Ive seen alot of guys on here looking for a legitimate sports news application to check on your favorite teams and its finally here. PocketExpress is a new freeware application that is awesome and actually feels like a pay application. For your europeans and americans like me who follow soccer especially champions league..this app does it! it just came out a few weeks ago...and not only does it follow ur favorite teams and leagues..theres a travel utility, movie theatre search, live updated news of all sorts, currrency convertor, weather and a buncha other ****...this thing is awesome...im so glad i uninstalled pocket sportscenter immediatly..that app is trash...enjoy!

Doesn't work in Miri's ROM either. Same problem.
I haven't tried yet, but I think we can get it free from:
http://pocketexpress.com/
i dont get what you guys are talking about....its a simple cab install file. Its specifically for windows mobile 6.1. If theres different versions for the windows mobile older versions install cab then go to the www.pocketexpress.com to check which versions they have. the cab i listed is the newest version.
I think the one posted is not for the ppc as only 1.9mb, according the site the ppc one is 8.6mb. This works fine. Here
The European version is not available for Win Mobile - at least not yet. The US version does work, but it only has American information. Also, the installation program attempts to install .NET 2.0. If you have a later version of .NET installed on your device then it will not install version 2. But the prog runs fine anyway.
i mean the sports tab can give you every european futball club information you need with another tab to follow your favorite teams...plus the news tab/ticker shows world headline news so...its pretty neutral when it comes down to it...it isnt only american information.
Anyone having a problem with PE and the TP2 where the text on the scoreboard is slightly too big so it all looks jumbled?

yes indeed.. Phoenixstudio is similar to the above 'mobile recoding studio' packages I mentioned... but now I've got the bug for a decent DJ Mixing solution...
anyone??
I've also been looking for something like this. I'm using Virtual DJ on my laptop based on an older product which, if recoded, should be able to work on the pocket pc, as its requirements weren't that great.
If I find out something more, I'll post here.
I just found this. THis may be what you are looking for.

cab downloads, but install is unsuccessful no matter if its from the storage card or device
It seems to install and work ok for me from my storage card. FWIW I'm running ROM 1.35.255.2.

I liked Windows Live Search a lot, but mainly because it just plain worked. The java midlet version of GMM was instable if it would even work at all. Google just works better. It also allows you to look up contacts and use them in your searches. Windows Live Search doesn't have that option. I'm sure future versions of Windows Live Search will up the ante and Google will, in turn, raise the bar even higher. Yay for competition.
FYI, I'm also running the SA 1.35 ROM and it installed without any issues. I just went to www.google.com/gmm and opened/ran the installer from there.

Same rom, but no success, "cab installation unsuccessfull" message, even tryng to close ALL active processes
archive corrupted!
Install and all worked fine for me this morning. Maybe save it somewhere first... then try the install? (That's the method that worked for me.)
worked for me too
what about google talk for mobile ???
download the cab on ur PC, active sync and move it to your phone. Their OTA download is messed up.
I tried it a couple times and noticed the file sizes were different. the cab file should be approx 607k. I kept getting 300k when I was getting it over the air directly to my phone.
I went to www.google.com/gmm on my pc, got the wm5 version cab, put it on my phone and installed from my phone just fine.
It doesn't have hybrid map view (streets on the aerial pictures) which Live search has. Actually, live search feels a bit better to me still.
works fine copying the cab over for me on the Vario II, pretty neat.

I cant get my Bluetooth GPS to work. After i hit track with GPS, it errors out and brings up some help file and talks about editing settings in the control panel if you have a BT gps, but i have no idea what its talking about.
what the heck. There's no detail at all for Japan, although google maps has the detail and so does the midlet version.
The midlet, however, can't do searches in Japanese which is why I was glad to try out this new thing.
wow, what a great app. i already used the java midlet before but that didn't work so good. this one does! even the satelite view is quite quick via umts!
the install was ok in one try. i used iexplorer on my tytn and went to the link www.google.com/gmm there i installed the cab file.

I too have been hoping to have this. Unfortunately I don't think it exist yet on on the WM5 platform. I have so many websites that I wish I would access using our device but just have to go back to my desktop. An example of such a website would be www.fxstreet.com where I want to look at the graphs of real time exchage rate movement. When directed to the Sun Microsystem's website for Java Update, it would simply says that they do not have a version that support my operating system platform. This problem is similar to not being able to directly play youtube movies on the website because their version of flash player is always newer than what is available on WM5 environment.

Because it`s actually a beta (not a trial - sorry, I ought to have used the right word). Java is an external application and I assume either they have to pay a licence fee for it or they know that it already works (hence doesn`t need to be in the beta).
it has been the same for each beta. There should be a trial of 3.3 which does include java.

To be honest i get most sites down but i did a search for java based sites and found sites that would not work like (www.webcamnow.com) just to really test the system. Perhaps none of the current browsers will load such sites, am i asking too much from a small operating system.

So this web site is is crowing about new versions of windows live apps, with more (or reinstated) features like photo upload and live messenger... but all the download links lead in a circle (when they don't get caught by the popup blocker).
Does anyone have an actual download of these apps?
http://www.windowsliveformobile.com/en-us/home/default.aspx
If you're referring to what I think you are referring to, I don't they are out yet
No wonder the web site looks like it's half finished. Whoever set it to live should be fired.
And dude. Hi, neighbor.
i think it will show up here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/mobile/wl/download-en-us.mspx
right now they have 10.6.0042.800
but i remember reading somewhete that they will be releasing a new version on thursday, thats tomrrow, so i'm waiting to see what they have instore for the new version. plus the funny thing is in build 6.5 21198 they 10.6.0052.900 so it might be that build they're talking about. the 0052.900 build is not much different from the other builds but i do like the slide left/right functionality though.

Version is v10.06.0046.0800

Anybody want to confirm messenger will indeed install (on Verizon). If not I will keep what I have.
edit: yeah it works sweet! Now if only I can find what changed/fixed from the version I used to have...
Installed on my VZW XV6900.
Will there ever be
A version that actually works and does not come up with the network connection issue ?
seems to work well....actually fixed an issue I had with the stock Touch Pro ROM (the new one) where Messenger didn't work on my phone (it would close immediately after opening).
installed and so far it is working great. no problems at (soft reset after instll). it seems scrolling large emails filled with images have been improved but really not sure about that, maybe its just the speed of the 21198 build. but all in all its great. i wish they had the dinamic backgrounds like they have on the desktop.

Wait, where is this latest version? I searched for that version number, but nothing is coming up.
Has anyone figured out how to get the photo upload to work? Uploading photos to your live space is advertised as a feature, but I don't see any kind of interface for it.

You can download it from the marketplace, or you can visit these posts for a .cab.
Below is a link to the marketplace where you can get it.

If you're serious about running business-quality software on your PDA, try Softmaker Office instead. It's what mobile documents should be. Even the MS desktop version has very, very little over the mobile version of Softmaker. And the desktop version of Softmaker is every bit as good as MS Office in all respects. And for about $80 you get a license for both the desktop and PPC versions.
Thanks to All. I could have checked Marketplace before asking. Sorry about that.
I couldn't imagine the Beta would be available there for download.
Thank to all of you guys.

Are you in the States?
I have the same problem - it isn't listed in Marketplace, but I am in Canada. I am running an old HTC S620 with a 3VO 6.5 cooked ROM (which runs great and indentifies itself as a 6.5 device)
I have heard that it is only available in the States currently. I am now running the Office 2010 Beta on my desktop (and love it - was using 2003 PRO)
