Files needed to unmod Manila 2.1 VGA - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

The ROM I'm currently using comes with Manila 2.1 pre-installed. While it's mostly unmodded, the modification to apply the home tab background to all tabs was put in, by the ROM author. I don't like this feature and would like to remove it so that the home tab has my custom wallpaper and the rest of the tabs have the default black background.
I've searched through the EXT package for the latest Manila 2.1 release and I can't locate these files, so I was wondering if you guys could help. Looking at the _setup.xml for the cab version of the all tabs mod, it would appear I need these files:
1c684cd8_manila
5c9aa261_manila
7adfaca3_manila
SetupDLL.dll
Can someone help me out here by either uploading them, for me, or explaining to me where I can find them. Thank you in advance.

You can find them in the package release of GenY Manila

Yeah, I goofed. I unhid system files, but forgot to direct the search tool to include system files in it's results. Thanks, though.

Installing themes/manila files without using TF3D Config on a 1.93 o2 ROM

Hi All
First of all I am new to all of this but have spent the last week trying to figure out what to do but failing badly - therefore apologies to you all if my question could be easily found through a google search ...., but I have failed to find it
So at the heading says - how do I install a theme/manila files onto my Ignito without using TF3D Config - I have tried copying them across to the windows directory but still cannot see them listed under the Today settings.
I am using TF3D, on a 1.93 rom on a O2 UK tariff
Fingers crossed someone will be able to help me in simple - idiot proof - instructions
Thanks all
Jean
Ermmm - in light of the fact 77 people have looked at this but not replied does that mean ....
a. Its a really stupid question not worthy of a reply
or
b. No one knows the answer
a lot of people use tf3d config on 1.93 roms with no known
problems.give it a try.you can always take it off again and
return to your stock rom.
Hi i have a 1.93 rom which had the o2 theme, i installed the original black theme on it using tf3d config and ive had no problems.

use total commander to copy and paste the files into the windows directory!
Is there actually a reason why you're trying to do this? TF3D Config is a quick and easy method for changing your theme so to try and accomplish this manually seems needlessly complex. Which, I'd guess, is probably why no one's answered your question; it's likely that no one has ever tried to do it manually as TF3D Config does it all for you.
For the record I've got the stock 1.93 ROM on O2 and I've managed to change theme with TF3D Config without any problems at all. My girlfriend's done the same with her stock 1.93 Vodafone ROM.
Hi All
Thanks so much - the problem I am having is that I can't find any themes within the TF3D config programme - so for example - it asks for a path to the file containing the theme - I highlight the theme location but it then does'nt load
Am I being really dumb!!
Thanks again all

loool OMG select the folder where your themes are located!
You can't select TF3D themes in the Today settings. A WM6 theme (.tsk files) yes, but no Touchflo.. You'll have to either use TF3DConfig> Create a folder called 'themes' (without quotes) in your storage card and put the xxx.theme files in there. Use tf3dconfig, press 'path', doubble click storage card, highlight themes, and press 'ok'. There has to be only .theme files in there, no folders or zip files, they don't work...
Or if you want to copy files to the windows directory, the method is to extract all the manila-files from a theme. Copy and overwrite all the manila files to the windows folder. Folders, zip-files or .theme-files do not work. Only manila files. I wouldn't recommend this one, but you gotta do what you gotta do..

Thanks again - I've done exactly as you say - and in fact that's what I have been doing - yet no theme is available within TF3D - I'm trying to install a manila theme called Black n Blue - I get a warning saying I must have 20mb free - which I have - so at a complete loss as to the problem.

Hmm this is weird.. what ROM do you have? Is it stock? And what version of tf3dconfig are you using?

Rom: 1.93.206.3 wme - Original o2 VERSION
TF3Dconfig: 0.6.7
It's very frsutrating as the process should be simple - yet installing a manila theme in anyway seems impossible - I can change the picture background via Flo and of course have a WM theme if I turn off Touch Flo - just not install a theme that intergrates with TFlo - thanks for the time and help
Yes I can imagine. But on the thread about tf3d config, it says 'Please do not install a Theme on a 1.93 ROM!' Maybe he's referring to stock roms? I also have a 1.93 rom, but it works without any hassle. You are not willing to update to a custom rom?
Have you tried to copy all the manila files to your windows folder? Use total commander.. original explorer does not work..
I think that's what I'm going to have to do - just less hassle if I can get away without replacing the rom - never mind it was worth a try - the weird thing is even copying across to the windows folder- via ActiveSyn - also does'nt work - so a bit stumped
Thanks for all the help though
You would have to use Total Commander to to copy files from your 4gb storage card to your windows folder. It doesn't work with activesync or explorer..
Ahh okay thats good to know -off to try!!!!
Perfect - fiddly - but worked a treat - it was trying to copy across via Active Syn that was the issue - hugely appreciated thank you
It's worth noting that this can't be an issue with stock ROMs because both my girlfriend and I have successfully updated our TF3D themes using TF3D Config and we both have stock 1.93 ROMs.
Not that that helps you out at all, but at least people reading this will know it is perfectly possible to do this using a stock ROM.

Same here, i have tried many themes on the stock o2 ROM with the TF3D config with no issues.
I can't believe so many people out there don't realize what the problem is. The aforementioned "Black and Blue" theme (and many others) is NOT a .theme file, so the TF3D Config application CANNOT be used to apply it. It is instead just a bunch of manila files that need to be copied into the Windows directory (with Total Commander from the sound of it). I have had the same problem with the same theme.
Are we being dumb in that there is a simple way to create the .theme file? From a collection of manila files?

Manila weather file

Hi, recently I tried to update my manila weather files, but something went wrong. I also only just renamed the old manila files instead of copying the original files outside the windows folder. Therefore, I now have an oval moon on my TF3D weather tab (I already found the proper manila file to get the sun normally shaped). Now I'm looking for the following file to get my 'normal' moon back again as well: 060bb8f2_manila
Could somebody please upload it for me? It can be found in the Windows folder by using Total Commander for example.
Thanks in advance!
here you go it is from a 2.03 rom
All credits for you! Got my nice moon back now

Change Internet TAB - 2.1

Hey people,
I would like to know if there is a way to change the internet tab in Manila 2.1. It's currently showing push internet links, but I'd like it to look like Manila 2.5, with the thumbnails.
Any way to change this? Not using push internet anyways, and have it disabled.
Thanks!

Only way is to flash a 2.5 ROM.
Identic to Manila 2.5 have reason Bruce Inman, you have to put a ROM with Manila 2.5.
In Manila 2.1 you can try to change the links like this:
Download the file from PDA to PC InternetPortal.xlm
Open it with Notepad and change the text and address internet.
To change or add the icon:
The icons are in the form qtc, therefore:
Take the icon you want to enter, save it with program like Infrawiew in PNG format [if not already is], with the same program the icon must be brought to the dimensions of 64x64.
Through the program m9editor 3.3.0.1 convert the file from .png in .qtc and put it in the Windows folder on your device.
Back to InternetPortal.xlm file and enter the file name .qtc that we put in windows, then save your changes and restore the file InternetPortal.xlm amended in its place.
Soft reset and there will be changes. [maybe ]
I made these changes with some cooked ROM, not with the original ROM, however you can try
Remember: before backup your original file InternetPortal.xml
Very nice, thanks.

"Re-enable" the INITIAL flip-clock animation?

I've been a little skeptical about installing any of these .CAB files for disabling the INITIAL flip-clock animation... primarily because some people suggest it "overwrites" an original Manila file. For some reason, I've unpacked a few of these .CAB files said to disable the initial animation, and the "modded" Manila files are never the same.
I checked the Windows directory on my device, and didn't find a matching Manila file to any of the modified ones within those .CAB files floating around.
So, my question is... since it doesn't appear that the T-Mobile USA HD2 has the exact same Manila files, will uninstalling the modified "disable" file, "re-enable" the initial animation?
I hope SOMEONE was able to follow what I was just referring to.
All-in-all, I just want to know if uninstalling any one of those .CAB files will "bring back" the original animations that occur...
Thanks.
I'm curious about this as well. I have searched around, but haven't found anything yet. I have a rom which has the animation disabled by default and was looking to find a way to re-enable the flip-clock animation. It's nice to have when showing off your phone.
i'd like to know this, too!
Dont see uninstalling something would add a feature,
But if you have installed the disable clock fix and cant uninstall it, than you can use a tool called "theme Switcher" (search this site) you can click on restore and it has an option to restore Manila to the ROM default.
This undid the "disabling clock flip" for me.
BTW this is a very useful way to undo all unwanted Manila modifications if you get stuck.

[SOLVED] Cooking with cht 1.8.5

Hi all. New to cooking roms. But having fun trying and making decent progress but can figure out how to get cht to work im using osKitchen zero with stock sprint rom as base. Converted cab to ext (even tried oem to ext to see if something screwed up). Anywho everything looks good but looks like the manila files arent getting written in rom. Cht editer works fine. Cookies home tab entries are in registry. Tried prioritizing (spelling?) all other manila folders in case the were overwriting CHT files but didnt make a difference.
Anyone know what im missing here? Any help will be appreciated.
Any particular reg entry or something in app.dat that should be added? Dont install Manila_Home? Prioritize a particular package?
I havent got a clue. Been trying for three days. Im sure its something easy but havent found anything useful searching various WM cooking sites. Tried older CHT packages people posted that said they worked just by adding them to kitchen but they didnt work for me.
Please help!
If you are trying to get CHT editor working in the menu (main home screen) go into your CHT folder and look at the app.reg file. You may see the following entry:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\CHTEditor.lnk]
"Icon"="\\\\Program Files\\CHTEditor\\icon.png"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"CHTE.Path"="\\\\Program Files\\CHTEditor\\CHTEditor.exe"
Change to this:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\CHTEditor.lnk]
"Icon"="\\Program Files\\CHTEditor\\icon.png"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"CHTE.Path"="\\Program Files\\CHTEditor\\CHTEditor.exe"
I had a similar problem when I was trying to cook in cht editor!
If CHt 1.85 wasnt installed in your rom then Cheditor shouldnt work.
When you install CHT 1.85 without any modifications the Home Manila has the same look as the stock one.
You need to use CHTEditor for modding your manila Home page and the export all the reg keys created.

im pretty sure i removed the extra slashes for registry. that was the first thing i noticed.
Cht editer isnt in soft key menu but it works from srart menu. if i make any changes sense fails to load though.
Ok. Im not trying to type this on my phone so maybe I can better explain.
Using osKitchen Zero.
Load stock Sprint TP2 rom (WM 6.5) into kitchen.
Converted CHT and Editer to EXT packages.
Imported those into kitchen.
Added them to rom.
Registry entry is correct for Editer (no extra slashes).
I make no other changes within the kitchen.
Build rom.
Load rom.
End result:
Editer isnt in right soft key menu it is only in start menu. Editer opens and I can make changes. When I apply, manila tries to restart but never loads.
Uploaded packages if anyone would like to see if things are correct.
Not sure if it matters, but I do not copy CHTEditor into its own directory via app.dat.
But your package does contain ManilaFull.xml, which it shouldn't.
Check CoOkies thread, he does explain there why.

With or without ManilaFull it still doesnt work.
I dont think cookies is getting cooked correctly. There must be something else i must do.
Fixing to just give up on this. Nothing seems to work.
Your packages seems to be right though they are same as mine.
Its a priority problem imo, CHTEditor must be cooked after CHT 1.85.
2 Solutions :
1st Insert a numer before the package name Example 01_Co0kie 02_ChtEditor
2nd In Oskitchen right click on ChTEditor ,proprieties and give it priority to Co0kiee.
I dunno if this is of some interest but i cook also CHT Editor language pack in my rom.
I tried that and it still wasnt working. Some other package/s were overwriting the files.
I wasnt aware of the packages cooking by folder name so I just made it so CHT and Editer were the last thing to cook in rom and everything works now.
Thanks for the help though. I learned something valuable if nothing else.
Nice...probably you was cooking Manila files after CHT.
