HUH?!?! Works amazing on my Diamond!!!
Thanks for the update! Is there anyway to transfer all my bookmarks from Opera Mini 4.2 to this new browser?
When install it say that "No working network connection detected", but i have wifi connection. Can someone help me?
Would be great to not having to launch jbed everytime... Anyway to make an icon in the startmenu to launch Opera mini... I have it set up for the previous Opera mini but with an ugly icon, this new version seems to have a new fresh icon aswell...
wow 1000x .... just got to try it to believe it. now.. how do you make this a shortcut, or better yet the default browser.
Can install it on a winmo 6.5.1.
Receive an error message regarding authorisation failure !!!
Any Idea ????
Any idea how to make the clock that was in 4.2 reappear?
I just can't beleive this!!!!! why does it even need to have opera mobile now.....
Its just near to perfect, beleive me!!
It's very good but unfortunately doesn't seem to have an option to sync bookmarks like the old one did. Also, I'm not sure how to create an icon for it. Anyone know?

might i remind you that this is a beta.. this is exactly what betas are for, to demonstrate the concept and then apply changes according to the majority's requests.
It's really good and fast.
Problems:
1) not so easy to zoom in sometimes. Maybe it's just me, i don't know, but in some pages I cannot zoom in.
2) when you zoom in, the text doesn't auto fit the screen as the opera 9.5 does. So you have to pan to read articles especially in portrait mode.
Maybe somebody know how I can delete page from speed dial from Opera 5 beta?

has anyone extracted the files needed for threaded SMS WM6.1 yet? I found the IE cab with zoom. works on the Hermes, but is slow.
Chris
Nope sorry, but hows the IE install? Better worth it or?
You have a link?

Well it looks the same except for the zoom, which works ok. Opera Mini is the fastest/easiest to use, NetFront 3.5 is a close secound except it drags the whole phone to a crawl(processor issues), Opera 8.65 is 3rd but doesn't zoom like mini opera/netfront/WM6.1 IE.
It does replace your current IE, so I haven't tried to uninstall since I have a feeling it will require a hard reset.
Mainly it's slower compared to my older IE. Otherwise it works well with 3G/Wifi. Well here it is I can't find the link where I found it so please don't thank me for the file.
Chris
waiting for this cab too. hope someone can extract it for us.
i can do it if someone tells mw what files i need in the cab
Hi,
Someone the sms software from wm 6.1 extracted?
I do not mean the internet explorer but sms.
Here was once a link, but I think it no more.

Has ever seen the link?
That would be awesome to find that cab until 6.1 smartphone edition is found.

I'd love to have this as well.
Or, if anyone can point me to a good free threaded SMS that has no issues on a Hermes, that would work as well.
Have no need for PIE.
Just make a custom WM6.1 ROM and flash it.
If I knew how to do something like that, I might.
I like my phone setup just like it is, minus wanting that app.
The new pie works great
Wicked fast on my sprint touch 6900 thanks to whomever did this...
How do I change the default home back to the touch page?
Thanks in advance
timdawg
Bump in anticipation that someone has got it.
I tried shogunmark's palm, but I uninstalled it after a few minutes.
guess it's not possible to extract it?

Will this cab work on WM6 Standard or is it only for WM6 Pro/Classic?
Roland
I've only tried it on WM6 pro. I would do a backup and then give it a shot. It should work for you.

Installed it on my Vox, but was unable to brows the web using it as I kept getting a no free memory error.
Roland
Anyone managed to get the threaded sms .cab yet???
Im looking for someone else!!
Thanks guys! (btw, that feature is awesome! (Using it on my Hima WM 6.1!!)
TxtMan is a threaded SMS program for Windows Mobile 5.0+. It sends and receives text messages (SMS) and displays the messages as a conversation, like an instant messenger client. Not much of an eyeCandy though

Many small image changes to clean up theme
No functional changes
This is a significant change due to the number of changes and the overall effect of a more coherent theme, so I recommend it if you have the first version.

Is there really any benefit in using opera mobile over mini. I have the sprint touch with opera mini and it is blazingly fast compared to opera mobile. I think I just going to stick with opera mini but I would like to know is how can I get rid of that awful start page, I just want google to pop up when I start it and not that startpage
@kryptoniteman
For most, Operamini is fine for general surfing. Opera mobile is a much more feature rich browser... for instance, on Mini I can't access my work website and download my work schedule... something I need to be able to do. Now that the new Opera Mobile series navigates like Mini, you get the best of both worlds imo.
If you think about it, all Mini 4 is a beta test for Mobile 9.5 navigation.
If you just do general surfing and want the best free browser out there, go with Mini.
If you want the best browser all around, go with 9.5. The interface is actually better on Mobile, the navigation is as good as Mini, and you get a much more complete browser. Paying for Opera Mobile is a no-brainer for me. The browser IS that good and I want the people at Opera to keep doing great work.

Thank yout, I really like you skin very much ... am i getting you right, that you will expand the menu? i think there is space for one more button ... in my oppinion the most usefull button is zoom out. could you add this please?
@therealholg
I agree that would be nice. I've only made graphics changes so far. I won't be able to change the *.exe or *.dll files, so do expect any miracles. I probably overstated the "major" change on my previous post.
I'm starting to go through the *.ini and *.css files to try to optimize, adjust and make better. ETA... this weekend I should have a new update. I'm going to try to scrub it good. Any suggestions here would be great.
These will be tweaks more than any huge changes... adding a zoom function probably can't be done at my level , but I'll look.
Now it has become the best browser on windows mobile up till now
stupid question: I'm absolutely new to Opera, and I've never seen the .cab format before. How exactly do I install this?
And, more important: Is there a version of this for 9.6?

IF you cant install it, just terminate the process Opera9.exe, then copy the two files to your \Windows

Or install the below .cab

Uh... really? The latest one I saw was 28XX... we made the small jump to build 15086?
ya! I heard the newest one is build 15200
possible to just upload the exes needed for upgrade?
also, anyone have reasons to upgrade?
is this version noticeably better than 2808?
thanks

Does it work with single touch devices like the Dell Axim x51v?
will this work for qvga
I suppose not for qVGA..
Reegards,
Carty..
Works fine on my HTC Diamond. True, Opera About shows Build 15086.
Didn;t notice any big changes but maybe there are some under the hood improvements for performance. The initial loading screen is no more.
Regards,
Carty..

ditto but works on my TP, can anyone else confirm that this version doesn't support flash? i tried it, and it didnt load any properly. seems speedier thus far.. iphone.facebook.com and iphone google reader are faster..
Works pretty good.
Placed the cab in windows file, exec'ed it, and it seems like it upgraded w/o problems. I don't see 2 Opera icons like I did with some other versions.
Working great on imate ultimate 9502.

I can confirm that you loose flash capability. It did not come back even when I placed the Adobe Flash drivers back on my ATT Fuze. I would not upgrade to this version at this time.

Try this CAB file, linked in the first post of this thread: Opera Mobile 9.5 Build 15086
This CAB will only replace the OperaL.exe and Opera9.exe! This is all you need to update your Opera installation!
But note: you will lose the ability to view Flash content within Opera Mobile 9.5, if you install this update!!!
Upgrade method...
Asus p535 QVGA...
Much faster than 2808...
BUT FLASH DOESN'T WORK

I upgraded on my Fuze, Did noticed a noticeable shakiness when panning through websites.
Works great even with hardware keyboard - FINALLY!!!
But, one dumb question:
Is there any way to disable zooming by SmartTouch (or how the wheel on Diamond/Touch Pro was named)? Sometimes when I open QWERTY and close again, it don't work and wheel not zooms but works like arrow up (clockwise) or arrow down (counter cw) - and this functionality I prefer. But I don't know how to disable zooming by wheel forever. Anyone knows? Please...
I think zooming by wheel is the worst function in Opera Mobile
My latest venture - an icon based favourites web app for mobile phones. Feedback gratefully received.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Could you explain?
well like in firefox or IE at the address bar there is the symbol to the left
and in favorites it is there as well and it just finds it without any user actions you know?
I believe he means having the web app automatically grab web page icons and use them instead. Good idea, but unfortunately web page icons aren't the same dimensions.
I think this web app is a novel idea, but I find some of the icons rather ambiguous. The icons do have alternate text seen by hovering the cursor over them, but that doesn't help much when it cannot easily be seen on a Windows Mobile device, or any other mobile device for that matter. Perhaps you could allow up to ten characters of text underneath each icon.
Thank you! Thats great!
can ne 1 help me with this.
which will be the best browser for Diamond.
with
1. fast browsing,
2. flash support,
3. lest time consuming,
4. Easy interface
5. ne thing more
lets discuss this !!
I use Opera Mobile 10. For me it is the best (Opera Link, Turbo, good rendering), but I don't use flash.
thanks 4 this reply what abt opera mini
Opera Mini is also good, but I don't like the way it handles form fields and input. I think it is a little bit faster, but it renders pages with less "PC-like" way. It's not big difference, but I prefer Opera Mobile.
I think uZardWebP could be also worth try, but somehow I never really tested it.
Opera MINI 4.2
as for my concern that Opera Mini 4.2 is the best browser in the sense
1. Faster
2. Quick links (can be synchronize for later use - even u format the device)
3. Taking small resource
regards
Today i tried uZardWebP and i like it very much !!!
-Flash
-Fast
-Screen rotation
i love it !
Opera is good too but doesn`t have a flash player ...
Cheers and sorry for my english if something is wrong
I use diamonds default opera mobile 9.5. It supports flash and you can zoom by rotating your finger on the middle button. Also oit is very fast and uses small resources. (While it is minimized I can navigate with iGO or play NFS Undercover)
