problem viewing java and flash based websites like youtube and camgirlslive - Touch HD General

i searched the web but i could not find a way to make thetouch hd opera to work...i can not view camgirlslive and youtube and all the other websites like that....the only way is to use skyfire browser....does anyone know anyway to use opera or mini to work properly...

The opera browser is working it is just that that there is not a windows mobile flash plug-in capable of viewing that content at the moment.
However, adobe has said they will be bringing a full flash capable soon to the platform (click here).
Skyfire at the moment is the only one that will have reasonable flash support. For java based website's try Opera Mini at mini.opera.com.

Can't play any flash videos

Hi,
I've just installed the latest WM6 rom on my 8525 and also installed Flash player 7 along with the java addons. I've tried viewing videos from youtube and mtv from both internet explorer and opera mini 4 beta 3 but any video i click it always says flash player not installed and click here to go to adobe etc.... Can someone help me configure it so I can play flash videos? thanks
cmon, somebody has to have an answer for this. I can't load any videos on standard pages for myspace, mtv, youtube, etc. it says javascript is either turned off or you dont have the right player. I downloaded flashplayer 7. Running mini opera 4 beta 3 and pocket IE as well as picsel browser.
Mobile browsers not designed for video
Neither of the browsers you are trying are capable of displaying flash based videos. The Opera Mini will probably never support them because it is a Java based browser for use on most any phone. There is a Windows Mobile Opera that is in beta, last I heard, that claims to support flash based videos, however the only thing I could get it to do was crash my 8525, forcing me to soft reset, at which time I then uninstalled it completely. As you will see in the instructions at one of the links below, there is one more file you can download that will play the videos, which seems to be accomplished through the link from internet explorer triggering the thirdparty app to open and strat trying to play the video.
You could try the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326225, however I have not tried them and can not confirm for you if they work.
The way I currently play these type files is using a program called AvotMV. AvotMV has a internet browser type feel to it, and when you play the videos it will automatically play them "full" screen (in portrait mode). If you want to try AvotMV, you can download it for free from the developers here here http://www.avotmedia.com/
the tcpmp and flashbundle works beautifuly. especially on a highspd connection. the newest version givesthe choice dowloading or streaming it. You will have to unistall flash7 as it will clash with flashbundle plugin. I posted awhile back if some could figure out how to get them to work together or at least independently on different browsers because the tmpcp flash plugin will only play videos not other flash content.
That explains it...
I have the official flash 2.1 from adobe for WM5/6 which allows me to use one of the spinning cube flash controllers. Would be nice if someone could figure it out because this does not look like it will work for me until a fix is made.

BBC iPlayer?

Hi,
I have searched the internet and as far as I'm aware, there isn't a Windows Mobile app that plays the BBC iPlayer.
I have notice that the new Nokia N96 has this functionality.
Is their already a windows mobile application for the iPlayer?
If not would it be feasible to have an application similar to the youTube one?
Thanks

same here i want the iplayer on my diamond and if any one out there could help please do
I have found this post from a couple of months ago:

Though it didn't seem to come to any conclusion...
iplayer
this would be so cool on the diamond....
help anyone?????
Iplayer Not Possible On Any Phone..
BBC IPLAYER ACCESS ON DIAMOND/ANY PHONE NOT POSSIBLE...
THE ONLY MOBILE BROWSER CAPABLE OF DISPLAYING THE LATEST FLASH ETC IS SKYFIRE,BUT SKYFIRE USES AN AMERICAN PROXY SERVER WHICH CAUSES "MUST BE IN UK TO WATCH " ERROR
THEREFORE BBCIPLAYER IS NOT POSSIBLE AND WONT BE UNTIL SKYFIRE CREATE A UK PROXY SERVER (NOT FOR A LONG LONG LONG TIME)
I have had a go at this (unsuccessfully). I even tried spoofing opera's user-agent to an iphones user-agent but although I got the iphone version of the iplayer website, the streams would not play. (there was some text visible about requiring a plug-in)
The BBC rather too accurately detect the flash version. I've just a similar problem with my Ubuntu 8.10 install until I rolled flash back to version 9.

iPlayer to synchronise shows on PCs and phones
The BBC's iPlayer service will synchronise downloaded TV shows across all your PCs and mobiles, as part of a forthcoming integration with Windows Live Mesh, writes Barry Collins in Los Angeles.
a valid point merrica
although, this mobile integration of live mesh and bbc iplayer
http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/233295/iplayer-to-synchronise-shows-on-pcs-and-phones.html# is good ,its still not what we need as it is limitied to what you have on your home pc,its exactly the same as using orb or any other mobile-streaming app....the point is real-time bbciplayer access wont be possible for a while
(i mean going to bbc iplayer and randomly choosing a show.i.e. tonights eastenders..this wont be possible until skyfire has a uk proxy option)
You do know that you can
download programme content from the iplayer website an then upload it to your phone and watch through WM player. It does need to download the DRM to your phone.

I think the majority of people here would like to stream directly from their devices.

I tried doing this for the first time yesterday, but when I put the file onto my diamond it would'nt play the file due to DRM. you put that it needs to download the DRM to your phone.... so how does it do that?
It'd be nice to be able to stream it straight to the phone, but i'd be happy to download the shows that I want for now, but don't know where to start with DRM??
open in wm player and should auto download opening both ie and opera for some reason. both pages will be blank. please note this takes ages sometimes
I have managed to get the N96 / Samsung I900 streams to work fine on my X1.

Can you test with your Diamonds?
it seems to work but the iplayer service keeps going down,so i will try again later and hopefully get to see a stream.
I've heard that iPlayer seems to work fine on the latest beta of Skyfire, which also plays youtube flawlessly. Here is the review of skyfire (http://gadgetmix.com/index/?p=1476)
Iplayer on wm6 with ease
Skyfire Beta is now available to anyone in the uk. I downloaded it the other day and can now view any website including Youtube, BBC iPlayer, Joox, gamesloth and so on. It runs the webpage from thier systems and you view it on your handset. give it a blast. its free.
ive been using skyfire for a while,i would just like to see other browsers having this capability,
Maybe in opera it might sit the picture on the screen a bit better without having to rotate the screen and stuff.
Is anyone getting sound from the bbc iPlayer on Skyfire?

I got sound on my X1 when using SkyFire. There is an option in SkyFire to disable/enable audio, also double check the iPlayer has the volume set.

is there any skyfire version for HD?

yesterday i downloaded a skyfire version for my brother's n95.the only thing i have to say is tha is by far the best browser i have seen.i tried opening pages that i couldn't open before with the old browser because of the missing plugin and it worked.
here is the prog's description.
"Skyfire is a free, downloadable mobile browser that gives you a web browsing experience exactly like PC browsing. For the first time ever, on your phone, you can watch any video, connect with friends, listen to music, shop, and browse the web using the full-featured PC versions of your favorite websites. With Skyfire, mobile browsing just works - speedy page loads, full video, images and audio.
The search feature is awesome.

It used to be possible to play them in Internet Explorer, but I've a feeling the BBC may have changed the format recently. I don't think they'll play in Opera Mobile 10, either, even though that does have some flash support. Your best bet is probably to use Skyfire.
They work in IE just fine for me, even the watch live streams for bbc2 ,3 etc work the only videos that dont work for me on the BBC site are the Live bbc 1 stream and iPlayer which show green and garbled stuff
Opera has never worked on the bbc videos for me at least, always moans about no javascript enabled or wrong version of flash
just tried to use IE and when I click a video IE crashes and closes. very anoying.....
Try, http://get.skyfire.com/.
thanks, i have used skyfire and it works ok but seems v slow compared to opera. I was trying to see if its possible just to have one browser that does everything! I guess not. It's very annoying and the only thing that really niggles me about the HD2. You'd think browsing would be the thing they'd really want to sort but no..... we still have to use 2 or 3 browsers depending on what we want to do. A bit of a joke really......
I hope some clever bod here can somehow get flash 10 to work on the HD2 seeing as it now seems that Adobe aren't!! I wonder if I could sue adobe? You spend £300+ on a handset as they say the HD2 will be the first WM device to support flash10 then a few weeks after I splash out they announce that they are no longer doing so!!! ggggrrrrrr

[SOLVED] Unable to watch videos or download files with Opera browser

Hi, got a problem with browser Opera: while trying to watch a video on youtube fro exemple, it doesn't start, it says " not supported: the used protocol in vnd.youtube ******* vndapp=youtube_mobile&vndclient=mv-google&vndel=watch&vnddnc=1 is not supported.
More than that got also problem while trying to download files from web pages: th download doesn't start, saying "transfert not possible"
does someone knows what's the problem?
For info I allready got flash player 11 installed and enabled flash on opera's settings
just use dolphin hd browser - much better in my opinion
I'll give it a try. btw I tried ninesky also and video works. for the downloads the only problem was sdcard space.
But why opera doesn't work for videos?
Hmm,
I might be wrong, but as far as I know, opera uses its own servers (like a proxy) to reduce the traffic used. They pack the pages in a special way, and on your device, opera browser unpack it. This kinda tricky solution has a side-effect, that video-steam after being packed at server can't be decoded at your device (I suscect the same concerns downloads, as they are saved as is).
BTW there is no reason to use opera, as your kindle fire supports only wifi so no expensive mobile traffic
because opera seems faster than other breowsers to me. btw I've fixed the problem by setting desktop mode on opera's settings.
