a custom rom? where can i get that? sorry am new to the htc thing
Here's the flashing guide.
Just be careful - use the right guide according to your HD2 model (aka. is it a T-mobile model or not?)

No need to be sorry, we all have to start somehwere. This is a good thread to look it. Check out step 2 for some roms that work well with android builds.

wow ok thx !!!
Hey guys, I tried searching for this but couldn't find it. I'm looking for the AOSP keyboard that can be found in the CM6 roms. I'm sure there is a way to pull it from there but I'm just a noob. Any help would be great! Thanks.
here you go just install with a file manager, can't guarantee it works on your rom though.
It doesn't seem like it works. I'm running NFX 2.2.1 rom by the way.

well thats a sense rom so I dont think it will search the threads to see if theres a ported version.
Here you go. Has Voice enabled. Should work in Sense ROMs because I'm running nfinitefx's Stock ROM and it works for me there. Just flash this from recovery.
Okay so I bought my HTC Tattoo and started installing apps but than it says memory full I know it only installs on phone mem. but is there an easy way to make it save on memory card, I a tutorial but I don't understand what to do in it....can somebody help me with very detailed tutorial please...or over MSN/Skype
You have to root it and do some more. When rooting you will loose your warranty.

what more?
Look in the development forum, there is a thread about apps2sd. Or pick a ROM with that feature.

go to htc tattoo>android development and then you can find your custom rom....
All the ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698576
What rom?
What rom is good?
There are a lot of 1.6 ROMs, some 2.1 and 2.2 and a 2.3
With 2.2 you do not need to partition the SD card.
The newer Android version the ROM has, the more applications are compatible with it.
i'm not really a noob but noob to the Legend, i used to have Xperia X10 and HTC HD2 and it was easy to root and installing ROMs
now i have this Legendary Legend and i want to root it and install different ROMs i'm currently running 2.2, radio-7.13.35.05, and on the boot it says
LEGEND PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.01.0000
MICROP-0816
TOUCH PANEL-SYN07_0105
i've been reading the stickies foe awhile but i didnt know what is the difference between S-ON and OFF and if 2.2 is rootable or i have to downgrade to 2.1 and if i have to root this HBOOT thing!! actually i'm lost!! one last thing what is the best ROM for Legend? is there 2.3 or CM7 out for it?
P.S. excuse my poor english
why did you post 2 same thread???
maybe it's a forum lagg, and it was like "double posting"
It looks like you're in the same situation I was! Here's how I rooted, in laymans terms.
1. Turned my SD card into a goldcard.
2. Flashed a pre-rooted 2.1 ROM using the stock recovery method.
3. Downloaded CM6.1, placed it on my memory card.
4. Did a little messing around with ROM Manager, ended up doing the stuff I explained in this thread instead which worked just fine: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=962357
5. Flashed CM6.1 (which was buggy as hell).
6. Downloaded blay0's ROM, placed it on my memory card.
7. Repeated step 4 and flashed blay0's ROM.
Please note that blay0's ROM is 2.2 and not 2.3.
In regards to ROMs, personally I love blay0's b 0.7 ROM, it runs like a dream. It's not too far away from the Sense UI and it isn't buggy as hell for me like CM6.1 is... Haven't tried CM7 yet so I can't say, but TheGrammarFreak (a respected regular here) shows praise for it.

Is it true that CM7 doesn't have Flash? That's a pretty big dealbreaker for me.

Yes, but the good news is that none of the rom (legit or custom) has it as well.

What about the Lite version of Flash which HTC ship with the Legend? If that's still present I might just switch to CM7.

It isn't.
CM can't legally include it because they don't have a licence to redistribute it, don't want to since they don't have access to the source, and even if they could and wanted to, it probably requires the sense framework, so technically it would still be somewhere between "impossible" and "damn inconvenient".
If you use Rom Manager it can install CM7 its pretty good for me my last rom was b0.5 which was great but im loving CM7 way more
If you really want 2.3 use CM7 - it's still beta but it's very stable and does everything I ask it to do, if you want a stock(ish) 2.2 then Blay0's ROM is sweet.
yep, I would also recommend cm7. and it's only partly true that it has no flash - I downloaded it from applanet and works perfectly fine with embedded youtube videos and ads (although I don't want the latter)
CM7 works great. Why do you need flash lite? I haven't missed it once when I owned an iPhone and I haven't missed it in CM7, nor did I use it with the stock rom. Youtube works anyway and if you must, Skyfire plays most flash videos fine as well.
Hey guys I just upgraded from my T-mobile G1 and I was wondering whats the fastest stable NAND Rom for the HD2 that i can use for daily use.

The answer is easy, there no such thing as without a single issue. Even a real android phone have flaws. Hardware, software, and carrier, somewhere between them someone always messed up something. Now between those 4, if you like pure android with the latest update is tytung's ROM. With a little more style out of the box is HyperdroidGBX.

yes, but first, wipe/format, when in cwm you must wipe data to install new rom, and everything is the same.
so when in cwm i will
1. wipe data factory reset
2. wipe cache partitions
3. install zip from sd if I have all of my radio's and SPL's installed for the ROM
Correct me if im wrong.

Hi,
Once you get used to the process,it's very easy to change ROMS.
It all seems daunting to begin with, but if you read up well,it's fairly simple...
I never had a regular android phone,as I have come from WinMo.
But I've made my HD2 into an android phone and it's easy switching ROMS.
Read the thread I gave you and number 2 in my sig...
Enjoy
i have tried all the "fast" roms but i feel like HD2 CoreDroid DHD V1.6 EU&TMOUS[SKINNED&TWEAKED] is fast and a bit more stable and if you want a build without sense then i really like CME DHD2 Compact v1.6[Superlight][NoSense][RAFPIGNA 1.9OC]

You can try without wipe cache partitions. Only step 1. and 3. and reboot, and remmeber for unwritten rule, that always after complete FIRST boot, you POWER OFF and POWER ON your phone. IT will make things better. But not *reboot*
thanks
