keyboard backlight questions (HTC SNAP) - Dash 3G, Snap General

Is there anyway to get the keyboard to remain at its brightest when i type. sometimes its really bright and other times the light is on but it's dim.
thanks

I believe in the power options you can disable the snap using the light sensor to adjust keyboard brightness and if you do that, it should be full brightness when in use.

i have tha checked off and it still have the same problem.
Thanks

I have this same problem with my Sprint HTC Snap, even with the keyboard sensor is disabled. If screen goes off and I hit a button to bring it on, the keyboard is a dimmer that the screen, if the screen just goes into Dim mode and I hit a button the keyboard comes to full brightness like it should.

Backlight on keyboard

Is the keyboard on the universal supposed to have a backlight? my mda pro doesnt and i cant seem to find any settings for it either? bit of a design flaw if it doesnt
When you bring your device into a dark (enough) area, the backlight will lit up automatically.
To test it, you can cover the small dot which is upper of green button (near hinge) and press any key.

Or if u click on start\settings\personal\buttons and then click on the backlight tab take the tick out of enable keyboard backlight auto sensor then the back light will come on whenever a key is pressed.
Use's a little more battery i suppose but nothing noticable and is also good for testing

Change keyboard backlight brightness?

Is it possible to one day change the keyboard backlight brightness? Under normal lighting conditions the backlight on the bronze G1 washes out the letters making it extremely difficult to see the keys.
The backlights under the keyboard and the chin buttons seem to be very dim and I would guess that there is a way to adjust the brightness as can be done with the display backlight.
Hopefully someone can look into seeing if it's possible or an official patch is released to raise the brightness. A different color would have been better, too bad the whole "put blue LEDs in every damn consumer product" trend is over, I think blue LEDs would be much more visible.
i haven't had any problems with the brightness, but what really bothers me is that the backlight turns off so damn fast. On my old Dash, the keyboard light was controlled directly by the screen's backlight. If the screen was lit up, so was the keyboard.
I'm getting really tired of hitting the menu button to turn the lights back on without messing anything up.

Click to collapse
It annoys me too, but tip: nudge the trackball a tiny bit, not enough to move the cursor. You'll get used to it until there is some type of fix.

Keyboard backlight problem

Hi!
When I slide the keyboard out and start typing, keyboard backlight sometimes doesn't switch on. Its annoying when I use the keyboard in the night.
Anyone has the same problem / or know how to solve this? Thanks.
I have same problem!
just turn off automatic backlight in settings..
Weird
Sometimes for me it doesn't come on immediately, but after the first key press it always comes on.
How annoying.
Although, are you typing in half light? I tend to be typing in bright light or pitch black, never half light that would mean it'd affect the backlight but i couldn't see the thing unlit.

Keyboard Backlight Problem

Hello
I have a problem with my 8525 hardware keyboard.
I have the backlight auto sensor enabled and the light doesnt turn on when i slide my phone open.
But... when its on the charger it works
Whats the problem??
Im using joshes m2d light 3g rom
Thanks in advance!
Does it turn on after you start typing or does it stay dark?

Backlight issue
I've discovered from just using my 8525 that the backlight to the keyboard goes on when I first press a key on the keyboard but only if the light in the room is very low. Sometimes it seems like the light level in the room is low enough but the backlight still doesn't go on. Too bad there isn't a low-light level adjustment for the backlight feature.
Just so folk know - it is possible to set it up so when you open the keyboard it lights up regardless of the light level and key presses. Right now I can't remember how!! but I set mine up that way ages ago. Does use more battery power however so it is not necessarily a good thing - but looks pretty.

[Q] physical keyboard issues

does anyone else get an issue that the G2's backlight for the physical keyboard and capacative buttons have absolutly no idea when to be on and when to be off. I can be in a fully lit room and have the backlight on for no reason at all. is there any way to fix this? it gets very annoying very quickly.
It's a problem with the light sensor, but I think it can be corrected with software. The sensor seems to reflect differences in brightness really well, but the software tends to set everything to levels appropriate for brighter conditions. This leads to full screen brightness and no key backlighting even under dim interior lighting conditions.
my screen is SUPER Bright regardless of ambient light (in automode) I rely on the manual settings.
and yes I do have the same problem ... even on my second g2.
Same here. My backlight and softkeys go on and off randomly while in bright light and checking the time while waking up briefly during the night is painful because it is always extra bright.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
thanks swags. hoping for a software update soon. its really annoying. also is it normal that i get this issue even without auto brightness
