Pocketmusic player problems - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

In my quest to find a music player I've finally ended up at pocketmusic player... the free versions works perfectly, but as soon as I try to install the bundle, it gives me a white screen when I start it up, the today plugin works perfectly, I need the budled version because of the functionality which lets the player continue playing even in sleep mode
somehow they tore that out of the free version :S
Also I keep getting a pop-up which wants me to choose the language, I can select the language fine, but there is no ok button or select or choose, all I can do is use a hardware button to exit the popup
anybody any ideas?

same problem here...

Go to Settings/Personal/Buttons and assign OK/Close to some button (like Main Menu hold)
use key when program prompts for language. That worked for me

what do i need to let the player sounding when i press the locking buttom (omnia 2)

Screen Locking

Please excuse my ignorance if this is an obvious question, but, how can I lock the screen and buttons on my Vario?
I like to listen to audio books through the headphones when I am on the beach walking the dog. With my C500 I could lock the screen and buttons and still listen to the audio, I know that I can tap the power button, but this stops the media player as well
Isn't there a combination of keypresses that will accomplish the same thing?
TIA
on the k-jam there is a "device lock" shortcut on the today screen, unfortunately up to now, no one has found where it is in the registry?
Ah yes, I er have found it now, that will do nicely!
I don't suppose there is something similar for closing running programs is there?
for closing files - personally i use magic button, but i also tried using switch (google for either)
Magic button allows you to close or minimise as you go, or use the "close all" to get rid of everything.
Switch was more of a task switcher with close all option (but the (X) only minimises and cant properly close screens)
Ofc if you want to use something built in, you need to go to the memory page, running programs, close all (many today screen plugins will link directly to this page IE Resco)

I dit. I cooked my own ROM but in previous ROM this feature was working somehow (pressing power button did not stop music playing) but in my ROM it does.
you can also just click the windows key, click on the "today" icon, go to the today screen and then just lock the window. let the screen turn off by itself.
thats what i do. i've never been able to hit the power key.
i use pocket player. you can assign a button to turn the screen off. unfortunately the program isnt free.. unless you know where to look.
get TCPMP,the core media player and assign a hot key to turn off the screen.its in the options.
If you use pbar (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284952&highlight=pbar), you can use the blue icon at the bottom of app to turn the screen off and save the battery sucked up by display.
I use this when listening to WMP or TCPMP and works fine.
For some reason, the link did not paste correctly for pbar. Here goes.

Until you figure it out. You can always set a hotkey from Media Player (menu/options/buttons). Then assign a key to Toggle Screen (I use Hold Up). Click on 'Toggle Screen', press Assign button, press key you want to assign to that function. If you hold the up button from the direction pad for a second it should take.
This is what I do (I'm using NBD v9.2 BTW): Play a song, wait until it finished the first song, click power button. Works everytime. If you press it too early you're gonna cut your music off along with your screen. The key word is wait.
Display Switch
Or you could use the program called display switch. it turns off the screen only and you can assign this to a button on your wizard. that's what I do

[Q] turning off screen during mp3 playback

How do i do this? i cant assign a button for it, i tried searching but those threads were recommending something called pocket shield, but isnt there a way to use the windows media player toggle screen function?
thanks
Use CorePlayer or Pocket Music...they both have features to switch off the screen.
Using Windows Media player you simply power off with the switch on top and the player continues.
take a look here for Windows Media and Core: http://www.ppcmobility.com/forums/showthread.php?t=603
Possible that there's a setting I wasn't aware of in WMP but - I found that when I used WMP for music and hit the sleep button at the top, the music stopped playing - although when I use the music player tab in the TouchFlo3D, it carries on uninterrupted when hitting the sleep button
i dont like the HTC media player, its much easier to search using windows media player.
i used to assign a key to toggle screen when i had my touch dual, but on the HD i cant assign any keys.
any help? if possible i dont want to download a third party media player.
at the moment im just letting the screen turn itself off, but doing so risks my pocket touching the screen and doing stuff
My 2 cents
well I use TF3D for my music needs (it's enough for me) and my solution to turning the screen off (without headphones in, since with them it's not an issue) is with Gyrator which I have set to turn the screen off when I turn the HD upside down.
Just switch off the screen with your power button. It works regardless of whether you're using Coreplayer or native TF3D music player or FM radio. But the wired headset must be plug in for it to work.
An additional tip:
Since the screen is blanked out, how do you change volume and switch channel/song?
My way of doing this is to install AEBplus, and make single press of volume buttons Up and Down arrow key, and double press (you can use long press too, if you so prefer) as volume up and down. In this way, you need not get out of blank screen in order to skip or repeat songs, or to change channel.
Is there anyway of doing this via the htc player from the today screen?
I like the convenience of playing music from this screen. Just need the display to switch off.
Prefer not to install another player then have to search for it to play a bit of music.

Controll Windows Media Play and Sound Settings with screen off?

Is there any way to do this because say if im listening to a song and i want to change it i always gotta turn on the screen in order to do so when i really dont need to.
any help would be greatly appreciated
Plug in your headphones
that doesnt work - it makes no differnece to the buttons
There's a way to modify that radio button on the stock headphone piece to do one command. It can be stop, forward, back, or whatever.
Can you please be more specific on how to change track using the button on the headset? also having the problem where screen turns on everytime I change track. GSplayer has this feature, but I prefer WMP
i dont use the original headphones - there must be a reg edit or something to allow the use of buttons with the screen off?

the easiest thing you can do is change the button config within WMP.
- Open WMP
- Go to view the player (not the library) by either playing a song or by hitting OK
- Hit Menu > Options > Buttons
- Scroll all the way down and select "Toggle Screen"
Now this is where you have to decide what button you want to use to turn the screen on and off, personally, I picked the center button (the optical joystick button) as my on and off screen, which is currently the Play/Pause button. For these instructions, I will use that button as the example.
- Hit the "Assing" button and hit the middle (optical joystick) button.
- Hit OK
Now you can turn the screen on/off (by hitting that button) while still being able to increase/decrease the player's volume, change tracks back or forward, and if you do a long press then you can fast forward or rewind the track.
Hope this is what you were looking for...
Hope this helps

Screen off while listening media player

I want to turn off the screen while listening to the media player on the speaker. Normally this can be fixed by configuring a hardware button.
Open up Windows Media Player on your Pocket PC
Tap Menu > Options > tap the right arrow to toggle over to the Buttons tab
Tap the Buttons tab and scroll down the page to the end until you see the "Toggle Screen" option. Tap it to highlight it, then tap the Assign button and then press the button you 'll press to toggle the screen on or off.
Tap OK at the top of the screen and you're done.
Click to collapse
However, I can not find a button which works. Has anyone an idea to fix this?
yep me too
yep, i have this problem too. like to go to sleep listening to the player but then the light stays on the whole time!
any update
A work around
I have had the same problem. My solution is to use AE button plus.
I've assigned Volume up key as follows. 1 click - up arrow, 2 click - page up and long click - volume up.
(Similar for down volume)
Next in media player I assigned up volume key to toggle screen.
Now when I 1x click volume up the screen toggles, but if I long click I get volume bar which then allows volume keys to work as normal ie Single clicks up/down volume.
alternatively if you're just listening to music you could install nitrogen player. which is far better than the standard media player (imo)
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-nitrogen-player.html
just press the 'power' icon and the screen will switch off and the audio continue to play.

Pocket music is also good
Nitrogen! It's superb. And, the volume buttons still work with the screen off (although the latest build links its own volume to the system volume which causes problems - I use v1.0 which leaves system volume separate).
You can use PowerOptions to turn off the screen while listening to music, see here :

Trick
Hi,
This is a trick that works with the Touch.
1. play some music with the Headphones jacked in
2. with the headphones still in, turn off the screen
3. pull out your headphones and the mediaplayer will use the built in speaker, even though the screen is OFF.
try it and report the results
no warranty, since it works with my Touch, but I don´t know, it may work with the Diamond II.
Didn´t work
Uhmmmm!!
I got my Diamond 2 last weekend and I tried this without success.
Sorry guys
