I'm trying to copy the larger vga .exe into my windows folder, but it won't let me as they are read only. how can I do this
maybe I'm being a dumbass, but could someone tell me how to do this?
help me please
use a tool like Resco Explorer that can set/reset attributes, or can overwrite read-only files.
cheers bud
or just use shortcuts to the original exe file?
I had the same problem with some "Pocket MSN" files.....
Try to rename the old files. For example, rename them by adding filename"_old".exe
Copy the new files in place and try to delete the old ones. If this is not possible, just leave them.......
I know someone has the the instructions on the word "Sprint" to whatever we want it to be? Can you someone help me and anybody else out and post it please. Thanks in advance!
Can someone help me with this?
Does TF3D config or advanced config tool help you?
If it does i dont know what i need to edit or what needs to be done. I know theres an expert out there.
To change the Sprint Logo you see on the upper right of the hoem tab in TouchFlo3D, you need the following:
1 - Manila Editor from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414861
2 - The file "443d5315_manila" from your \WINDOWS\ folder on your device.
Once you have the file copied over (you can use ActiveSync if on XP, and browse to the \Windows folder on your Mobile device through My Computer - just make sure you're set to show all hidden files and system files and all that stuff - if using Vista, then it's best if you use TotalCommander on your device and copy that file to another location, such as My Documents on your device, then use My Computer and browse your phone and copy it to your desktop), start up Manila Editor and select the path containing that file.
You should see the one file show up in the list (happens to be "operator_logo.qtc").
Now, on the right side, you'll actually see the logo... 256wx64h - it's a transparent PNG, so, if you make a new graphic - make sure you create a transparent PNG... Then, in Manila Editor, click "Replace" and point it to the new graphic you've made. One complete, exit, and you'll now have to copy your new "443d5315_manila" back to the \WINDOWS folder on your phone...
If using ActiveSync and showing all hidden/system/operating system files, then you should be able to browse to the \WINDOWS folder on your mobile device via My Computer... Just drag the file, and overwrite the original.
If using Vista, then copy the file back to the My Documents folder on your device, and use Total Commander on the phone to copy it into the \WINDOWS folder on your device.
NOTE: If you're using Vista with UAC enabled, you will need to run Manila Editor as an Administrator.
Hopefully this information helps you out - I just did it a few days ago and the phone looks much nicer without that harsh yellow Sprint logo (I've put my work's logo, which, conveniently enough, matches the default blue/green theme, and looks great).
I really want to try this on my Diamond but I don;t have the 443d5315_manila in my Windows folder.
Is there somewhere I can get one? At the moment it just displays the default operator text but I want to add a logo.

This worked great. Replaced it with a pic I made.
dont think this is documented not seen but i'm running windows xp and i copy manila files directly from my pc to my ppc windows folder. First thing to do is in windows explorer in tools at the top a screen go to folder options/View then you need to click on SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS Then remove the checks from hide extentions of known files ( makes it easier to see what files your working with ) also remove the check from hide protected operating system files. all done now after you have killed manila on your diamond in setting/all settings/today/items you can then copy and paste any manila files directly from your computer to your diamonds windows folder and resart manila in a reverse of descibed before. So no need for resco explorer or to have folders of manila files taking space on your internal storage
Sorry for my poor english I'm from yorkshire lol
I want to use an icon that is part of an .exe file on my Ozone.
The file is part of the ROM and I cannot copy it (tried from the device itself to SD card and tried using ActiveStink to desktop).
I need to get the .exe file on my desktop so I can extract the icons.
Is there a way to do this.
All I get is "Access Denied"?
HI,
For some reason I can't copy any files in my windows folder
I select the file, copy, go to my windows folder, but then I can't paste them. I don't get an error message, but the option "paste" in the menu isn't even there, everytime I try this doesn't matter what kind file I choose
And the windows folder isn't viewed when I'm using my pc to look on the HD of my Toch 2 (WM 6,5)?
isn't that weird?
What explorere do you use, with Total Comander i can do it.

I'm using the explorer of the Activesync program. If I connect the device to my pc, I can only see the internal HD (as far as I know) using the activesync explorer.
And the copying I tried from the device itself. So I've selected a file on my HTC (using the explorer of the HTC itself), and tried to paste it in the windows folder, but mt HTC doesn't show the option paste in the windows folder.
You suggest to use Total Commander for this?
Then I will try this as soon as I'm back home from work....
Look, you cant see Windows folder without special Explorer, cause its a system folder. Take Total Comander, install on your phone, and you will be able to copy/paste files out from Windows folder, and then put them on your PC.
