T-mobile ameo opera problem

Hi, has anyone had a problem with the opera/web and walk browser, coming up with a unsigned application error, on the tmobile rom, if so or if not can you send me the rom version you are using!! muchos appreciatos

Yes I have. Did you do a hard reset? I have seen this three times now after hard resetting my device. What I discovered was that half of the applications form the extended_rom were not installed including Opera. The shortcut is! This one is probably part of te rom.
To solve this install gsfinder or another explorer and go to \extended_rom\
Now open install all the cab files. Your problem is solved afterwards.

why not upgrade to the new (beta) version of opera.

the msi worked for me. i did do a sprite back up first though incase

Thats odd, my advantage already has v8.65 (obviously, not a beta either), what version does the Ameo have installed?

DOPOD has the 8.65 installed already as well (not beta)

My Ameo has also v8.65 and no beta.

i have a weird fault with opera on my ameo... it will launch fine the first time i load it. but then if i close and try and launch it again later i get the four colours spinning egg timer thin forever, only way to get it running again is soft reset..... anyone else got this
looked in running progs and killed everything there too..
possibily due to spb plus? or anyone got both running together fine

I also have a problem After two hard resets today, my opera vanishes from my device all together!
I'm not sure if it is the only missing software but is the only one i've noticed.
Any idea there I can get the cab to install it?
Imaginarynumber, you found only the beta? is it possible to get out of the provided cd?

Sorry,
I've tried using gsfinder, run the application on my ameo, Tools/Direct Path then gone to \extended_rom\ it shows it there, but it's empty
Any ideas? It's set to show "hide" "system" "ROM" files but still nowt.....

Urgent Problem, Blue Angel Freezes

I upgraded my Blueangel to windows mobile 6 a couple of days ago, yesterday i was reset it. when it powered on i have the windows mobile 6 screen and nothings happens thereafter, it is not connection to activesync and i m not able to ROM Upgrade.
Please help me ASAP

read the wiki carefully
try a hard reset after and do the no+yes+yes ritual in the hard reset.. it should worked...

baybe it is because third party software you installed, it happened to me with the touchflo which replaced the touch.dll with another one for another device, also with HTC Plus today plugin

I had it after installing VBAR... you have to reset it and press the record and camera button, then clear the registry HIVE and press the mail button... it will be hard resetted but in wm6 you don't lose any data, just some settings and cabs...

Yeah, I got this problem too a few days ago.. annoying...
When I tried to back up my data using Sunnysoft backup manager, BA had to restart, and then it stuck in the WM6 page... ended up clearing the whole thing again using the no yes yes option...BA was able to start up on safe mode though... weird
I only had this problem once though....
Hmmm, interesting few people have this problems with different circumstances, however leading to the same problem...
is it really WM6 issue or is it 3rd party apps issue?

good question!
it just happened to me as well.... i had an almost fresh install of WM2006 (just downgraded, merged Extrom and upgraded again).
I installed some few cabs and eventhough it worked fine for a day, it then started to freeze while booting again and again....
i never had the problem before merging the rom though...

it happened to me also, after doing a soft reset using pbar. it ends up in the green screen with the microsoft logo without going any further. i've tried several soft resets after but it always ends up in that mode.
had to perform a hard reset and install my favorite apps again.

well maybe there are some incompatiblityes with those programs you mentioned, i have not use them my BA has the default apps (the posted cabs) Sprite Backup 6, Htc Home 1.5, Adobe Flash Lite and i have no problems at all

have you installed all cabs you posted (cabs & cabs2)?
in what order?
whats Sprite Backup?
and which one is the HTC Home 1.5? (i only see HTC Home6?!?)

Sprite backup is the best backup softweare IMO, yes all cabs (cabs and cabs2) Home6 is HTC Home 1.5

there are three HTC HOME6 cabs out there:
1) Helmi HomePlug_Comp.cab: found in Helmi_C's WM2006 archive FLASH.zip
2) Helmi_HtcHome6_WM5_comp_sdkcert.cab: found in Helmi_C's WM2006 archive AddOn.rar
3) HOME6: an archive with two folders (WM5 + WM6) and HTCHome.cab
are there any differences?
is one better than the others?
i never found an answer to these questions...

Use Home6 if you want to be able to modify the HTC Home tabs from 6 (default) to less than 6..... this is the only one working....
With Helmi_HTCHome6.. it also works, but cannot modify the tabs......
never tried the other one....

OK OK I had this problem and it solved it without losing data. First i tried to reset the device , like 30 times with no success. Even with a hard reset it didnt work. So you just Put ur device in the booloader mode and then soft reset it and voila. i dont know if it's really the correct solution but it worked for me for 3 times when i had that dumb WM6 screen. It's because of Battery status software ( 100% sure )

Can anyone tell us which third parties programs that cause the freezing or which are compatible whit WM6. To used or avoid them.

same problem here. I just installed the cabs from helmi (Thanks again!), the HTC Home (Helmi_HtcHome6_WM5_comp_sdkcert.cab), Acrobat reader and powerpoint (out of this cabs in the first message in the central BA6 Thread) and no additional software. I've re-installed it two times, but that doesn't help .
@ Xeon: Maybe a good work-around, I will give him a try,

OK im again facing the same problem it seems my solution didnt work. As far as it seems to, i had to soft/hard reset more than 20 times to solve it. i dont get it. when i reset it the problem is still bla bla bla.. but when u leave it stuck for 10 mins and then reset it , it will work. the point is that after all , u dont need to format/clear registry. All u need is to keep trying. WEIRD [email protected]#[email protected]$#$

I keep having the problem after installing a new cab with a soft reset. The only way to get out of the WM6 screen is to go into bootloader and a soft reset. Just like Xeon said. However, I don't think it is the battery issue because if I just do a normal soft reset, it starts up fine. The problem arrives only when a soft reset is required to finish an installation from cab.

Be careful, read before installing new Opera 9.5-15529 (embedded flash working)

Edit: This opera version seems to have other severe issues thought (see next two posts), so be careful/do a backup before installing.... especially as it seems to be not un-installable

I have the problem, that the screen does not auto-rotate in this version!?
Is there any setting for that? Or another version, that works with screen-rotation on the HD?

I have more than one issue with that build... first of all, the installation finished with "unsuccessful" report, but the new version was installed anyway (but maybe not correctly (?))... i've got the following issues:
1.) The one above, auto screen rotation doesn't work... could be solved with gsen or gyrator however, i suppose
2.) Opera always starts automatically after each soft reset, I haven't found any registry or autostart entries on that
3.) I don't know how to uninstall it, as it's not listed in the "installed programs" list...
Any solutions for these issues?

Solved: Just go into the registry and delete the folder: HKCU\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\Apps\Opera9

Issue with start menu

I have a very strange symptom on my device. When I go to the start menu and try to scroll in the window it didn't refresh the screen, the icons are overlapping each other. This happening if I am go to a subcategory in the start menu as well. See attached screen shots. Right now it seems every other apps are working fine.
Issue caused by WMedia Support by Helmi's. I uninstalled but it did not helped at all
Any idea, how can I resolve this issue?
What I have done till now:
I have checked the install cab file - it seems all dlls were removed from the device (2 or 3 remained but the date of the files are the same when I coocked the ROM)
I have checked all files were created/modified on the day when install the codec, but I did not found anything.
I have tried install some start menu converter such like start menu grid, but they did not helped at all to solving this issue
ROM: Dutty WM6.5 LEO R4 WWE
Any help/idea would be appreciate.

I think you will need to Hard Reset your device as you mentioned that some critical system files may be missing. I don't think anything else can be done.

Change the tsk theme to classic blue then soft reset, then change it back.

Thanks for the hint, but unfortunately it did not help, any other idea apart from hard reset?

If no one else has reported the same bug in the chef's thread then flash a stock rom, then flash the Dutty rom again. Then hard reset twice. Then find an update to that program you installed that caused it in the first place.

I don't think it is related to the rom is much more the app I installed. If there won't be any other idea i will do a hard reset and check (might be update rom as well)

I also try to check registry changes what I found in the cab, but nothing special, at least for me

I installed scyscape on my hd2 mini, the icon is there and when i open it i can see only the contents and the index,but when i open any page it is empty
any ideas??

I have the same problem with a program called UPTODATE 18.2!
isn't it like a problem which we have with computers? I think by having some dll files or installing some programs like flash player or quicktime it would be resolved!

I've just found the solution...
I did a hard reset and then installed the uptodate and found the program works fine! Then I installed another program which adds a keyboard (arabic keyboard) and actually it was a program for adding a new language called multilanguage....
after the installation I saw that the uptodate has the old problem. So I made another hard reset and it works fine by now ;-)
The problem is probably related to such as these applications (programs related to language unicodes and scripts and maybe fonts!)
Wish you make it work and SORRY 4 bad english ;-)

I have just foundout the solusion yesterday, i made hard reset and reinstalled the uptodate and skyscape and the worked fine, but when I installed that multilang. Support as u said the problem s there again.
Here s the solusion:
After installing the programs for supporting Arabic (3 prog)
-restart the device
-Go to setting that in the bottom bar then press menu-all settings- and click on system
- then click the icon of the multilingual when it s opened check the box beside ”disable multilingual suppor
Restart the HD mini and the uptodate will work ok
I now need a big favor I need the source of the pda of the uptodate 18.2 caz I only have the old one
