I received a $10 Amazon.com gift certificate today but it's almost worthless to me:
I live in the Netherlands
I hardly ever buy from Amazon
If I do, I buy from Amazon.co.uk, not Amazon.com (cheaper and lowershipping charges inside Europe)
and the gift certificate is only valid on amazon.com, not amazon.co.uk...
So
I'M GIVING IT AWAY
If you are living in the US , are an amazon client and want this $10 gift certificate, please send me a PM with your email address (replace the ampersant sign by the word AT) and place a message in this thread saying that you did. So others can see that they're too late.
This is a ONE time offer for ONE SINGLE gift certificate for ONE person only.
no strings attached
Thank you....PM sent
PM received, check sent, case closed
awwww.....if only i had come earlier
come on ather, I would have loved to've given it to you, but since when is Muharraq in the US?
Sorry, my fault, I forgot to mention that I was looking for someone in the US. Anyhow, I only had one GC
OH !!..i thought its for every one..sorry
Hello to all in the Vibrant community here. For anyone who didn't know this, T-Mobile is offering a Buy One get a Second Samsung Vibrant Free when signing a new 2 year contract, and after a $50 mail in rebate.
http://phandroid.com/2010/09/08/sam...-mobile-kids-are-free-family-plans-announced/
If anyone here is getting a Vibrant from T-Mobile, or knows of someone who is, I would be willing to shell out the cost of your $199 (I think) in exchange for the second handset.
Just trying to get a piece of this awesome phone. Anyone interested can PM me.
Woot 15 days and they let me swap the my touch for the vibrant. Thanks for letting us know about the buy one get one.

I ordered a microSIM activation kit from T-Mobile a week ago, and called today to inquire where it was. Due to some system issues, they couldn't tell me anything besides either a) wait until it shows/doesn't show up, or b) go into a T-Mobile store and have them sell me a SIM and activate it. Well I want to do the $30 plan, which is online only from what I gather, so having them activate it isn't an option.
I ended up just buying a SIM from them, but ran into a snag in that there is no activation code with the SIM. It's almost like this is a replacement SIM or something...hell, I don't know. Since I haven't taken the SIM out of the card, can I take it back? Is there a different kind of SIM that I should be looking for (e.g. prepaid instead of replacement??). Hell, I'd use a burner, but from what I've read, it isn't possible to port a number to a burners SIM??
All I know is that I'm tired of waiting on a package from USPS, that could be in Angola for all I know, and I have a Sprint account I am itching to cancel (and a nice new Nexus 4 I'd like to use instead of this EVO LTE).
Any insight would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!
why don't you just ask TMo yourself? none of us are TMo employees.
I'm in the identical position waiting for my microsim to arrive so I can port my number from sprint.

The Sim comes on a card right? There is s number on the card which identifies to the CSR what sim to activate.... You need to call T-Mobile customer care

Thanks for the non-snarky response! My local store is closed, and their customer service line transferred me 4 times before cutting off. I figured that, in the great hive mind, SOMEONE had to be in the same position, and might know the answer.
The SIM did come on a card, and there is a SIM number, and a PUK number, whatever that is. I suppose I can try to brave the gauntlet that is customer service again...

Customer service cannot activate the $30 100 min 5gb plan, it is for new web activations only
CS cannot activate this deal for you and the store cannot either.
Go back to the store and get the activation code you need.
Be patient and don't waste your money.

Cool, thanks. I'm assuming the activation code is specific to the SIM? I'll head by the store in the morning. This EVO is just painful after playing around on the Nexus...

Typically the activation code is printed on the paper pamphlet that comes with the phone. I have no idea if the codes are tied to the sim- I suspect they aren't since I received a card and a separate sealed pamphlet.
since I actually was a big jerk and ordered some when t-mobile was free, I have two extra activation codes - incoming PM.
I did the same.
Ordered from the website. Got it yesterday. The activation code was on the booklet. Activated first on Pay As You go. (by mistake, don't know why). Had to wait for a day before I could change the plan. Next day activated the 30$ plan online. Voila!
P.S. the 30$ plan is also available in walmart. You can buy it online and walmart sends you the code through which you can activate it online. My bro does that

Good info, just in case my fat fingers borked it. Thanks! Through this whole process, I just wasn't sure if there was something "special" about the kit they send out, and really don't like relying on USPS...
I already have about $50 in Play Store Credit. I'll get another $100 from two Nexi purchases. I wish there was a way to convert that credit into Google Play Store Gift Cards so I can gift them. It's still a Google Play Store Gift card and goes straight to Google. I just don't understand why Google doesn't allow us to do something this simple and obvious. Anyone have any workarounds to make something like this possible?
I saw some suggestions on creating an App that takes in-app payments and using it. Seems convoluted and I'd lose 30%. But I guess I may just try that.
That is convoluted, but if you were going to not be able to use it at all in a year it would be better than losing it.
Edit: does it work to pay for Google Music? Maybe try that?
Because if they allowed you to exchange them for a physical gift card you can resell them to a number of sites that buy gift cards. Most if not all of them do not accept e-gift cards or cards that expire like the Nexus gift.
Ebay does not allow selling e-gift cards either (although plenty do). I'm not sure what happens if you get flagged on eBay selling an e-gift card.
To be honest I don't really know what the credit can be used for. I guess whatever crap that's on the play store like music and movies which I can probably get for free otherwise?
I'll likely just use it to support app developers and buy paid versions of their stuff.

I'm pretty sure you are just emailed a code for the $50 when ordering the phones. So all you have to do is give that code to the person you want to gift it too and they redeem it

That's right. I already got the code for the 6P which will arrive tomorrow. The problem with the $50 code is that it's a lot for a single person. But if I could have split it into 2 $25 or the $100 into 5 $20, it would make a much easier gift to give to family and friends.
I already have paid apps for any apps that I use. I have a few in the wish list, but nothing really compelling. I'm never going to buy any of the ridiculously priced movies. I get most of my music from Amazon. But most of my music is really ripped from my CDs. Google doesn't have a particularly good India music collection.

That's a good point. I hadn't considered that. Gift cards don't expire. These would. But I wish I could have at least split up the Play Credit. Oh well.
I'm planning to move up from my Note 5. Q is which of these 2 are offering a better deal. ATT offers the s2 watch while BB offers the Fit 2. Otherwise are they really so different?
Also doesn't BB have a poor reputation for delivering on time?

Can you please give more in-depth instructions on how to do this?
I'm ordering my phone through ATT, but am interested in the memory card (I already have a Moto 360 2nd gen and am quite pleased with it, so no need for the Gear S2).

Man... I preordered the S7 Edge through BestBuy and it was a total mess.
They took damn near a month after release to get the phone out to many people... So many delays... So many issues with them...
If you want to return, you only have 14 days - I had to argue with them to return my first device (due to small issue) but they refused at first saying it was past 14 days. I told them it was past 14 days because THEY took forever to ship it out to me. They ended up giving me a replacement but told me I wouldn't be able to return that replacement to them.
They have good promotions and free stuff but Best Buy Customer Service is abysmal. Seriously!!
I think the best deal I've seen so far (in the US) is from Sam's Club - google it and check it out.
Who knows if Best Buy is going to make the same mistakes when this phone is released.
I ordered mine thru Target. They are giving a $100 gift card and giving you $200 gift card to trade in a old phone. Hard to beat $300 and I'll still order the sd card, once I get my phone.

target is cheaper with the $100 gift card (comes to $809). I assume you can still get the 256mb SD card direct from Samsung?
how good are they on dates on preorders and does anyone know what their return policy is?

That is the only question. I've never dealt with them before with cell phones, so I can't answer that.

Do you have the link for the $200 phone turn in? I couldn't find that?
Sure here is the link:

The best buy deal if you do it in store you will get your watch or mem card the day you pick up the phone. Heck you can get a s7 edge with that deal right now.

Another limitation of the Note 7 deal at target is that you cannot turn in a phone to them. If you are on a next plan, and eligible for an upgrade, but have not yet paid off your full plan, they cannot sell you a Note 7 on that line. I was told only AT&T stores and Best Buy can do that. So if you own your phone ourtight, then you can do the target (and Sam's Club) deals, if are currently on a Next plan, you cannot use them.
1 line of mine is ok, but the other I am going to have to go somewhere else.

Interesting, one question I have is: Can we pay additional money on the phone to lower the monthly payment? I know that AT&T allows you to do this but I am not sure, if the others do.

With a similar offer last month on the s7, they said that I could have used the trade in gift card as a down payment and reduced my monthly payment... so, I imagine that the u can do down payments.
Best Buy already shipped my watch. No need to even go to the Samsung site.
