Hero voice activation - Hero, G2 Touch General

Hi , just paired up my hero with my sony ericson bluetooth headset, does anyone know whether the hero supports voice calling, with my previous phone i recorded voice tags for people and was able to press a button on my bluetooth headset , speak the name of the person i wished to call and activate a phone call that way??

not in the european versions of android. in the us you can long-press the call button _on the phone_ to activate voice dialing. but the whole process is rather lame, and needs to be adapted to allow for true hands-free operation like it is required by law in (almost?) all of europe.

MS Voice Command still does not work through Bluetooth

I changed the path to voice command in the registry (HKLM/Software/OEM/VoiceCommand/ Path=\Program Files\VoiceCommand\voicecmd.exe), but my Cardo Scala-500 headset still does not activate Voice Command. I searched extensively, was not able to find how to make them talk to each other. Any ideas? Anybody else using MDA+Scala-500 combination with Voice Command successfully? I am on the last official T-mobile ROM.
I don't know if it is anything related. When I first paired my Wizard with a Motorola Bluetooth, the pairing process says it is hands free device. However, it will not do voice dial. Then I tap long on the selection of this device in Bluetooth configuration and bring up the menu. In the menu, I select make this device the default hands free. Afterwards, it will work with voice dial.
You need to check to see if that headset supports voice dialing. I beleive that there are some out there that don't.
The "Hands Free" checkbox is checked on the device. And the manufacturer says it does support voice dialing. Anecdotal evidence (online search) also says that some people were able to use MDA with this headset and MS Voice Command.
Can it be a function of my ROM or any radio versions? They are in my signature if it matters.
Also, the headset has "Bluetooth version: 1.2 Class2". I do not know what that means, maybe that is why I think it may matter.
Different headsets behave in wildly different ways when it comes to activating voice dialing. My Moto HS850, for example, activates VC on the second push of the button, and you can tell at the same time it is pulling all sounds from the phone so you can hear the "bling-bling"... and then it takes its sweet long time in allowing the phone to return to normal so you cannot use VC again until that happens. My Bluespoon AX2 is different, in that it works every other time, and my Jabra BT800 just plain doesn't even work.
I suggest you play around with the BT config in your phone to see what works best for you.
I tried one click, double-click, tripple, and push-and-hold - nothing works.
Also, just tried a colleague's headset (Jabra JX10), it does not activate Voice Command on my Wizard either. I am going to talk to the manufacturer of my headset, see what they say.

can a voice tell who is calling while using the bt headset?

i have a bt headset and tmobile mda vario.
i have paired the two...everything goes smoothly durings calls (incoming or outgoing).
i want to know if there is a way, while receiving a call a voice could tell me who is making the call ? without looking on the device?
something like :" CALLER X is CALLING " ... ?
Microsoft Voice Command.
Google it up.
I like using PhotoContacts Pro a little better. That way I can set up ringtones for the people that I actually want to talk to. That being said...Voice Command is the best addition I could have made to my Wizard since it allows you to voice dial everyone in your contacts by name or company and needs no training.

Voice Control

Considering so many states are inacting no cellphone laws while driving in cars I was wondering if anyone found a program that will allow for full or custom voice control of their phone without having to press a button on the phone? Something like a call sign? I know Microsoft Voice Command requires you to press a button but is there one where it listens for you to say something to activate the voice command. Also maybe customize how it reacts such as openning programs? I had one long ago but it was limited. Anyone find anything newer?
i used to have this feature on one of my older phones s710a i could say a world or what it called a magic word and have it do whatever i prerecorded
the only problem i see with tryin to do this with a bluetooth headset is that the bluetooth headset would have to be on all the time in order to recieve the magic word or command whatever you wanna call it
but then again this could probably be elminated if you have a hands free car kit that gets power from the car outlet
if that were the case then i think you could keep the bt audio always on and then use something like voice command or cyberion would probably need sometime of voice recognition so in case somebody else said the word it wouldn't activate the feature

Voice Dialing Application for HD2 - Available?

Correct me if I am wrong, but there is no built in voice dialing capability tools included with the HD2?
I would like to be able to (like I have with the last 2 HTC Smartphones) be able to voice dial a contact over a bluetooth headset or car unit....
Any recommendations, or is this feature hidden somewhere that I simply have to activate? If there is an app I can get, preferrably free, please advise. Thanks!
Microsoft Voice Command is probably the best out there... its almost uncanny how you can just talk to your phone and ask it stuff with no training.... Call blah blah blah.... what are my apointments? .... open file explorer.... etc etc etc....
I use it with a bluetooth headset all the time to make and receive calls all the time.... calls received will have the caller's name read to me via BT headset
Thanks, so nothing is included with the HD2 then correct? Is there a free version we can get for our HD2 here or elsewhere of Voice Command?

And that's on an HD2?
MSVC is pretty much the best out there...the other alternative is the Cyberon Speed Dial, but you do have to record for each contact.

Which MSVC version are you using?
I've been having strange problems with my Blueant Supertooth light and MSVC 1.6.
The problems are:
- My Blueant doesn't terminate the connection after calls, the lights and speaker just stays on eventhough the call has been terminated.
- No incoming call announcement from the blueant device.
- Sometimes when I press the call button on my BT device, voice commander responds on the phone's speaker??
Weird... I didn't have the above problems with my TD, although I never could get the incoming call announcement to work as well.
on the same lines, is there any application to type what you speak? This way we could use speech to text instead of using the keyboard!
It is a huge letdown that the HD2 does not already INCLUDE a voice dialing application like the past several HTC phones have had, for years.
HTC needs to step up the plate and both provide this and make sure that bluetooth voice dialing protocols are in place.
Has anyone used the Cyberon app yet? I believe the one is called "Voice Dialer" and the other is called "Voice Commander", not sure what the actual difference is or if either work fully on the HD2.
Hi. I'm using Cyberon Voice Sped Dialer on my HD2 and have set up my voice dals.
However, when I go to use the voice dial I only every get the 'tone' through the phone speaker and no longer through my BT headset. I have a Jawbone 2 BT headset.
My Touch HD worked fine with it and you could dial using voice through the headset but I no longer can on the HD2.
Is there a way to fix this? Do I need different software or is it just one of those things?
Thanks.
Owen.
Hi,
Im having the same problems with my HD2 device. I have a parrot bluetooth carkit and with this new device it doens't work like it should because there is no voice dialing.
I've tried several programs like Microsoft Voice command and other voice command programs like VITO voice command and Cyberon.
Is there any program that just looks like the voice dialing on the HTC Diamond? I just want to record my own voice and use it with my bluetooth carkit.
Thanks,

The problems with bluetooth is down to the HD2 using a widcomm bluetooth stack as apposed to a microsoft one. I personally havent found a voice dialing app that will work with the widcomm stack.
So what do we do now? I really love this phone but this is a huge problem for me...
Good question.... experiment!? E-mail voice recognition manufactures?
I have cyberon voice speed dial 1.2
I cant get it to work through my BT but I have sort cut on home that I press and it opens all my progs and dial contacts, one of the best things about my phone now I love that it opens all my programs...
I used to have a n95 and this put an auto voice tag on each contact and worked through any BT, shame the HD2 hasnt got an app that can do that ... and open my progs..
I'm also still waiting for a solution.
I have 2 bt handsfree devices on my 2 cars (Parrot and Blueant)...and MSVC only works for the first try after a soft reset.
After the first go, MSVC just goes thru the phone's mic and speaker. Very annoying when you still need to hold the phone up while driving AND you have a bluetooth handsfree device.

Is it possible for someone to cook a ROM with the MSFT bluetooth stack? Or is that too hardware/driver dependent?
You guys should check out the threat with the name: Voice Dial Removed! WTF?
Since I cannot post links yet I can't post the exact link but I'm sure you guys are able to use the search function on this website
Someone claims to have found a working solution for the problem, it's on the second page of the thread.. I'm going to test it right now
Edit: IT WORKS!! At first holding the call button didn't work for me, so I followed the instructions on the first page and now it works!!

About to try it, hope it works with BT voice dial, if not then Duttys WM6.5 works as well as it can and includes the long press fix as standard.
Owen.
To install .CAB according to order of their numbering.
Do not forget to put a tick in Audio-adjustments sets (' To reproduce system sounds on removed set ').
I did not check it by myself yet.
I tried to make ONE .CAB but did not find apropriate software.
Let's try this way.

I have succeeded to activate the CVSD with BT Headset button press with the "4_CVSD_1.2_build_61226_1_BTHeadsetFixed.cab" given in the mail above.
But I can not hear the Voice Tag of the contact from the BT Headset but from the speaker of the HD2 as a confirmation to my speed dial speech.
And I have to check the screen when dialing started if I am motocycling
Any proposal to fix that little problem?

[Q] Voice Dialing in Xperia Arc with Headset

Hi,
I'm considering buying an Arc which will be my first Android phone.
I understand that voice dialing is supported in the OS level but since there's no hardware search key, it can only be activated via the on-screen widget.
My question is, to Arc owners, is whether there's a way to activate voice commands without using the screen with a bluetooth or wired headset?
In an old Nokia device I had, pressing the bluetooth headset button once launched voice dial, something like that.
Thanks in advance.

Yes. As you said, you push the button on your headset and voice command is activate (you can say whatever you want) I have used it to call people. If you want me to try anything just let me know.
