Hi,
I got a Palm Bluetooth wireless keyboard for Christmas but I can't get it working with my T-Mobile Ameo.
I have installed the keyboard drivers (http://www.palm.com/us/support/accessories/btwirelesskeyboard.html) and get a "wireless keyboard" icon in Programs. But when I click it and tick "Enable keyboard" the Ameo just hangs. The only thing I can do is take the battery out to reset it.
Anyone else found this? or fixed this?
The keyboard won't work via the normal Bluetooth pairing interface either.
Thanks,
Tom
Still no luck
I still haven't managed to get this Bluetooth keyboard working. Just thought I'd post some more details in case anyone was interested:
* Keyboard: Palm Wireless Keyboard (3245WW): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Palm-Wirele...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1199552934&sr=1-4
* Palm Keyboard software installed on Ameo: v1.1.0.2.
* Ameo OS: Windows Mobile 5.0.
Anyone know of a bluetooth keyboard that does work with the Ameo?
Replacement
I bought a replacement keyboard - It is the "Freedom Universal Keyboard" which I can report works ok with the Ameo. See http://www.tomfotherby.com/blog/ind...board-dec2007-christmas-present-from-grandpa/ for comments and installation instructions.
I ebayed the keyboard that didn't work (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270203021878).
I thought I'd post an update about the "Freedom Universal Keyboard" keyboard now I've been using it for a while with my Ameo. I no longer recommend it! There are 3 problems with it:
1) I have to pair it every time I turn my Ameo on and pairing is flaky (average of 10 minutes faffing around just to get a working connection). Pairing rarely works first time. You have to turn off other bluetooth devices. Sometimes I have to restart my Ameo multiple times. You get the picture.
2) You can't hold down shift to select text (vital for copy&paste).
3) The Home and End keys don't work (vital if you ever write long sentences).
Anyone found a good bluetooth keyboard yet?
i use the thinkoutside/igo bluetooth keyboard and mouse, i highly recommend them!!
the links below are to the direct website, but you can do a web search and find them much cheaper elsewhere.
the mouse
the keyboard
hope this works better for you, i have no complaints, enjoy!!
Hello,
I think the only thing missing for my Kaiser is a keyboard. I think I'd even accept a bluetooth one, but i R E A L L Y hate batteries. I think this is a very old technology, and I prefer accumulators (sorry if that's not the right word, but I hope you get what I mean).
So my questions are:
1. Is there a keyboard working with the Kaiser without bluetooth (= with a wire)?
2. Is there a keyboard with a rechargeable battery (not one that you have to take out to load, but one just like in phones)?
Thanks in advance!
Hello everyone.
That's it. My "good" old Universal finally gave way to a brand new HTC Touch Diamond, as I changed phone provider. Since I am always reluctant to sell my old toys, I am trying to recycle the beast into something usefull.
The great thing about the touch diamond is that it is relatively small compared to the Uni, which makes it handy to carry around as the main phone. The down side of this is that typing on the touch screen isn't the most efficient input method around.
I am looking at various options like the virtual keyboard (a laser projected keyboard), a stowaway keyboard or other bluetooth options. They are expensive, though.
This is why I am writing this email: is there a known tool that would allow me to use the Universal as a bluetooth keyboard emulator? I have looked at Remote Commander, but it can only control a PC, which is not what I am looking for.
Please send your comments!
Thank you!!
Ohh i see. so you want to use the (big) keyboard on the universal to type out stuff to your htc touch diamond?
I dont know how you would do off hand. But thats an interesting idea. On the first glance though i wouldnt gain much benifit from the universal keyboard anyway maybe 2 times quicker. But if i did get the full size keybaord i could type maybe 10 times faster. But i see your point though that bluetooth keyboards are expenive. You could bit the bullet and sell your universal for exchange for a bluetooth keyboard (I would get a stowaway mainly because i touch type and you cant do it with a laser keyboard)
If you find a way to use your universal as a keyboard let me know how it turns out. Im pretty intrested on how it would work.
Hy Guys,
to you know a online shop where i can buy a
Keyboard for the G1 (Dream)?
I love this phone and would know how it looks
inside, so i damaged my connection cable to
the keyboard ... :-/
Thanks for your informations!!
Mike
did you try looking on google?
Don't you mean QWERTY? =/
QWERTZ is the layout used in Germany, as Z is far more common than Y in German (if I recall).
Yes i mean QWERTZ...this is the layout for Germany, Austria....
Sure i have watched @ google for it, but the only thing
i found was QWERTY Keyboards.
After a few !hours! of phonecalls i got a "re-re-reseller" in Germany
I have a G2 (with a physical keyboard) and I keep thinking about how awesome it would be as a Bluetooth keyboard for the Xoom. Is this possible? Is it already out?
