Hero keeps unlocking in pocket - Hero, G2 Touch General

And its doing my head in!!!
how can i resolve this ???

That propably happens because the phone can be unlocked by pressing the menu button twice (you don't have to slide the screen).
Maybe it helps if you set up screen unlock patterns in security settings.

Trinity unlocks itself

I frequently lock my Trinity by clicking on the power button briefly, but whenever I get a text message or any kind of alert, it unlocks itself - so if it's in my pocket the buttons can get pressed accidently. Anyone know how to stop this from happening?
Thanks
key lock is on?
in start-settings-system
and "lock" ?
in start-settings-personal
yeah, i don't want to lock-up the device so much that I have to go through menus or enter passwords to unlock it, just have the keys locked until I press the start key again. Is this possible to do?

Screen lock unusable?

With all that screen to touch, having this thing wake up in your pocket (or holster in my case) it bad - it registers keypresses all over the place, and so far it's deleted appointments and other fun stuff for me.
There is the screen lock (hold down right-most softkey a few seconds) but for me at least if an alert wakes the phone, the screen activates and looks normal, but all hardkeys are disabled. Can't even shut the phone down, have to hit the soft reset button, so conveniently located under the battery cover (argh, talk about dumb design choices...)
So anyone have any ideas on the screen lock? I'd even be willing to dedicate the left-most soft-key long-press to a third party lock, as long as it works properly.
u can use s2u2 IPHONE like screen lock
Hold the hang up button to lock, to unlock press the word unlock and a screen will apear saying To unlock device Tap unlock.
Yeah I did that, the hold hang up button thing... that's what's partly unlocking itself, which is a pain to say the least.
Gonna try Throttlelock. Haven't found any really Manila-lookalike skin yet but it seems to do what I want - lock the device - and even adds a little security.
And what about just clicking once on the power button after locking the device using the hold hang up thing?
Doesn't it does what you need? Press again to wake up the mobile?

No, what happen is: I hold down end call to get the device to lock. Then I tap the power button to close down the screen too.
However, a reminder kicks in and that brings the screen back online AND live, so touching it can do stuff. But, the device is still somehow "locked"... except the only thing that is well and truly locked are all the buttons. Power button, volume buttons, even the softkeys on the front, none of them do anything, but the screen works only too well.
There is now way I found to recover from that state except a soft reset. That boots the device - in locked mode, so I have to hit Unlock and then tap the button on the middle of the screen.
I need a lock that is lock, ie it doesn't activate the screen or buttons no matter what, until I unlock it myself. Looks like Throttlelock may be the answer though.

Handy SleepOff Button

How many of you have faced the problem:
The power button is too out of reach to bring the phone out of standby. I used Xperia x10 earlier and the phone will show the lock screen once the middle button is pressed.
However for the Desire HD, i have to somehow press the annoying power button for it to display the lock screen.
Cant there be any other button which can shopw trhe lock screen cuz to reach the power button is not so handy.
Set your screen timeout to something quick. It will lock itself then.
I don't really have this problem as have biggish hands, but I can imagine what it'd be like.
Locking is not the issue.
Unlocking is the issue. To bring the phone out of standby and to show the slide to unlock screen, one has to press the "OUT OF REACH" and designed to "AVOID ACCIDENTAL" press button at the top.
I mean the top button is already a accidental press proof position. It really is a task to first press it ans then unlock the phone. Thats 2 procedures just to make a call.
Can some one mod this?

[Q] Unlock phone over menu buttons

Is there option to unlock phone over menu or volume buttons?
I need two hans when going over power on/off button. I saw this option
ro.config.hw_menu_unlockscreen=false
It is in /system/build.prop file and I change it but nothing happens.
Grateful
I guess this option is for hardware buttons only (like the Galaxy)
In order to be able to unlock with the menu/home/etc buttons, since they are capacitive, the screen should remain powered which uses battery
Not sure, but this should be it...
If you want to UNLOCK the phone, you can install widgetlocker and u can unlock it with the "back" soft button (first one with the arrow thing) if you hold it for a certain time. I set mine to 2 seconds.. so for me to unlock the phone I can either slide from the screen or hold the soft button for 2 seconds (you can set it whatever time u want)
If you mean... turn on the screen (not actually unlock) then.. I dont know.

Click to collapse
thats the thing I was looking for! I put my volume buttons to turn power on and Back button to unlock. Now I can even add apps and use notifications on unlock screen. Really useful!
Only concren is battery usage since widgetlocker runs in background all the time..
Don't worry about battery usage. I personally have been using it for ages and so far.. I didnt see much of a difference from when I was using the stock one.
It doesnt matter if the program is IN MEMORY, just because it's sitting theer it doesnt mean that it's using CPU (draining battery) it just its there in the memory waiting for the LOCK event to trigger
Enjoy.

Camera button in lock screen unblock my phone, is that right?

With AOD enabled, can any try this steps and let me know if I have changed some security option on my phone and if so which one?
- Having AOD enabled
- Press the square button on the screen so you go to the unlock screen
- Swipe the camera button
- Press the back arrow on the screen
Is your phone unlocked?
Nope still locked
It will unlock if it sees my face, which is registered, but otherwise, it stays locked.
