im not trying too ask if it exists our start a flaming war but im seriously sick of seeing android on hd2 threads pop up like almost every day I mean come on dont be lazy search when there is android on hd2 it will be posted on xda-developers.com

actually yes ones been posted today and i'm sick of seeing it and if it's gonna get posted every day i'd rather post one so people will be attracted to this thread and so they can see it's not happening anytime soon.
Oh great another useless thread, threads like this annoy everyone just as much as "android on my hd2" threads annoy you.
The reason people don't search is becuase it's far simpler to just make a new thread so having a thread that just says "use the search button" is not going to stop them
no people are just too lazy to search. argue with me then prove it. go search for something you have a small problem even as small as it is I guarantee you will find it. I have searched and found everything I have needed.

Searching before posting is supposed to be a rule on here... Maybe the mods should come down a little harder on Android threads seeing how everyone's getting a little bit sick of them appearing each and every day... I still love this forum but I think it's falling victim to the HD2's success to a certain extent as you never used to see so many duplicate threads on the Trinity or Diamond forums (where people probably took the time to search more).
Thats exactly what I'm saying man. The threads just sit and collect replies and replies and die and then someone just posts another one. It takes up alot of threads that are really useful and I"m tired of having to go to sometimes 7 pages before I see all the important threads.
It's a little bit out of control and it's an outrage. Noobs don't listen to the mods on making pointless posts

the OP created this thread, mentioning in the first post that people don't search (which may very well be true).
given the first assumption, the OP is justifying the creation of the thread with the motive that "people looking for android will come to this thread". dude! how will they come to find this thread if they are incapable of searching in the first place?
a thread to attract those interested in android development for the HD2 already exists...it has been STICKIED in the ROM development section. a stickied thread about the topic doesn't seem to deter the noobs from asking about it...how can this new thread be any more successful at minimizing the clutter?
Does anyone know when the HTC Wildfire will be getting the Android 2.2 update?... I'm on T-Mobile & heard a lot of different rumours but nothing concrete, but be good if anyone has any news, thanks

Well it wouldn't have taken much time (or let alone effort) to figure out the answer to your question. There would be no need to read through "100 pages" if you'd just learn to use the forum's built-in search function.
But this is getting off-topic, so let's get back on track. Nobody knows when (official) Froyo is coming to the Wildfire, but you'll know it very shortly after the release.

Thing about forums is that they have tools so simple questions like yours can be answered without much effort by the user. Even if you had glanced at this page you would have seen similar threads to your own. If you had used half an ounce of brainpower you would have surmised that T-Mobile can't release their own update until HTC release an unbranded one first. If you had refined your search properly there wouldn't be hundreds of pages to sift through.
You think you're superior to people who use forums but you come here and expect them to help you with a question which has an obvious answer. So why did you come here if you're so cool?

I'm currently running the MT3G 32b with the Cyanogen Froyo 2.2 install, considering TMobile is releasing the OTA Froyo update in the next few weeks, I'm considering going with that, but if I want to do that, do I have to do something to my phone to get it ready for the update? Or can I go straight from the Cyanogen mod to accept the OTA Update?

tldnr: post a link or it doesn't exist
I've searched every magic / dream / TMO OTA wall that has been created on this and the Cyanogen forum, as well as Googling for similar threads and data on various forums, and haven't found a single post on a single thread that answers simply this specific question. In addition, I've looked at every post that was recommended as possible solutions by this forum as I was creating this thread.
So if you could be bothered for a brief moment to get off your high horse. A horse whose saddle bags are filled with a fountain of knowledge and forum links of hundreds of millions of responses on threads to the question I have posted. Maybe you could post a single link with a response, or even a set of keywords that could be placed into Google or whatever search engine you prefer to use that would return a single result that answers the question.
If however, in your infinite wisdom, you feel that answering my question would take up too much time out of your day, I suppose I'll let you get back to trolling the forums in hope that you can post "first" and "search first" on every thread anyone creates.

Yeah I know another Froyo 2.2 post. But I found this interesting that the Samsung product page for our phone has it listed with 2.2 coming standard. Maybe a clue that it will come within the next few months.
This is the Fascinate for Verizon network.
Hopeful for 2.2 yes, will it happen, probably not soon. I can wait.

Well that is a step in the right direction. The picture under the little article "Galaxy S with Android 2.2OS" still says 2.1 though, but eh at least they are acknowledging that 2.2 is coming very soon.
Figured i would get flamed for this. But all the rss feeds today are posting. sorry guys, did not read every single 2.2 post from start to finish to realize this was posted.
Anyways. Site is inconsistent. who knows when it will happen. I am not getting my hopes up for it. just thought i would share the already shared news again.

I'm not sure about other people on here, but I appreciate the info. Since this is the first time I have seen it. Also because it is not speculation, it is straight off of the samsung site.

i don't see 2.2 on that page...it shows 2.1 under specs and near pic?
Looks like the over zealous web programmers have fixed the Fascinate for Verizon to show only 2.1 again. Someone either jumped the gun or is just trying to get peoples hopes up.

I agree. These posts are useless. That's why it's Android One. There will be updates. Hope the mods close all threada similar to this and leave one thread open.

I disagree and I thank the OP once again for giving me info and exact steps he used. I haven't seen another thread and I'm an average visitor of this subforum, why would I use search? Why would I even think about Feb update? I was thinking about it yesterday, not today, but this post reminded me, for which I'm thankful. OP posted a thread on a subforum, I saw it, others will too, no need for salt, if you really want the post to go down, just don't post a reply and magically the post will dissapear.
Edit: there's a factor of SEO, calling the thread differently will make sure that people searching different terms on Google will run into threads like this. It's 2018, searching for anything will instantly spoonfeed you, why not for mi a1 topics?
