How to disable homescreen weather animation? Thx
I don't think that this is the right place to ask the question (not relating to rom development). Did you search for it?
If you just change your wallpaper to just a static image, the weather wallpaper is disabled.
Jason
Yes i searched... Some ROMs this choice haven't. Only animated or weather wallpaper, not a static image Thx

How do I Change the Background of the Enlarge Start Menu and which manila file have this background image?
Please advice
Thank you and best regards
Seems that no body knows the answer, 75 views and no posts, great
idk but i was wondering the same...anybody
AFAIK it's not a manila file, it's in the TSK theme file.
You can change this with ThemeGenCE but be warned that the program will not handle the HTC Black theme file so you will need to start from scratch.
delete this
as far as i know the enlarged start menu will always turn gray when TF3D is enabled. the background can be changed to transparent or what ever but will only be effective with TF3D disabled.
if you disable TF3D i think the default is transparent and should show your today background as its background

It is not in the theme, because when I de-activate the enlarge start menu, then the background is the theme picture.
so it must be in the TF3d, But which file contains the image or has the color?
I have also inspected the Enlarge Start Menu Package and could not find any thing to change the background color.
Regards
its a .png file
look in registry for
HKLM\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu\ManilaCustomTexture
it contains the path to the file (should be \Windows\stBackImage.png)
just replace it with your own
mhh.. I think it is stwater.gif in windows device folder

If you disable tf3d and change the today picture then the start menu background will change to the today background.
But once Tf3d is active then the start menu background is back to grey again.

ThemeGenCE version 2.5 does not handle HTC Black theme because there is a redondant image file in the theme :
stwater.jpg
mixed with
tdywater_480_640.gif
tdywater_640_480.gif
stwater_480_640.gif
stwater_640_480.gif
I have handle this in my beta version...

That's good news! I look forward to seeing the new version.
Sorry, was it determined to be part of the .tsk file then?
the instructions above about changing the registy key to point to your own file is the proper way to do this, the one step that was left out was to reboot. A reboot is a must!. I just setup mine by changing HKLM\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu\ManilaCustomTexture
and rebooting teh device. Now I have the same image on teh start menu even with tf3d turned on. REBOOT!
Is it possible to remove the 'useless' weather graphics from the clock on the home screen of the new M2D (as on the Mega/touch2). It doesn't work so I'd rather just have the clock!

Should be gone with below registry change. Use any reg edit program to change.
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\weather.EnableCurrentLocation set to 0

Worked for me, but I am running stock rom WM6.5 WWE. Not sure if you have a cooked rom that might be the problem.
i have put that regestry value to "0", but still i find the weather animation on the homescreen... anything else i need to know?
edit: well i found the answer to taking away the animation, which u get by simply changing ur homescreen background. But thats just the weather animation tho.
Hi guys,
Do you have any idea as to why my wallpapers won't change?
They change only if I choose animated wallpapers. If I choose weather wallpapers, they won't change at all.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
the weather has to change before a different weather wallpaper is applied!!
If you apply a "weather wallpaper" these are static and not animated - appart from the weather animation.

It doesn't work. The animated ones work, no matter if the weather update or not.
The static ones don't change at all. I have no ideea why.
So you are saying that the weather wallpaper does not animate, like when you unlock the phone or go from the start screen back to the home screen. Have you ever had the weather working (the wallpaper takes the last stored weather data to define the animation to use whether the weather data is currently being updated or not). I'm talking stock ROM without additionally interfaces and apps. Have you installed anything that chan ges the way the phone looks? A hard reset might work.
Im curious how to remove the animated clouds on the stock rom (2.13.xxxx)
I have everything setup the way I like and just cant figure this out.
Thanks in advance!
I was able to finally accomplish this with Cookies Home Tab Editor. I'm relatively sure it was that and not HDWalls.

Yes, CHTE has the option for that (not HDW)...it's a quicklink you can add once you have that installed.
There's also a registry edit that will do the same thing, but I don't happen to have it handy...just search on here for "disable fullscreen weather"

Got it with CHT, THanks!
without cht can use
HKCU/software/HTC/manila
Find the reg entry Home.WallpaperMode
set it to
0 for animated weather
1 for animated wallpaper
2 for plain (no weather)

Yup, that's the one! Thanks Sam...I'm actually going to save it this time
hehe, had to trawl through the registry for the key name and then search xda to find the info from last time.
You can also just select animated wallpaper instead of weather wallpaper, and then just choose the wallpaper you want, whether animated or not. Just another method for stock ROMs w/o CHT, or using the registry.
What about removing the weather in the flip clock?

CHT/CHTE will allow you to choose clocks that don't have the weather, but only certain types that are built that way...you can't just "remove" the weather from the regular ones.
Hi all, i came with a simple problem: how can i cook a wallpaper?
Searching around the forum i've found i have to edit the default wallpaper in the TSK i'm using, the problem is that my TSK doesn't have a default wallpaper, and i don't know how to add one to it.
Can somebody help me?
Add files stwater_<width>_<height>.jpg and stwater_<height>_<width>.jpg where <height> is height for your screen and <width> is width of your screen (eg stwater_480_800.jpg is 480x800 jpg for portrait background and stwater_800_480.jpg is 800x480 jpg for landscape background).

Default Blue Wallpapers name are 'Default_stwater_480_800.gif' and 'Default_stwater_800_480.gif' . You should replace them but it's better to set your default wallpaper with registry entries.

How? I couldn't find anything about it
You have all the necessary in you Operator EXT package.
There are 2 files inside :
Code:
HTC_stwater_480_800.jpg
HTC_stwater_800_480.jpg
Now rename your personal wallpaper like the to below then be sure to have this in your Operator package:
Code:
mxipupdate_HTC1_100.provxml
Now...there is already a thread here in CC that explain your same problem [SOLVED] Cooking theme into Roms you must read it from the 1st post and you will find your solution and if you need more help about theme/wallpapers,please, use that thread because im closing this one, because it is useless have many double threads here.
