Upgrading radio on a 32B Magic - myTouch 3G, Magic General

I have an battery issue on my phone, that is not related to the battery... My phone drains about 80% of the battery overnight with almost everything turned off. The problem is not the battery itself since a friend of mine had used it on his HTC Magic 32A, and it lasted almost 2 days...
I suspect that what is draining my battery is the radio of the phone... I have radio 2.22.19.26I and I was thinking on upgrading it to a newer version(if there is any...), but I have some questions about how to upgrading it...
I have been looking over here but I don't find good information about upgrading the radio.
Where can I find the newest radio versions and how can I update them?
Is there any danger of bricking the phone while upgrading the radio?
Is it possible to backup the current radio and restore it later if there is any problem?
Well, this is more than a few questions but I really cant find many information on this topic.
Here are some information about my phone:
SAPHIRE PVT 32B SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-10
RADIO-2.22.19.26I

No idea BUT maybe try calling t mobile. Revert the phone to the stock rom and ask them about it. They were really helpful to me and the phone was sent via express shipping which took a max of 3 business days.

Can't do it... First its a Vodafone Spain phone, then I am in Portugal, not Spain... so I a bit stuck...

Anyone?
Does anyone have a clue on this one?

That is the latest radio, there is nothing to upgrade to.

Upload much faster than download with HTC Magic

Hello,
I am having a very strange problem with my HTC magic.
I thoroughly tested this, and I always get similar results, my upload is much faster than my download. I am getting 61 kbps downloading and 814 kbps uploading, this is a huge difference.
I had a perfect SPL, I downgraded it and tested my phone with the latest cyanogenmod and RA1.6.2 DONUT ROM and I got the same results. I never noticed this with the stock ROM, although I never tested it.
Also, I am using 3G watchdog, and it says I uploaded much more than what I downloaded, maybe my phone is using 3G/HSDPA to transmit but not to receive?
Hope you can help me.
Thank you!
I just tried with the latest myhero ROM and I get similar results.
Here's my info:

Is it my radio version? SPL? Hardware problem? Please help.
Thank you.
EDIT: Updated my radio to 3.22.23.18 but I still getting the same values...
service can fluctuate sometime...if it keeps happening call your carrier and let them take you off the network then put you back on it and see if that helps

Question about the need to upgrade SPL & Radio

I have a 32b with
SPL: HBOOT-1.33.0004
RADIO: 2.22.19.26I
I saw several opportunities to upgrade either spl or radio or both. But I don't see why I would need to do that. Does it bring along extended capacity? Speed? Anything else? Or is it just about compatibility with some ROM?
Which SPL and RADIO would you recommend now for FROYO?

Good Question. I was thinking about the same thing...
I have the same question. Does having the newer radio improve anything?
Right now I am running CM6 with Pershoot's latest kernel.
I used the Universal Androot to root it and Rom Manager to install the rest.

Any advice?
Well, I'm not expert in these things,
but as far as i know, with a newer Radio you will get a better reception and signal quality,
plus there is some Rom are cook to work with specific Radios,
and about the SPL, you need to have and Eng-SPL with S-OFF,
in case if you messed anything up and you messed the recovery menu as well (as some people did)
the Eng-SPL will save your life
so, long story short, you can't brick your phone if you have an Eng-SPL/S-OFF
MOD EDIT: STRIKEOUT ALL INACCURATE INFORMATION
Hey there!
A few things you need to know:
1. If it's working just fine, leave it alone.
2.Those with 32B phones should keep their current radio and, at most, upgrade to an engineering SPL to switch security to OFF.
3. Owners of the MyTouch Fender/LE/1.2/whatever-the-hell-it's-called (the one with the 3,5mm audio jack) should NEVER touch their radio and SPL unless they want to brick their phones. You'll have to switch radios/SPLs during rooting, but will need to revert back to stock in order to get it working right.
4. The only ones who can switch between different versions of radio/SPL are those with the 32A (CPLD-12, no audio jack), as a few sense ROMs only run on a specific radio/SPL combo.

By myTouch 1.2/LE, keinengel means you. Don't hangs a thing or you'll either brick your phone or never get a ROM to work.

Pretty much everything that you said here is WRONG!
You don't need an Eng-SPL.
You don't need S-OFF
You can brick your phone with S-OFF/Eng-SPL
Please don't post incorrect information again or you can be banned.
I will be reviewing your future posts. First warning!

Help! Vodafone HTC Magic 32A on CM6 dropping calls while data connection is active

Hi all,
First of all sorry if this has been already covered, but I did search the forum and cyanogen's forum too and I didn't find anything relevant.
The only thing relatively close to my problem was this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=378692
but it seems it was a carrier related problem...
I have recently flashed my HTC Magic 32A (Vodafone Romania) from the original ROM to CM 6.1.0-DS and patched with ezterry's biffmod kernel patch (2.6.34.7). Apart from the greenish tint I had before flashing ezterry's patch things have been running smoothly and fast and everything worked!
But I have switched recently to another carrier, a Dutch carrier, Telfort which runs on KPN's network. And since then I have been experiencing dropped calls for every call after aprox. 1 min into the conversation no matter if I was calling were being called. After trying to remove as many applications as I could, trying different settings, nothing seemed to solve my problem. So I tried one last thing: turning off the data connection. And this has worked flawlessly. If I keep the data connection turned off I do not drop any calls!
I must mention that this sim has been running before in an HTC wildfire with the stock rom without any problem (data + voice calls worked well). So it is not a carrier problem.
I have been thinking of upgrading to a newer radio. Do you guys think this might solve my problem? Or does anybody have any suggestions of what I could do to fix this?
Thanks!

My T-Mobile MyTouch is rooted and running:
Kernel - 2.6.35.7 & CyanogenMod-6.1.0-RC1-DS
Android - 2.2.1
Build - FRG83
I never noticed better reception on the new radio but you can always give it a try. You don't have a true 32A device btw. You need to read the last post in the stickied thread for myTouch 1.2's (headphone Jack). It's actually a hybrid phone. Currently the only radios known to work for it are the one you have, 2.22.28.25, and 2.22.27.08.
