Downgrading Wing to WM5

Hi. I own a T-Mobile Wing and and hate it's constant lagging, freezing, i could go on for a while.. Is there a way to downgrade the OS the WM5? WM6 is weak compared to it's predecessor. I used to have an MDA, but it broke, which is why i have the wing now. could i use the same rom i used on my mda, or is it not compatible? if i can't flash a wm5 rom, does anyone have any suggestions?

AFAIK you are not able to flash WM5 straight to your phone. If you have tested all(bolding because the WM6 port of the trinity is just as efficient as the WM5 Herald) the WM6 roms to your phone and are still not satisfied you can cook up your own ROM and flash it to your phone. Or follow the advice of a fellow xda'er and CID unlock your phone to allow the flashing of the WM5 Herald RUU.

Download and run this
Then do this.
Problem solved. The phone isn't bricked anymore and it's much more responsive. (I find it to be a LOT smoother than my wizard.)

It would be great if I can get the RUU to download but for some reason it doesnt. Can you send me a different link to the one you have?

I'll try to mirror it when I get home. I might even mirror in on my temporary server and let you get it from there as long as we can get online at the same time. (I don't like leaving the PC on because of the power bill... lol)

HELP! Need ROM for h2210!

Hello,
I am in need of a Windows Mobile 6 ROM for the hp iPAQ h2210 PDA.
I have been looking for this one for a very long time, but I can't find it.
HP says that this device does not support Windows Mobile 6, but I am pretty sure there is a possibility to get it to work.
My friend told me that I should be able to get a good ROM here.

[REQ] HP Glisten ROM - 6.5.3?

Any chance there is a glisten 6.5.3 rom lingering out there? I have searched for days here and other forums....nothing. closest I found was someone dumped the ROM here, but just for the camera.

Don't expect to find a cooked ROM so fast.
HP.com don't have any ROM and update software yet.

I would really like to get a dump of this device!

No I'm working on WM6.5.5 for the ipaq 21x
Who is the manufaturer of this phone? I understand Asus.

HP makes the ipaq glisten.

HP never made any ipaq!
Compaq started with HTC to make the first iPAQs.
HP bought Compaq and broke with HTC.
HTC went to the market on their own, good move.
HP went to CMCS (part of Foxconn) to use the Debussy (51x) and Sterling (21x) devices for the first HP iPAQs.
The Glisten (Obsidian) is build by Pegatron (part of Asus).

interesting post...you obviously know great device details...any chance you are building a 6.5.5 rom for it? i know you can update the rom through ruu or sd load

I wonder if you can dump the rom..it can be dump by osntool.i think you can get some useful infomation from keyx.]

Get rom from an already unlocked glisten
I have two iPAQ Glisten unlocked (prototype) working fine on any GSM carriers, and another one locked to AT&T, maybe i can copy the ''unlocked rom'' from these prototypes and install this rom on my locked device. But i'm noob in rom cooking so if someone can tell me how can i unlock my at&t locked device, or make an executable file from this one to install it easily from PC or using SD Loader (is there any sdloader function on glisten ?).
Any information will be appreciated. And everyone will unlock their hp glisten. !

Network lock is not stored in ROM.
You could flash whatever ROM you want, but phone will stay locked.

Blackberry connect on HTC Touch2

After 2 years using Blackberry connect in my Elf (HTC Touch) now it is time to try it on my new Mega, however there is no way I can get it to work. I have tried all versions from 4.0.0.97 to 4.0.0.106 changing the AKU in the register with no success, PIN pending error always.
I would much appreciate any suggestions.

I have tried several cooked ROMs changing the device ID to Elfin or Rapahel hex-editing the ROM and then changing the AKU with no success.
I am waiting for a cooked ROM with Windows Mobile 6.1 as a last chance.
I will keep this post updated.

Would be a bummer to go back to 6.1 wouldn't ? I may also consider this as an option. On the bright side is that with 6.0 I may be able to run BBC2.x instead (with hexed model and coredll) - I am only interested in receiving emails. Anyhow - looks like we are on the similar path of trying to get BBC working on our new devices (HD2 for me).
If you still have your Elf[n] or maybe know Elf comrades with that device - maybe you could check this post and help us out with some info ? TIA

I upgraded my Elfin to 6.5 but I downgraded to 6.1 as I feel more comfortable (I love the stylus!).
Well I have checked the post you point but I prefer the ROM hexediting method as it easier although is not working indeed.
Let's hope someone cook a 6.1 ROM to try.

I know what you mean. Selecting the checkboxes is a royal pain in the .... on my HD2 capcitive screen Nevertheless, on my old Kaiser 6.5 works like a charm with the stylus and the finger.

Forget it, YOU CAN`T, I ended up changing my Touch2 for a Blackberry Torch, what a nice machine!, I do not regret, I love my Blackberry Torch and I do not miss my Touch2.
Trust me, throw away your Touch2 and get a Blackberry Torch.

[Q] How to Get Windows Mobile 6.1 (6.5 ?) for a MDA touch plus

Hey guys,
I'm pretty sure that this question has already been answered but after going through many threads, I still don't get it, haha.
I have got a MDA Touch Plus (Htc Touch Dual) from T-Mobile UK which is set with Windows Mobile 6.0 (version from 2008, the oldest one I believe). I'd like to update it to WM 6.1 or above (6.5 ?) but I have no idea how to do that.
I tried to get the official version of WM 6.1 from the htc's website, it said that the software wasn't suitable for my device.
I managed to download it anyway using another HTC Dual Touch's serial number but I don't feel confident trying to install it when the website stated that it wasn't suitable.
Here are my questions then:
- Is there a risk of damaging the mobile phone if I try to install the official version that wasn't apparently suitable for the mobile phone ?
- Where can I get a version of WM 6.1/6.5 that will work with my phone ?
- Is there a guide to install it ?
- My phone is unlocked so I can use my Orange's Sim as well, by updating it using an unofficial version of WM, will the phone stay unlock ?
I apologise if my questions are quite silly but I haven't got any experience in customing ROMs and all that kind of stuff ^^"

I checked that post and that's how I made my way to the Main HardSpl/uspl (whatever it means) thread actually.
I found some interesting stuff on how to proceed, I'm just not really sure of what I'm doing.
