Application question - myTouch 3G, Magic General

I have been trying out all the different ROMs out there. Some of them have apps that others don't. How can I get those? Like quick office and the pdf viewer specifically.

Wise ones please help: Are Manilla's tabs located as individual files within device?

Hi there,
Hopefully one of you guys can help me, I'm needing to know whether Manilla's tabs i.e, the ones on the main interface -today, messaging, contacts, etc- are actually files located somewhere within the device.
like an exe/or similar file that would move to that tab when clicked. Not actually open it, but just move to the that tab within the Manilla interface.
It's an idea I have for getting round the landscape problem that bothers us HD2 owners.
Many thanks
I'm certainly no manila guru, so can't really give much advice, but from what I do know I can tell you that manila is a single app and it runs as a today plugin. The graphics that make up the manila theme are spread around in the windows folder (and there's LOTS of them), as well as config files (xml file format), but that's where my knowledge stops.
It's basically 1 big application, not seperate ones.
Have a trawl through the rom development and the themes and apps sections, there are a few good reads on the manila files.
Also, try the advanced google search instead of the site search, it turns up some good stuff, sometimes for different phones, but the info is valid.
Try this
tut edit manila +hd2 +leo
the google page which is worth bookmarking is

Info on BN reader and eReader please

Can anyone give me some info on the BN reader app?
In particular, will it open eReader .pdb files? BN owns eReader.com now so I've been expecting this, but there doesn't seem to be any overlap between their hardware readers capabilities (that I've seen stated).
Also, will eReader's app for WM work properly on the HD2? There is no scroll switch like on prior WM systems, so how is scrolling done?
Thanks,
Marc
Never mind, found this thread that answers most of my questions! http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com...obile-version-anytime-soon/m-p/380645#U380645

[Q] Want to make a custom pdf viewer with menu

Hi,
Im just starting out devving and for work I would like to build a custom branded pdf viewer that opens pdfs inside program.
What i want to do in detail:
main page - branded to my company (i can do the graphics easily enough)
this page has two options - SOPs and SWPs (these are categories of documents)
SOPs page - list of pdfs in this category
SWPs page - list of pdfs in this category
I know I could just use adilko or other ereader app but i want to make my own.
Any help with the actual code to launch the pdfs within the app so i can go easily back to previous app pages would be greatly appreciated!
please guys i need help, its doing me in!
"Launching pdfs within the app" will not work as easily as you think. Unless you can find a PDF library or engine (however it's called for PDF) you will have to follow the PDF specifications and implement the rendering yourself. Good luck!

I was thinking of reskinning vudroid for my non-commercial purposes - but after downloading all 1422 files on their code repository, eclipse wouldnt accept it
I've found a dirty way by converting each 20+ page pdf into jpgs and calling them as a scrollable screen. but i wanna zoom and **** lol. would look so much more polished (as far as my clients see) that i have everything within a certain style.
but alas, as Ned Kelly said:

Large Documents

I've searched around and not really found what I was looking for. I have used Polaris, Documents to Go, and Quickoffice for an 88mb Word file I need to open and have trouble. The file is full of pictures ect... and when I open it some take longer than others, but the pictures look like crap and the formatting is jacked up. I know Tablets are not the best for documents, but I am not even trying to edit, just view the thing. I figured 88mb would be in the scope of the memory capabilities, but wondered if anyone else had this problem. I have had problems with large powerpoint files in the past not opening at all.
The main reason it annoys me is not because I need to go my Windows laptop to view them, but that my friend's Ipad2 opens them just fine. Come on Android! Anybody have any advice? And I apologize in advance if there is a thread addressing this same issue, I just couldn't find it. Thanks.
Did you try docs to go? I always seem to have good luck with that program.

Edit Samsung apps within Evernote

Hi,
One of the most useful things I was hoping for with my Note3 was the ability to write, doodle and brainstorm on the phone when I am lonely in the pub. Evernote let's me share notebooks and can be so useful. However I, or clients, can't edit these notes within Evernote (computer or by phone) instead they are saved as JPEGs, or even PDFs which I can't edit.
I'm a graphic designer and web developer and have always had a real note book (paper) with me for such occasions and the Note has always appealed massively for being able to digitize and share my notes stuff on the fly.
I don't really care if it's S Note, or another app (I like Notes Mobile too) and would even be prepared to leave Evernote it gave me the sync and share options that I need.
My question is this: Has anybody found a workaround, or combo of apps that means their notes can be shared and edited (text anyway) by others on desktop and/or mobile?
OK, I thought SNote save as PDF and share with Evernote might work but it doesn't. A couple of apps will save as PSD which is kind of good but I haven't tried that out yet.

Have not worked with Evernote much but have found some programs (the best being simplenote) which claim they can import an Evernote file and use embedded OCR to convert the file to text based:

Hope this helps!
