Hello. I've bought HTC Magic recently. It is version 32a, as it has 288 MB of RAM.
Currently the build version is 2.16.*
So I wanted to download and upgrade to latest rom version 2.20.401.2 from HTC.
After putting my S/N HT97******** it shows me Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device..
Is here anyone who could help me please?
If you **** around too much on the htc home pages you do not get to download any update. I do not know why it is so but so it was with me,
So turn off your browser to try again. or get a new IP address
Or **** in the slow updates and root your phone it takes five minutes. Then your phone will be double as fast .???????????
OK, I've tried changing the browser, deleting browser's cache, reconnecting to the other wifi (so other IP), but all without success.. Thanks anyway Any other suggestions please?

Kk, but I don't think it's the reason because it didn't work already when I visited HTC website for the very first time and as I wrote, I tried it with different IPs, browsers etc.. but anyway, I'll give it a try
Is the update for your phone, ie the country its from? Otherwize sn will be wrong

Actually I thought the same firstly.. but I'm from Czech Republic and on the box of phone is written that it's for sales in CZ (Czech Republic) (and some other european countries), so it shouldn't be problem there

Mine is from czech also and the update didnt work either, from memory(but thats not real good either) the rom version the update is for was diferent

And did you manage to update your HTC Magic somehow or not in the end? (I mean like some official update).. sorry if dumb questions but my skills in this area are on quite low level yet

What for..? It's not about that I can't install the update.. It's about I can't download one from HTC web site..

Nope, its wasnt a major upgrade like sense or anything so I didnt bother. Got sick of waiting for htc to give the sense update so rooted and running MYHERO now, should have done it long ago

Thank you for your information. The device you bought is for Czech market Vodafone branded. The ROM upgrade on the HTC webpage is for unbranded devices only. The upgrades for branded devices are released by mobile network operators themselves.

Hello, i have a htc hd2 on tmobile, but the phone its self isnt marked as t-mobile anywhere on it.
I selected to mobile

and entered my S/N but it said my model isnt supported!
Why is this? will it do any harm to get the rom elsewhere and download it anyway? im guessing the S/N check is there to make sure that i dont download it for a reason.
Is there anywhere i can get the 1.72 rom for mmy phone? i am currenttly on 1.66 rom.

i also have a HD2 without any branding visible, yet when i entered my s/n it went straight through...
however, the 1.72 rom i downloaded was a tmobile branded rom...perhaps the s/n are pre-registered to tmobile from the htc factory???

could i please have the serial number youve used so i can download? i dont see what the difference is between mine and a t-mobile bought one, the hardware and software is still the same.
go look in rom development section, leo official roms thread, first post first link, all the branded and unbranded stock roms.
sorry, i cant find the s/n in that post, there are hundreds of pages!

I think he was trying to direct you here..........
You'll find the rom you need in here without having to use a s/n...
They're exactly what you'd get from the HTC site, for some reason the download from HTC keeps cutting out so I'm just getting it from here.

ive just downloaded the TMO UK 1.72 and tried flashing it, but i recieve an invalid vendor ID error message.
I recieve a text from t-mobile today, telling me that i can update my phone to this rom, so i dont see why it shouldnt be compatible!
Any way of forcing it to flash?
p.s i bought this phone online as a generic phone from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk.
I am on contract with t-mobile
any ideas?
what is the HTC_HD2_RUU_Leo_HKCSL_WWE_172 rom?
It over 395 people have downloaded it, is this a generic one? it seems to be a higher version to the tmobile one which i have been advised to update too.

As far as I know wwe is the generic one, i cant give you an answer as to whether thats the one you need or not, if it wont let you flash the T-Mo rom then I'd guess you need the wwe, like I said I'm not sure though.....
ok, ill see how it goes. It is slightly annoying tho, does the t-mobile rom give you better reception? im just thinking that if i switch to a generic rom, then there wont be the specific t-mobile radio anymore. (if there is such a thing!)

I guess your going to need to read through a lot of threads to find out which rom you need for your phone, the answer will be in here somewhere......... sorry i cant help you any more than that...

then you don't have a t mo branded phone, you have a generic phone network locked to t mo.
you need to use roms that say HTC WWE and not tmouk wwe

thanks, appreciated, i was prob going to reset it at somepoint anyway coz it was soo slow, but ive backed up all my contacts, so its alright, just gonna take a while to put everything back on lol.

thanks, but i tried the WWE one and thats what seemed to have locked it up!
so, the t-mobile one came up with the error and so did the generic WWE one, expect the WWE one locked the phone up on startup.

This is a re-release of the botched rom a couple weeks back yes? It looks to be the same size and everything, however after flashing this earlier just to see, it's as snappy on my phone as any custom rom and the battery life is actually insane now.
Like, so much battery now I feel empowered to maybe do some tethering or wifi routing
Updating mine now. The ROM is available on tmobile's site too.
They sent me a text saying an update was available. I hope this fixes all the freezing issues I've been having before I sell this thing and buy an e73.

Just got the HD2, its unlocked and being used on AT&T network. I need to install the cab files to get the MMS working right. Do I need to change the ROM to a different one? I know its the original one. What else do you guys recommend I do/change on it? Should I do any of the updates from the HTC support site? I'm reading the stickys now. Thanks in advance.

In my opinion, best thing you can do is read all about flashing and flash a new ROM and Radio.
Correct me if I'm wrong, it's the US version? If so, don't touch any of the ROM updates on the HTC site. They contain a x.x.51.x radio and it will brick the US version.

ROM at the moment no but radio you can. Read ansar's posts. Peronally I am using radio ver. 5.64. It is a little better then the others.

Why it stoped at 60% when download? I try it 3 times, and I have to wait for 1500sec for next time. I tried both download tools and IE "save as...", same result.

Plz, Tell me what news in this ROM???
Just to clarify, this rom is BELL, correct? Meaning, this brings me totally back to BELL, not some O2 UK hacked rom? This ROM dies at 9% and reboots my device, even when downgraded to NoDo. Any ideas? I need to get a bell stock rom.

As soon as the RUU installer hits 9%, it reboots my device, and sits at 9%. Forever. I even tried RSPL.
