So I am trying to completely restore my Google ION phone and start the whole process from scratch. I used the process from the UNLCKR website and have hit a road bump. I put the sappimg.nbh straight on the SD card, and not in any folder. When I fastboot this is what I get,
SD Checking...

No image!
Loading...[SAPPDIAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[SAPPIMG.zip]

What could be the issue? Should I rename the file to SAPPIMG.zip and try to flash it from recovery mode?
All the help is greatly appreciated!
your sd card needs to be formatted to FAT32 before applying the sappimg.nbh
Thank you for the quick response!
However, I checked the card and it was already FAT32. I did erase and reformat, put the sappimg.nbh file back on and still nothing.
:-(
3rd time's the charm
Ok, Thank you!!!
I don't know why, but I just reset the computer, reformated the card, and NOW it's starting to work.
I would be so lost without XDA.
Your SD card must be golden card
Hi
Format you SD card with golden card format or buy a new SD card
and check it
Same thing happened to me... and not even clockworkmod recovery would recognize files in my sdcard... well i actually found the error... the partition on my sdcard was deff fat32 and files in it... but the partition was logical... not a primary partition... thats why my phone would not recognize my files... i used partition wizard... since i cant post download links... just google "minitool partition wizard home free" then when installed and opened... scroll down to your sdcard and right click then click modify and options will come up.. just click set as primary partition... and then go up to the top and hit apply... that was it.... i hope this helps someone else too...

I tried to install the hero rom and went to format the sd card with paragon but for some reason it shows my whole sd card as ext2 and I try to delete the partition and format it but it never works. Is there anyway to bring my sd back to life?

I can't do that when I try to it doesn't list the sd as an option. I just have the delete partition ioption but when I remove and re insert my sd it still reads as ext2. idk if I fried the card this sux tho it was only like 3 months old..
Download gparted and boot into that.
Was having similar problems with my sd card. In order to get it to work I used the recovery cd in paragon and it finally read it correctly which allowed me to format it. The recovery cd is provided in paragon. Just go to the "Boot and Rescue" section and follow the steps to create one. Then just restart your computer with it in your dvd drive and it wil automatically boot to it, unless you have that changed for some odd reason.
And the sd card must be in a card reader other than the g1 (a usb reader will work). It just won't mount correctly through the recovery disc of you use your phone

Hi guys. I got a problem with my SD card after I recorded a video on my Nexus One (rom from Paul for very first Froyo over my rooted Nexus). I tried to to mount the SD card to my computer, but after clicking on the mounting button, the card appeared to have something wrong and displayed the warning message "SD Card blank or has unsupported filesystem". I could not access to the data on the card. I cared about my data so I tried to get the card out and used a card reader to read the content of the card from my Windows machine, but it seemed that Windows could not recognized the card. I thought the card was spoiled. I tried to save the card anyhow by trying to format it since I had the backup data on my computer already. Because I could not see the card on my Windows, I could not format it. I tried to format it on my N1, but after clicking on the format button, nothing happened. It seemed that my SD card was really spoiled.
But actually, I found a way that could help to save the SD card for my case. My solution is to try to partition the SD card using the ultility from my Recover section (I am using RA for nexus 1.7.0). The card after partitioning seems to work ok again. So I think the problem for my case is that the recording application already overwrote some data to the partition table on the card and that made my card inaccessible. Partioning the card again will help in this case but about the existing data on the card, I am not quite sure if it is still there. For my case, it's all gone.
Just a little experience to share ...
Hope this solution helps! Am doing the recovery thing now...

You can try to partition your card on an Android phone with RA 1.7.0 (or newer) installed. You can have a look at following page which is about RA for nexus v1.9.0 alpha:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611829
Good luck.
thanks man !
will give it a try... i first have to figure out how to get my phone into recovery mode. the three button method does not work for me.

whoa whoa if you have a galaxy s, do NOT flash the one he linked to. that is for the nexus one only. if you need to partition in windows, try plugging in the card to a reader and opening disk management (type "disk management" w/o quotes after pressing the windows key)
right click the card and hit format
Check your data before formatting it may not be corrupt
I had the same problem, rather than format the card straight away, I mounted it in ra recovery so that it was accessible over usb, then copied off all my data before formatting the card.
Hey guys. I'm currently running this ROM, I've been using it for a few days and have had no problems but today, when I turned the phone off and turned it back on, it took ages to turn back on. Then when it did it all looked them same but was kept freezing etc., then up in the notification bar it said "SD Card Removed Unexpectedly" then my phone went crazy with FC's.
So I took out the battery and restarted the phone. Then, it would turn on and go to the lock screen but then it would reboot and be at a continuius* boot loop of the HTC 'Quietly Brilliant' screen.
So then I took out the battery again, this time I took out the SD card too and booted up and my phone was normal again. Obviously with no phone storage though as there was SD card in. Then after I just skipped the setup I put my SD card back in to my phone and went to the music player and all my saved songs on my SD card played. But no internal storage (I have the SD card partitioned with a 1GB Ext3 partition). Then with the SD card in knowing it still works I rebooted again, only to come back to the HTC screen again.
So basically, how can I fix this?
If I'm going to need to format my SD card is there a way I can backup what's in the Ext3 partition?
Thanks,
L.
Bump. Need to be able to use my phone properly again urgently. Thanks.

It sounds like something is really funky (faulty hardware?) with either your SD card or your phone. You could try reformatting it with that Panasonic tool...
You can backup your SD-EXT partition with CWM/CWR. You can boot CWM from MAGLDR without flashing anything. Just put zImage and initrd.gz from the CWM download on the root of your SD card and boot "AD SD" from MAGLDR.

Thanks for the reply. It's not the phone as I have a 2GB SD card in it right now but that's not big enough.
Yeah I have a problem with CWM, when I click AD SD it says some Kernel error thing.
Is there any other way to find the files in my Ext partition using my computer?

Unfortunately not that I am aware of. Where are the CWM files located on your SD card? Are they on the root or in a subfolder? Did you modify the path MAGLDR looks for the "AD SD" path? Are you using the latest CWM release?
Yep they're on the root of it. I think it's 1.12 I have ATM. How do I modify the path? :S
Nevermind. I tried re-installing and it worked on my 2GB SD. But the thing is, the files I want are on my 16GB that won't read lol. I'll try flash it on that now.
Tried to flash my 16GB. Says SD Kernel Open Failed in red letters? Works with my other SD card though? :S
Now I just tried with my 2GB and it's saying the same thing again.
Hi,
I'm new to the scene and I wanted to try out CM7 booting from SD before I install it to the internal memory. I am having a problem pasting the CM7 zip file on the card. The instructions state "Put the file to the SD card (there is only one partition). Don't change the name of the file."
After I burned the installer image to the card it only shows up as having a capacity of 115mb. It is a sandisk 16gb card. From what I read I need to access another partition, but I dont know how to do this.
Could someone help me out?
Thanks in advance.

If you are seeing a partition named "boot" that is 115MB, that is correct. The CM7 zips are all around 95-97MB. You will not be able to see the other partitions in Windows without additional software (Windows only sees the first active partition on a drive).
(You will, however, see the storage partition (in your case ~13.5GB) if you use USB storage mode to connect your Nook to your PC once your CM7 SD install is set up).
Edited: Sorry, ignore me!
I posted in the wrong thread and couldn't find a way to delete my post!
Yep, the "only one partition" that you see is the "only one partition" that you need. Put the zip in there, put the card in your NC, and gogogo.
Thanks for everyone's reply. I was able to get everything working. I actually just had to rename the zip file to Update-CM.zip for everything to run correctly.
Thanks again.

I would try the latest Thor recovery and then a different SD.
Format it in android Phone .
This has happened in the past to many.. Just all of the sudden as you say. I believe the best result on solving this has been to format the SD Card with a Android cell phone OR by downloading sd format . utility and using that.. I ALWAYS Use my cell phone.. Honeycomb should have put a format utility in it.
Formatting a card in windows for android on some sd cards seem to cause trouble. as the card gets full. Android formatting seems to do something different then windows. Not sure what or why.
Good Luck
