The link you provided is a link to acces via web browser to windows live services included the messenger. There's no more version to run on our ppc this means you have to eat their mass publicity and no recieve messages when you're on your way.

Who wants the real MSN Messenger for WM5/TyTN

After flicking around on google, i have found a personally tested method of getting msn messenger working in WM5.
It fully supports the rotation that occurs when you open the keyboard on the TyTN.
http://node13.org/pda/
Go here (my own site), and do the following:
1. Connect your WM5 device to your pc.
2. Run msn22.exe (Will installed the PPC2002 version of MSN Messenger)
3. Run msn23.exe (Will instal the PPC2003SE version with the latest updates)
4. Reset your device
Voila, you now have a nice working copy of MSN Messenger.
Enjoy!
Just out of curiosity:
What's the difference between "MSN Messenger on Pocket PC" and "Pocket Messenger"?
Thanks for that!

For some reasons, every time I tried to run your msn23 from my computer (connected to the device of course), it showed the InstallShield 1645: and it stopped there. I have also tried msn22 and the result is the same. BTW, I have done the unlock CID already if it would matter at all.
Any suggestions?

Yes, I don't know why Microsoft have it so obscurely referenced, not easy to track it down. By the way also works well for me too.

Are you guys referring to the Live.Com Beta for Mobile download? Or am I missing the point totally?

Well now that's a tricky question... welllll ok yes we are, at least I am. The one that's like the old MSN for mobile but not quite if you know what I mean!! And the one that shows as Live.com on this link http://ideas.live.com/, In case there's confusion "MSN Messenger is now Windows Live Messenger" hence the use of the name Live.com.
Mike
you try this agilemessenger
in my tytn it works very well:
- he automatically rotates with the opening of the keyboard
- it notices all the emoticons
- it works with msn, icq, yaooh etc. accounts
- allows to make a photo with my TYTN and to send it
- and it also has the push to talk!!!
It's phenomenalanything
...else other than microsoft!!!
Enjoy

Well now 5n0rk, I think I might just do that. Heard of it before but never thought it would inspire me, but from what you say it might be interesting
Mike
him, agile messenger is fabulous! to try for believing!
Is Agile Messenger really free? On their web site they only have 7 day trial versions after which you pay and through the nose...

Try not to get too hooked unless you want to be spending up big.

Free on WM5 "for the moment"
As it is slightly buggey or at least was, seems much more stable these days.

I only browse these forums once in a while, but an update to this that might work out for you guys.
My wife recently got a (Cingular, oops I mean AT&T) Samsung Blackjack and it came with a link to install an instant messaging software package from OZ. I 'tested' the cab file out on my 8125 and it works in portrait mode, but you lose the text entry screen in landscape. It also does not accept touch screen input, as it was designed for a smartphone. The one caviat is that you have to keep and maintain a strong signal to use it effectively.
So if you know someone who has a blackjack, or maybe even another smartphone from cingular...err AT&T you might be able to access the cab from their phone and test it out on yours.

Chat logging Windows Live Messenger?

Just wondering if this is possible on WM6, and how would I go about doing it? I'm open to third-party IM clients.
Thanks
Hi,
Take a look at http://www.im-history.com
It's an application that save your history from many IM Clients (including Messenger). And there is a client for WM too.
IMO it's a great idea, and free...

I was convinced that I saw a version for Windows Mobile on the forums of IM-History, but I can't find it now.
If I find it I will let you know.
Sorry for the false alarm.

Any chance of links? All I can find so far are dead links or direct links to the 2.0 pay version.

Thanks but your version does not syncing with the PC like Wm SMS SYNC does.
I am sorry guys. But I wiped my whole download dir last week forgetting about this app.Maybe it is still available on the net.
Anyway. It did go commercial so I don't think the programmer wants me to spread an old free copy around. Neither I am allowed by XDA, I think to do so.
Found a similar app as WM SMS Sync, Efficasoft's Mobile Express freeware.
http://www.efficasoft.com/mobileexpress/index.html
Features
Manage Text Message (SMS) Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Send Items, Deleted Items.
Send, reply and forward text messages directly from desktop PC.
Supports text message delivery notification request.
Export text messages to txt file in chat-history style.
Organize (add, edit, delete, find) phone contacts.
Synchronized text messages automatically - NO NEED TO MANUALLY 'REFRESH'.
New text message arrival tray notification.
Requirements
Windows 2000, XP, 2003 with ActiveSync installed.
Windows Vista with latest version of Device Center installed.
Windows Mobile Smartphone or Pocket PC (2003, 2003 SE, WM5 and WM6).
Thank you Hendrixus

Windows Mobile SMS Sync 2.0
Hello,
Windows Mobile SMS Sync did go commercial however the new 2.0 version includes a number of really intresting features that set it apart from other the freeware and other commercial applications available. One of the key new features is that you can sync up to our secure server and then restore your messages from our secure server to a new Windows Mobile device.
While it is no longer available as freeware, I would happily give some xda-developers readers free copies of the software in exchange for their feedback. Feedback from the sort of technical users that frequent these forums would be worth more to me than the $10 application fee which I am sure few of you would be willing to pay anyways - you are definitely not the target audience for this application.
If any of you are still looking for a solution to your text message backup needs, please reply here or email me at [email protected] and I will provide you a coupon code to download the application for free. In exchange, I just ask that you provide me with a somewhat detailed analysis of the application and your expierence.
Thank you,

skype no longer available for wm6.5, where can I get it?

I have searched all over this site but could not locate the skype for windows program. I went to skype but it no longer supports the 6.5 wm device so they say they removed the link/download.
does anyone have it? or could let me know where I can get it now?
and now a bigger, more stupid question, how do I load it onto my HD2?
My HD2 is brand new but because I have windows 7 and outlook 2010 in 64 bit I cannot sync my data with wmdc, will I need wmdc to install apps and programs like skype?
this site looks very informative and I will be coming back often in the future, any help with this would be appreciated.
thanks in advance.
Here it is my friend...
http://tinyurl.com/y2nrwyp
so I downloaded it directly to the phone, btw, I have a HD2 TMOUS model and could not find it. so after doing a search it I located it and clicked on it to try and install it. it has an error message that says,
"skypemobile is not a valid pocket pc application."
now what can I do????
Install skype mobile on your PC, then active sync with connected telephone to PC will do the rest!
