HI,
With my device, see below, I wish to print to a printer. A4
I wish to do this via blue tooth connection.
Please advise..
- Do I need software to do this on the device for Wm5 ? If so who provides this ?
- Can you recommend a nice compact ( small ) printer brand or model that will do this for me. One I can take with me on travel and plug into a wall.
Also it would be good if the printer has USB from device to printer as well as a back up.
Please advise thanks
Well after much frustration this is my story. I wish to print from device directly to printer formated MS Office documents rec'd by email attachments.
Firstly...
Printers choice >> ip90 Canon or the HP Deskjet 460wbt
I found this link say HP 460 performs better and longer.
http://www.hp.com/sbso/expert/competitive_460_vs_canon_ip90.pdf
Canon has a high demand on ink, and a lower dpi for text printing. What is more important you need software for device that supports the print and works.
Both www.amazon.com and www.cnet.com say ip90 is a better printer, but this is for notebooks and not PPC.
I purchased the HP Deskjet 460 with BT device. Set up on Com8 port for bluetooth, they dont tell you this.
Secondly, software selections
PrintBoy >> www.bachmannsoftware.com
ClearVue Suite ( Full version ) >> www.westtek.com
Testing printing on rec'd email word doc attachments with plenty of neat formats and graphics.
Thirdly my testing
PrintBoy
Did not print the word doc at all < I found out the reason why, as PrintBoy does not support print tables on a word doc, so PrintBoy is not 100% capable of printing word docs > , but it did print stuff that was very plain like text files. It has documentation to say the HP printer has been tested and confirmed to work. ip90 print not so confident. see here printer matrix for printboy here >> http://www.bachmannsoftware.com/PrinterMatrixWEB.pdf
ClearVue Suite prints native MS office files ( xls, doc, ppt) not WM5 pocket word or doc files. And it prints them very well. Prints them from email and device ok. But this software will not print plain text files. So you need both if you want full print functionality.
I did not consider ActivePrint as I wanted to print directly from device to printer without the need for a desktop pc. I am still looking at PIEprint and others ( ie http://www.fieldsoftware.com/default.htm ).
Hope this helps !
I have a WM5 device (Mitac Mio a701). I just pair it w/ bt printer (an hp 450 deskjet w/ the compact flash BT card) and i can just print, no need for extra software. It's been a while, but you either select print, or send the file.
Regards,
Jason
can u print from the mogul? I have a laptop printer and was wondering if I caould us it to print from my Mogul, seems like it can do everything else.
Ok with my Sprint Mogul I was able to use my blue tooth to use my portable Canon printer. I was able to print my notes. I use Opera Mobil version and there appears not be be able to print things from the internet. I was wondering is there any program that would allow me to be able to print things or a means to print even documents etc. It would be nice to print my boarding pass from lets say Southwest Airlines and not have to set up my laptop. Anyone has ideas how this can be done?
Thanks
Chuck

I thought Sprint had removed it on the 6.5 upgrade, but they just had moved it into the Tools option on the start menu. It is in there and hiding.
A word of advice. Even though a small number of printers are listed, most printers have "emulations" that you can use. For example, I have a Brother laser and it has a HP LaserJet emulation. You can't use all the features but it prints simple things like word docs and emails.
Ok thanks a lot
I'm going to try it.
bye
Am looking for some recommendations for a wireless printer for my a500 am getting tired of turning on my computer just to air print

Thanks I'm looking for an all in one hp any recommendations?
Just remember to give the Model Numbers also Might help a little...
I have an Epson Artisan 835 and I print with the Epson Print app. I have not tried it with the Acer Print app.
I know the HP M1536dnf works with Acer print, as we have one at work.
I wouldn't recommend it though. HP printers usually rank at the bottom in terms of reliability. Oh and it's not a wifi printer. Network wired ones work fine for the Acer print app too.
I have a canon mx series 347 I think but I can't get any bloody app to print from it. So not really a recommendation but just a suggestion to steer clear of canon.
Steer clear of Epsons with the extermal Edimax print servers.
Acer print works beautifully for my home HP Deskjet F4580 (wifi printer) and work's Konicia Minolta Bizhub. Have yet out find any other printer app that works as well, actually.
I have a HP Photosmart 6510 printer. Paid 110.00 and really like it. Its a wireless Eprinter. You setup the printer with it's own email address. You can then print documents or pictures instantly from your phone or tablet or computer at home or across town or any where in the world. Go to the link below and you can view a demo. It also has individual ink cartridges that I can refill myself to save money

I have a rather old wifi printer.... it is a Brother HL-2170W
The app I use to print is called PrinterShare Mobile Print by Dynamix USA, LLC. I have the full version from the Amazon app store (when they gave it away for free one day) and it is great. printing could not be easier

Thanks ! it's just what I'm looking for
if you have Chrome it doesnt matter what printer you use ,it will work , the cloud app works fine , I have access to it with my Iphone ,Windows Phone 7 and my Acer's Aspire netbook and a500 , all these devices work just fine with cloud print ! I suppose if I was really energetic I could get my wifes Kindle Fire to work on it as well!
Eprint is unique except it only works on a limited number of HP printers
I have an HP P1102w Laser and works fine with my Iconia and Ms2 using hp ePrint
Sent from my Milestone 2 using XDA App
