This maybe a dumb question but how do you make a phone call from the contacts list ? I go to the contact I want to call, and when I tap call home or call mobile nothing happens. If I tap send txt or email, that works fine. the only way I can make a call is to either manually type the number in, or if I go to my contact, then tap menu, and tap video call then it will make the phone call.
Thanks in advance for any feedback
I had this on one of the ROMs I was trying. Sorry I can't remember which one it was. Now on Dutty's W6.5 R14 and it works fine.
Cheers

thanks for the feedback . I noticed there's a 6.5R14 turbo and a 6.5R14(MSVC) I know the MSVC has voice command, what's in the turbo version ?

Supposedly faster than previous roms, so Throy called it Turbo. Rom doesn't have MSVC and a few other apps on previous versions aren't installed
It's the R14 Turbo one (non-MSVC) that I'm currently using. Calls from contacts list works fine!

This function should work from most if not all roms, so I wouldn't jump in head first and flash a rom. First ask in rom thread for a solution, and then if you want to flash a rom, choose one which best suits you. Throys R14 rom is a very old rom now and there is much improved bersions available
I am using the WM dialer, and have the same problem. which contacts list? via the contacts tab on touchflo, or start menu>contacts?
The workaround is to use the latter...

R14 only came out on September 19th, so it's not that old. Unless you mean the original ROM it's based on?? I've tried lots of different ROMs and it's not really lacking in anything that's in other stuff. Works for me anyway, like the Leo ones too, but didn't find them as stable.
Like you say though, best to find whatever suits you best.

Sorry if i ask on this post but i made a lot of search to get this when i travel i have problem when call someone i have to edit country codes of all my contacts, so it must be something done for calling out of country without editing every time the country codes.
So is anyone knows how to make that

all of my OLD motorola phones seem to function as a phone/dial up modem better, and my more advanced 8125 smartphone is limited.
I have a virtual phone number for my business, and for the old moto's when someone called that number the CID would display "CALL FORWARD 407-123-4567" (it would show the number of the person calling) and when someone called my AT&T Mobile number it just displays the number. My Cingular 8125 does not do this and tech support will not help me with this issue. I can put my sim card into those older phones (and do nothing further) and visually see that someone called my other phone number and not the main (while displaying their number too).
I need to see the difference between incoming phone calls to my regular number and incoming phone calls to my virtual number (which is forwarded to my cell phone). I am so angry that by upgrading I downgrade other useful/simple functions that I have been using for years. (the other is getting my 8125 to dial my local ISP for my MacBook Pro, instead of the *99# deal listed everywhere... I can make my OLD MOTOs to dial an ISP of my choice to connect my Mac 2 the net)
These forums have helped my way more than AT&T ever has or will! Thanks a bunch guys!!!
HELP!! I to know what number people are calling me at.
I've called tech support several times on this issue and still have not found a solution other than it being my hardware. My goal is just to see a difference when a person calls my virtual phone number(forwarded to my cell) or my actual cell phone number. I can use older hardware and get this to work!
Thanks again.. this is a tuff one!

Can you try this file?
Hi,
Please try this.
Just put it into any dir and run it. It will run at the background and you should get an icon which shows the call is being forwarded from other number.
After you MAKE SURE it works fine on your phone(no crash or other problem...), you may add a link to \windows\startup to make it auto run at startup.
I build the application for my T7272 and it works fine. But I did not test for other platform. Feel free to report bugs.
Good luck.

But in my D2 does not work, there is no way?
Yes, my diamond 2 cannot work with such file yet my Touch Pro can work with.
Could Kingzao help? Many Thanks for such big Good innovation!
Hi,
I do not have a D2 so I cannot test it. However I will try to check the code.
I'd like to share the source code if anybody can help build & test for D2 or other platform.
I am using MS VSS2008 with WM6.1 SDK.
Cheers,

我也怀疑是wm6.5的问题,但是我刷了一个wm6.1的ROM,还是不能用!

Hi Kingzao
Any chance to make it work with WM6.5.....
Thanks for a nice program .....
In my HD2 does not work too.
Hi all,
Sorry I am too busy recently.
Maybe another day I will sort the code and share to who is interseted in.
The code is based on RIL so there may have some problem with different H/W or Radio version.
Anyway, I will try to burn a WM6.5 on T7272 to test whether it is WM6.5 problem or H/W version, if I have spare time.
Cheers,
Kingzao

Hello again Kingzao,
Any updates on WM6.5?
Omareo
Thanks to Kingzao for his great work.
I can try compliling it and do tests on WM6.5 platform, Touch stone.
I have sent you a message.
After flashed Dutty Miri or restored only contacts the service MyPhone pimbackup. Send or receive a phone call from people fav the phone goes crazy: I can not open dialer, the phone does not react to incoming calls and exit from standby is slow. sometimes by pressing a hbutton from standby only LEDs are activated and I have to hold endkey for 2 seconds to reactivate the HD2.
To restore the phone function must Softreset.
One way to reproduce it is to make a call from a fav people number and answer on hd2, hang up and quickly and hang up on HD2 too.
Please someone can do tests to find out what is wrong?
I hope I made myself understood, despite my English
New build have issue with Sandisk 8gb ! now with a kingstone all work, and the sandisk works in my hd.
Format dont solve,hw issue!
My phone work fine in 2 roms but I like dutty rom.
yesterday i flashed the miri 1.2
i will let you know after some use
Not being rude, but you will get a better chance and better answer from posting in Miri's or Dutty's Thread. This is after all where you downloaded it from, and more users of that ROM will follow that thread.
There are some times probs when restoring backed-up data with some 3rd party programs, that's why I strongly advice you to back up everything you need/want with activesync and outlook plug-ins. In this case you will never have probs again no matter what rom you are using!!!
Hope that helped you
cheers

restore contacts via outlook activesync!try syncing you contacts with outlook and make a hard reset and then activesync and restore contacts via outlook.
Can you keep discussions about particular roms in that roms thread please?
it's like someone coming to your house for dinner, then them suddenly running out into the street shouting to the neighbours that you left a bone in the fish or something..
It's a bit rude behaviour..

I think it is not ROM related but manila related. Im going to sync via ActiveSync and let you know...
cprog.exe bug?
ok, the problem is related to cprog(is it the phone application?)
just plaing with call(like make a call, hang up quikly and press the green send button on screen) make impossible to open dialer since softreset.
also Xannytech 1.1
I tried XannyTech 1.1 and same issue, just typing number randomly on dialpad and it freeze, other app works, but the dialer stop working and phone don't react at incoming calls.
Is it possible that is a bad flash of hspl?
RUU_Leo_HTC_ITA_1.48.408.1 works like a charm!

I can see, that you changed the topic title to SOLVED.
Can you share (or anyone else) with us the method, (hope it is not a secret!) cos I am facing the same problem.
I haveve sent you already a PM.
I do not want to start a new thread with the same question.
Thank you
Before people tell me to search the forums, that's what I've been doing for the longest time, trying every ROM on the Vogue forum. And before you tell me to try Android, I've done that too, and while I like it, I prefer Windows Mobile on this particular phone at the moment, but may put Android on it again sometime in the future.
The closest that I've found is NagROM V0.19 Touch, which is just a touch too basic. I'm looking for something like that, but with M2D and M2D Customiser, the HTC Cabs and Ringtones, the EZInput keyboard like in NFSFan's ROM, and Office 2007 or 2010. While I like the ROMs that come with other programs cooked in, such as Total Commander and PHM Registry Edit, I prefer the ROM coming without them so that when I go to install an updated version, I don't run into a problem. Too many times I've had problems installing a newer version of a program when it comes up telling me it has to uninstall the previous version, but can't, sometimes leaving me with just the old version, or both versions.
And before anyone says to cook my own, I've looked into guides, tried cooking my own, and the past few times I've tried, it wouldn't even boot up for the first time after flashing. I've tried numerous kitchens, some of which are supposed to be basic ones, perfect for beginners, but end up with one of a few problems: Not compatible with 64-bit windows, virus scanner blocks a crucial part, not meant for the Vogue, etc.
Basically what I'm asking is: Are there any basic ROMs with nothing more than M2D (and HTC cabs and Ringtones, and M2DC), EZInput, and Office Mobile 2007/2010 cooked in, or can someone HELP me with trying to cook my own (so that I can have it preconfigured for Verizon, MMS working and GPS set up)?

Haha, wow. I never expected someone to actually make it fer me! I'll have to try it out tomorrow as it's late now. Also, what kitchen do you use, Barogi? I still do plan on learning. (I'm a mix of hands on learning and being shown/flat out told what to do for the first time or three lol). Also, I assume it is set up as a Generic ROM (without the provisioning cab, MMS cab and settingsh, and Registry settings for GPS)? Also, as time goes more things come to mind to be cooked in (hence wanting to learn how to cook a ROM personally, and slowly becoming less basic ) lol. Still, thanks, majorly. I'll let you know how it works out when I try it tomorrow =3
Oh, and what version of EZInput is cooked in? I know I said "like the one in NFSFan's ROM," but that's only because I was unsure of the version (which I know now is 1.5.)

I use ppckitchen.org Buildos 2.0.0 And yes it is generic meaning you will need a carrier cab, Once you do install your carrier cab everything should work such as mms and gps. As for Ezinput i actually use a newer version than Nfsfans its (pcarvalho_ezInput_2.1_QVGA). If you want some help with cooking your own rom, just install ppckitchen buildos 2.0.0 since thats the only one ive ever used and know how to use and then send me a message on whatever you need some help with! Also if you want something changed in the rom i have already made for you before you get a chance to build your own, just let me know and ill do it.
EDIT: Had posted the wrong link to ppckitchen its supposed to be ppckitchen.org not .com
Hope you like it.

PPCKitchen BuildOS 2.0.0 is what I was using as well. I've used enough generic ROMs to know how to get it all working, so that's simple to do. Was just curious about that. I've gotten one ROM working through there, but somehow ended up with the Windows Mobile 6.1 splash screen (even though I changed it lol.) I'll try out your ROM, and I"ll keep playing with BuildOS. Hopefully I can get the file size down, and figure out how to cook in my own things, not just what's listed on the build menu lol. I'm kind of a hands on learner, kind of need to be shown multiple times, so playing around with it (though will take MUCH longer) SHOULD help me figure it out, but I'll keep in mind to PM you if I have any questions.

Ok great!
Alright, I'm trying out the ROM, and so far it looks great. Just one slight thing... I see you put in PHM RegEdit (an add on program I said I prefer installing myself so that when I go to update it I don't run into problems lol) Other than that, so far it looks perfect. Now if I could figure out how to cook a ROM where it isn't bigger than the stock, with just a few add in things as I think of them that I use regularly (and cook it as a Verizon specific ROM) then yay. Time to start playing with BuildOS while setting up my phone again lol

Ahh sorry about that Its just one of those programs that i figured you might want but perhaps had forgotten to ask for
Also i realized that after i had uploaded the rom that i forgot to add the reg edit to fix the 2016 date error on sms messages... Not sure if that affects you on Verizon, because i do not get it on Bell.
If you want... I can give you a list of the necessary things you should put in your own roms to make it function to its fullest.. like all the necessary bluetooth items and such?

It's alright, I think PHM is one of the ones that can be updated even if it's cooked in without any problems. And yes, the 2016 problem will affect me on Verizon. I had it happen to me on NagROM before, but already had the fix downloaded (someone made it into a cab) so I installed it to be on the safe side. As for the list of things to make it function to the fullest, please do. And if there is another way to contact you other than on here, can you tell me in PM? I'd like to contact you off of here for help with cooking a ROM. I've tried again, and it wouldn't even finish building this time. Out of about 8 times of cooking a ROM, it succeeded only once, but I forgot to compress it (this was before you made this ROM for me).
Also, slight problem, and quick question.
The problem is on M2D. The music tab. It says that it can't play the audio file and opens Windows Media Player. I haven't found anything on this yet and had it happen to me on a few ROMs. If it can't be fixed, that's fine, i can just take off the music tab (because I don't always slide along the bottom, I'll use the D-pad at times, and if other people play with my phone)
The question... Where can I find the default background for M2D? I changed the background using M2DC so it'll be on all the tabs, but you can't see the white text, so I wanna change it back until I find a different background.

Ill send you a pm with my cell number. Also I have always gotten that message when trying to use music tab. I dont think a fix has ever been mentioned... I know that it usually defaults to using audio manager and not the windows media player, perhaps that could be the problem?
The background... I think that you have to back up the default in M2DC before changing it in order to get it back, so that you can reload it. Just so you know, I don't use Manila at all on my phone, so im not quite sure how to fix many things on it. And remember that most issues are do to the fact that Manila is not made for our phones and has been ported over. But I will try my best to help you out.

Yeah NFSFAN always cooked Audiomanager into his roms... you could put it in your own as well and it probably would stop the error.

It does work when I say navigate or call contacts name,,, but that seems to be the only part that works correctly.
I have installed all updates from market and voice commands works very well for me as long as the rom does not have sense. My wife loves the Sense interface so I am trying to get it working for her
Appreciate any ideas or suggestions, thanks
Hi all, sorry if its been asked B4 but i cant seem to find a definite answer or solution. Thing is I cant find an option for my HD2 to play a sound when i send a txt message (just peace of mind that its been sent realy) All notifications are switched on and i get a sound when i recieve messages but nothing to confirm 'message sent'. Tried going to settings/all settings/sounds & notifications where there is the option for mms sent play sound (which i activated) the option for message doesnt offer anything for message sent tho.
Anyone have any ideas...i am using a uk stock rom that hasnt been flashed
cheers
The only solution is to upgrade to the latest ROM 3.14 which from memory does have support for message sent on sms.

thanx for that. Thought that may be the case. Was hoping there would be a way round this without flashing roms...pretty much new to this device and currently has the dreaded .51 radio, which i have heard/read can be the death of these phones if attempting to flash, so im kinda put off messing with new roms etc..
cheers
Hey mate did some more searching on this and found the solution for those on WWE1.66 rom. I upgraded the HTC messaging client and all is good now.
Goto this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6540684&postcount=30
and do exactly as he says. The link to that HTC messaging client is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=676159&page=13
and use a reg editor to modify to 0 the below path:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\Messaging]
You can then go into menu/all settings/sounds and notifications/notifications tab
scroll down to event message:send succeeded and select play sound ticked and if you want display message on screen
Enjoy

Mate thanx so much for your input, I will give the above a blast later when im home from work.
one more question tho, can i dwnload a registry edit tool or is it already on the hd2 from stock, if no then is there any free or cheapo alternatives out there
thanx again
Hey no worries dude this is a great community. I use taskmanager as my reg-editor. Do a search for it It should be free..
From memory there are 3 htc sms clients. That one linked which works for me but lacks the new folder(secure box) for saving sms, one that has that secure box function inbuilt but is older version and has chinese character problem and then a totally newer client which was recently released. To be honest the version in the link above does the job for me and now plays a sound and shows a notification.
It's great you dont have to do a whole flash ROM upgrade and that you can upgrade individual programmes in this phone. Makes it a really amazing phone.

Ye i agree, at first it seemed a little intimidating thinking i had to flash roms etc to actually install 'cabs' and such to the device...But am learning as i go that this is not the case. Will continue to read, read ,read through the exellent threads on XDA and over time unlock the true potential of the device.
Thanx man, this is indeed a superb community Lookin forward to promoting myself from noob to ...err.. semi noob
