Isn't this just the removehiddenproxy cab? If so, it's already loaded on the Pure!
I get "connecting" a lot on some videos, yet others work fine. If the linked hiddenproxy one is different, LMK, and I'll try that.

The pure has it. If you unlock medianet, you will see that there isn't a selected proxy, and you can verify "hidden proxy" with the cab...
start, tools, proxy manager.

that's obvious if you use the stock rom. if you flash a different rom that is not the case.
worse than u, i even can't run it after installation of cab...
some one said it is the problem of rom.
Notice how youtube on the internet regular computer requires you to login for even slightly risky content?
I'm thinking it's THIS.
Is there a new HTC version of youtube player that allows you to login to youtube?

My youtube app no longer displays a small snapshot image of the video. Instead I get a grey/white TV icon.
The video plays fine once you tap on the title.
Anyone else experience the same problem?
Yeap, exactly the same problem here. I guess something must have changed at Youtube's end.
Hello,
the same here... no pictures in the listing anymore.
Is this realy a "server" problem, or a HD failure?
StHenker
same here what's going on.....first it's google maps zoom in now youtube, what's next???
I dunno, but it's a pain
Apparently Google have updated their back end and this is causing problems with You Tube on many HTC devices.
I was told that HTC are working in conjunction with Google to provide a fix.
yrreP how did you find this out. good that you told me. i thing i reset my hd about 5 times. thanks for the heads up. do you know when its gonna get fixed
HTC told me..!
It came from an official source in Taiwan.

Hope its true and get fixed as otherwise its doesn't make any sense if one cannot see a preview pic in the list.
Seems to be working again
Mine is working just fine... I am posing this message on Nov 20th, Thursday night at 9:30 PM EST from USA.
Result!
also working in UK (Friday 21st Nov 07:10 GMT)
When I try to load the YouTube App, it says "Connection Failed" - anyone know why this might be (I'm on a HSPA connection - data is on). Also, when I load the youtube webpage, the thumbnails for videos appear, but the video's themselves do not...?
I've loaded .Net framework 3.5. Any help appreciated!
Petrov.
I've tried a hard reset now - but still no luck. Youtube app comes up with "Connection Failed". I'm with T-Mobile in the Uk. Anyone else seeing this, either in the UK or as part of T-Mobile in the UK?
EDIT: I've figured it out. If you get the HD from Expansys at least, it comes configured using the T-Mobile proxy server. To get the YouTube app to work, I had to go to Start>Settings>Connections (tab)>Connections (icon)>"Edit my proxy server"> then UN-check the block titled "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet".
Nonetheless, while the youtube app works and lets me play videos via the application, I still can't play videos from the actual youtube.com homepage (or any other flash video sites).
Hope this helps others too. Perhaps even worth a mention in the wiki tweaks?
Petrov.
sounds like you're volunteering there mrpetrov
Hi all
I am having problems with logging in to youtube through HTC sense on the HD2. I can log in to Facebook and twitter just fine, but whenever I try to log in to youtube, nothing happens - the icon does not turn green, but stays greyed out. I have tried on 2 different HD2s, using two different youtube accounts, and have even tried following a hard reset with the same results. I have tried to log in using the data services in the settings, and also using the account manager in the connections settings. I would like to be able to upload my videos to youtube from the HTC album, but of course I can't do this until I am logged in.
Is anyone having similar issues? I am using the 1.43 ROM on O2 in the UK. I don't really want to upgrade until the official ROM is released.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Just had the issue with my German Tmobile ROM.
Youtube was disabled...or no idea what Tmobile did to the ROM.
Now with the clean 1.48 everything works fine.
regards
brook
I'm on t-mobile on the uk and YouTube does not seem to work over 3G or HSDPA. works ok over wifi, now running 1.48 WWE ROM.
Sent from HD2 keyboard
One thing I will ask, is there any way when using the Youtube application, that when you do a search, the search results are similar to that of the actual Youtube website.
I often do a search in the app and will get no results, or very different results and on the website will gain the proper results.
Any suggestions?

Youtube login fix
Ive noticed something odd about the logins in Sense UI for youtube (and probably Facebook etc), if you have a non-alphanumeric password (a password with say [email protected] etc ) you won't be able to login. Just change your password with google/youtube and you can login. I assume the same goes for twitter and facebook.
Thanks for all the responses. Looks like my best bet is to wait for O2 to bring us the official 1.48 (or 1.49) upgrade, or to try the goldcard method. Just to respond to some of the suggestions, I have tried both over wifi and 3g with the same result, and I already have an alphanumeric password. Anyone else having this issue?
yep I have an official o2 ROM and I can't log into YouTube.
Looking suspiciously like an issue with the O2 rom. Have asked over at the O2 forums if anyone else is experiencing this. Will keep you updated.
Im on o2 and I dont have a problem, works fine for me.
Im also still on .143 rom.

Another troll post by you... reported!
On topic: If your device didn't come with the youtube application, you might want to try this alternative: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508984
For all Coreplayer users: Coreplayer also has Youtube integrated.
By the way:
I have written ALL of my recent posts on the HTC HD2. Typing on a mobile phone has never been so easy.
I made a thread concerning the youtube app and the camcorder. My T-mobile device didn't come with the youtube app so I decided to install it but it seemed to mess up my camcorder. I wasn't able to play the videos back.
Has anybody had this problem?
yep i`m on tmobile and i have the same problem, desperate for a fix!!!!! i have the original youtube app off the topaz/hd but my videos wont play when this is installed, uninstall it an my videos play fine. i wish i had the knowledge or understanding to make this work, unfortunatly i dont LOL!!
someone on this forum must know how to fix this, surely!
OK, I'm making progress. I created a new youtube account, which I can now log in to properly from the phone. My original youtube account still isn't working, though. From feedback I have had elsewhere, I'm wondering whether this has anything to do with the fact that this is linked to my google account. For those still having this issue, I would suggest trying to create a new account on the youtube website and trying to log in to that. Also, I noticed that I have to log in using my user name only, not with the email address, as this doesn't work. Hope this helps someone.
same problem
mine was working fine until today when I goldcarded it to the official htc 1.48.405.2 rom. now it doesn't work.
anyone figured this issue out yet?
Yesterday youtube stopped playing videos. I can still surf through the videos but if I try to play one it just goes to Connecting... and then eventually fails. I can surf the internet fine in opera and skyfire and get on facebook, so I know my internet is working. I tried reflashing several different ROMs with no success at getting it to work. Any ideas? BTW, I am currently using the newest Artemis ROM but I have also tried multiple Miri and Dutty ROMS and the youtube didnt work either. PLEASE HELP! I love watching youtube videos on the go. I have also tried it with wifi connect and using 3G and both get the same error. Also I can open youtube and play a video in Skyfire so I am dumbfounded on why the Youtube program isnt working. BTW, I am using the a Testra HD2 on AT&T with 3G!
I read that Youtube recently changed their Flash version that they use. Could that be why its not working this last few days?
Someone please help!
Please help guys!
I've just tried and mine works fine, try doing a hard reset and see if that fixes it.
Using a registry editor like Total Commander, go to Hkey_local_machine/software/htc/youtube/proxyname and remove the value (probably wireless.cingular.com:80). Save and restart your phone and youtube should now connect. AT&T prevents the use of youtube and this is a work around. I thought mine was faulty at first but found out this trick from another thread.

I tried this but when I run Youtube it puts the registry back! What do I do?
What ROM are you using?
Nevermind, I got it to work. There was another additional key entry that had to be deleted that had wap.cingular.com:80 too. Thanks for the help guys! This forum is awesome. I only have one other issue to work on and thats the HTC messaging.
I am using the newest Energy ROM and when I go to send a SMS it uses windows mobile SMS program instead of the HTC one. However, if I open a incoming one by double tapping on the main screen it will go into the HTC one. Any ideas?
Has anyone successfully uploaded videos to youtube from their TMO HD2? I have the stock shipping ROM on mine
I am doing the upload from photos and video in sense
Every time I upload one it goes all the way to 100% uploaded then gives an error message that the service is not available at this time. I have tried a few times over the past 2 weeks or so and get the same thing every time, so im highly doubting its a temporary service outage at youtube

Here is one I uploaded...and in the info tag it says uploaded with HTC phone.. it works...I am running the 2.13 Stock ROM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8xxEfvlYHk
Works fine for me too on the updated stock ROM too bro. Just uploaded my HD2 extended battery video last night!
Bleh, I just retried and it still doesn't work. Tried on stock earlier and right now on indie's Omega XT rom and still no go
I managed to get this working by going into Manila Settings, then Data Services, then turning Youtube off and then back on.

I have had my transformer for two days now. At first the flash player worked okay. Yeah, there was lag when watching videos in 720p, but whatever. Today, however, when I went to YouTube to watch a video, it wouldn't play and gave me an error message saying that flash player needs to be updated. I checked the market and there are no updates available (I'm currently running version 10.3.185.25). I even tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it and rebooting the transformer, but to no avail.
Thanks for any advice.

That won't work because I'm trying to watch YouTube directly from the browser, but that did give me an idea. I went to my applications and I cleared the data and cache for the browser. This time when I went to YouTube it worked!

Great, Bluetooth doesn't work. I really hope that I'm just doing something stupid which is causing this problem. When I went to connect my magic mouse and apple wireless keyboard to the transformer they paired and said connected. Everything seemed fine but when I went to move the mouse, no cursor appeared on the screen. Also, when I tried to type something with the keyboard nothing would happen. I have tried unpaining and repairing but that doesn't work either. I really like the device and don't want to have to exchange it for an issue like this.

That's what it seems like . Unfortunately I dot have anything else to test it with. I'm open to pretty much anything as long as I don't have to return it.
