i have a rooted htc magic. i want to change wallpapers. how do i access the wallpaper library on the device
It's inside an APK file, you'd need to compile and sign an APK every time you wanted to change something.
If you press the Menu key on your home screen you can choose Wallpaper and select any image from your Gallery.
Android saves this image to /data with JPEG compression, which can look crap for some pictures. If you want to set an image directly as wallpaper get the "Wallpaper Set & Save" app from Market, make a folder on your SD card called wallpapers and put 640x480 pixel images in there.

when i change the wallpaper of today using the
default option (the box below theme selection)
the wallpaper get whiten (just like the theme set transparency to 30% or so)
i try different theme also have this problem
What can i do? thx
Browse to the picture you like to use as wallpaper with the file explorer. Open the picture and choose "Set as Today Background..." with transparency 0%.
use pictures and videos menu,>send to today bckground
change the transparancy there
or use a_cs s2v which is the best free image viewer and save to desktop
that prog allows you to save much higher quality contact pictures as well
Done, thank you very much ^^b
When I download wallpapers from the web they are being saved in the downloads dir, and do not show up with the rest of the wallpapers whrn I access them from the settings.
My question is : Is there a directory I could move images to, so they would show along the stock ones ?
Err, downloaded wallpapers will be shown in your gallery instead. If you want to set them as wallpapers, then just browse from gallery.
The stock wallpapers are in a different time space continuum so there's no way to add new pictures to the stock wallpaper folder without altering the fabric of N1's existence.
That is if you are on stock N1. Not sure about rooted N1s with custom roms.
All the wallpapers that you can access from settings are in launcher.apk.....so one can edit it and push launcher again
1 download wallpaper slideshow from marker
2 put **ONE** 1280x800picture in a created folder called wallpaper or what ever u want to call the folder *use root explore
3 go to live wallpapers and choose wallpaper slide show and go to settings
4 uncheck ALL boxes
5 choose the picture that's in the folder
Here's a excelent website with 1280x800 wallpapers http://www.widewallpapers.net/index.php
Enjoy a crisp clean wallpaper with no fuzzy or cropped junk
P.s this is not really a live wallpaper so u will not lose performance or battery drain
can you tell me the directory structure to get to the wallpaper folder?

I selected a photo from gallery and cropped a portion of it for wallpaper. How do I save this wallpaper that I've created? If I change wallpapers, this one will get deleted and I will have re-crop.
Try any of these:
Wallpaper Set And Save
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.wallpapersetandsave
Image 2 Wallpaper
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shirobakama.wallpaper
I couldn't get either of those apps to save the current wallpaper that I'm using. Set and Save tried to save it in /SD card/wallpaper, but the N10 could not locate it. Not sure where the stock wallpapers are stored.
Image 2 wallpaper didn't give the option to save the wallpaper I already made.
I set a few images from 'Shot on OnePlus' as my 6t's wallpaper on home and lock screen. The photos show up in the choose wallpaper menu. Now I am using a different wallpaper. I want to get rid of the old photos which I had previously set as wallpapers from the menu, but I cant find the images in gallery. Anybody know where they are stored so that I can manually delete them?
