Nexus S is running raw 2.3. No theme or bloat. This is the purest experience straight from Google. No more waiting on HTC/Sprint to get their act together or relying on Cyanogen and crew to make sure everything is working on thier build. Personally, I can't go back to my EVO after experiencing the screen and weight of the Nexus. The EVO just feels like a rock now, and I'm very satisfied with T-Mobile's data speeds over Sprint.

Today after 3 days with the Nexus-S, I agree with you. My EVO feels heavy like a brick now, and the screen color is so washed out and bland compared to Super AMOLED< no comparison. Plus the battery life on the N-S does seem to be much better than the EVO's so far. And the icing on the cake, T-Mobile is cheaper per month, for me a good $30 cheaper.
Plus T-Mobile seems to be the best Android carrier, they seem to get the best and latest phones pretty quick. They were first ever Android carrier with the G1, and then the first with the Nexus-One, and now the Nexus-S. And I prefer the "Nexus" idea, getting the untainted OS, sort of like Apple with the iPhone. Just buy a new Nexus every Christmas to have the latest and most pure Android phone.
Sure there will be new dual core faster phones early next year. I rather wait for the Nexus-3, by then dual core will be done beta testing on other phones, and the Android OS will be really optimized for it by next Winter. I wait for the dual core Nexus, not the any ol dual core coming out right away next year, no thank on the bugs and issues that may pop up. For now I am a happy Nexus owner. Will just plan to buy a new Nexus every year for now.

I will say the Nexus-S is slightly snappier and a wee bit faster, and sure does feels nice in the hand and on the face with no case. The Nexus looks sweet with the cool screen technology. But is it worth the $600 I paid to have it out with no contract ?
One thing I did like about the EVO, was how flat and big it was, sure I didn't like the heavy thick feel of the EVO, but the large screen was easier for texting, the keyboard was big and nice to type on, the N-S with the curved screen, makes the keyboard look really small to me compared to the EVO.

I'm in the EXACT same boat. I left TMO in june to get the EVO, and now I just switched back to get the NS. I'm trying to decide whether or not to keep it. On the one hand, I love the weight and size of the EVO. It's the number one reason I got it. Th3 4.3" screen is awesome for texting and videos. However, the LCD blows. 4g is alright, but I never use it because the battery on the EVO sucks so bad already.
On The other hand, the NS is pure google, which with the rate custom ROMs get ported over these days, isn't that big of a deal anymore. I'm sure 2.3 will get ported to all the other major phones within 2 weeks. The AMOLED screen is AMAZING. But the overall size and feel of the phone and screen are a bit prohibitive at the moment. Coming from such a big phone, the downgrade is def noticeable. Also, the phone feels...delicate. I'm scared to set it down.
The 1ghz Hummingbird processor FLYS. In side by sibe comparison with my EVO running CM 6.1, the NS always manages to open each app faster and scroll smoother.
So what's a guy to do? Keep the NS and compromise size and 4g to be on the bleeding edge of software development and better battery life? Or keep the EVO and stay with superior build quality while having a couple chargers on hand?

Personally, I find the Nexus to be the perfect size after using the EVO for so long. Often times I found myself having to stretch my hand to reach the notification bar, and the phone just seems too wide now. As far as the "build quality," my EVO's had unattractive light leakage from day one while the Nexus is perfect in every way. I think a lot of people have gotten stuck in the "heavier = better quality" rut. Just because the Nexus is light doesn't mean it isn't solid.

I will make final decision by Monday, after a full weekend with the Nexus-S, but leaning on keeping her
Nexus-S;
- T-Mobile is cheaper, almost $30 per month.
- Super AMOLED screen is amazing
- Lightweight and compact size easy to keep in shirt pocket, but still good size 4" screen
- Hummingbird processor is smoother at pulling apps and scrolling, not choppy
- Pure Android OS, no need for major custom roms, will get Honeycomb right away
EVO;
- Large 4.3" screen is easier to text on, and read
- Sprint service might be slightly better than T-Mobile
- 4G ( but never used but a few times, major battery )

Be aware that AMOLED can be a serious battery killer. Try to play Angry Birds and you'll know what I am saying.
480*800*3(color per pixel) light together can draw power like crazy.
