ZAGG invisibleSHIELD Full Body Coverage any good? - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Hi!
I have just bought an HTC Magic and I am looking something to protect it, and found this thing:
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
On the video it seems promissing, has anyone tried it?
Does protection worth the $25?

I would not get it for the screen. It is a very rubbery feel and not smooth. For the back it would be good, but again it has a thick rubbery feel.
If you don't mind that then go ahead.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/tortri/3890716380/

Can't see the movie, there is an error.

I have been googling about it, and it seems that it is not so good as they say:

I guess the bestskinever is better than invisibleshield and much more cheap:

liquid screen protector

Hello all,
Does anyone know about this ? NanoTec liquid screen protector for HTC TyTN II ... it is on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170165611690
what do you think?
looks like a one still needs a screen protector !!!
Smells like bull**** to me.
Looks more like a glorified cleaning kit with some buzzwords like 'nanotech' on the packaging.
IMO, It would be very difficult for a spray-on product to have a uniform thickness and consistency. If it's not bonding in some way to the digitizer (topmost) layer then it's not doing much, and something that bonds permanently to that layer is even less preferred.
Also, the lack of any reviews online makes it smell like a scam. You would think with a 'new' 'revolutionary' product like this that the manufacturer would be aching to get it into the hands of a reviewer, or in the very least a preview on one of the major tech sites.
Now that I've looked closer at the auction/ad the spelling mistakes do not convey a high level of confidence.
Best to stick with a known reliable REAL screen protector such as Boxwave, Martin Fields, or PPC Techs.
To the original poster,
I ordered that exact product, the nanotech liquid protector.
All I can say is that I noticed no difference at all after the application. The products 'nano' particles make a 'nano' difference.
If you're expecting something spectacular, you'll be disapointed like I was
I will soon be buying the invisible shield screen protector which is very highly recommended.
thank you ...

Mine just won't scratch, ran my keys across one day to test. It leaves a mark, not quite a scratch...but within seconds theres nothing there?
Its kinda like the terminator movie when they shoot T2...it just grows back hah

After reading the numerous complaints about the invisibleshield screen protector being rubbery and compromising the 'touchscreeniness' of ones device, I have opted for the Martin Shields protector which seems to receive less complaints. I ordered one yesterday. It came to about £10 inclusive of airmail delivery.
This is the quote about the invisibleshield screen protector which caused me to conclude it is unsuitable for my TyTN II: 'The Invisibleshield is good but it depends on the application. For the Tilt I think it's not a good application (screen protector) as others have said it's not very responsive'

I posted that quote you have up there. This is just my opinion. I do have the invisible shield on other devices and they work well. What I would recommend to you is try it out and if it doesn't work to your needs, they will refund your money no questions asked. Can't beat that in my opinion.

Screen "scratchability"

Some of you people may find this gayish but I am worried about how "scratchable" is the screen?
Ok, I can live with the fingerprints, simply wiping the device from time to time, but having some scratches on that marwellous screen would be a real disaster.
So far I can rank some devicer in terms of hardness of their screens' plastic:
1) iPhone (some kind of glass or smth.. hard to scratch)
2) HTC Diamond / PRO (plastic, but pretty hard though)
3) SE Xperia X1 (plastic, but i get the feeling of nearly scratching it with my nails)
So, where would you guys think the Touch HD would be?
PS: while answering, please omit alternatives of using screen protection film. Looks ugly and the efects a very manufacturer-dependant.
Thank you.
anyone?........
gayish...???
gayish...??? what is that???
Not sure how you can expect accurate feedback on this (i.e actual resistance to scrathing rather than just a feeling) without someone actually testing it (possibly accidently) on thier lovely new gadget
Also:
"PS: while answering, please omit alternatives of using screen protection film. Looks ugly and the efects a very manufacturer-dependant."
To be honest, a well designed and well applied screen protector is practically invisible (imho). Particularly with flush devices, since you don't get the edge around the recess.
I just applied one to the wife's iPhone a couple of months back and she did not even notice it. But she also dropped the phone the other day and I think it's time to order a new protector. Perhaps the screen would have survived scratch free, but I'd rather not take that chance
Zuber
Just my thoughts, Zuber.
A good screen protector, applied carefully, with patience! is a great thing! I use the Javoedge screen protectors and they are excellent. Doesnt even feel as if its there!
Just put one on my wife's iPhone yesterday, and there is no difference between using the device with the screen protector, and its not looking one bit different to "without" it.
I've tried the GadgetShieldz for my HTC Touch HD and it's really good, it installs quite fast and I paid $13.50 for two units. I will be testing my keys on it later today. Check it out:
http://www.gadgetshieldz.com/smartphones-pda.html
Nails will definitely not dent it!
scratchable
I scratched my screen after about a week. Best I can figure is it was on a metal rivet in my jeans just above my pocket... the scratch drives me crazy. I bought a replacement screen cover for about $20 and I'm waiting for the weekend to install it. There are many examples of these on ebay, here is one.
Dont' have a lab that can do experiment and tell you the hardness....but one thing for sure, HTC screen is scratch resistant. Had it for 6months, kept my screen sparkling clean all the time by cleaning it with microfibre cloth everyday. Till now, not a single scratch can be seen...happy with it!
Was in a Mac shop once, the iPhone sales person demonstrated the hardness of iPhone sceen by scratching with a pair of Scissors. Any dude dare try this on THD???
All that I've done so far is to take a coin and scratch a THD dummy display set in the shop. Absolutely no issue.....and I believe the dummy screen is the same as the real device.

Zagg
I just bought my wife an iphone (2nd hand) which came with a Zagg shield (the whole phone not just the screen). Amazing stuff, seems unscratchable. The only thing with the full body shield is that it is impossible to get on 100% perfectly.....still....it's staying on and after a year (that's how old the phone is) the shield doesn't have a mark on it. There's a youtube video of someone scratching an iphone up with a set of keys and then attempting the same on one with a shield. Check it out...I was impressed.

best screen protector for fuze?

i plan to use a pouch type case for my fuze, but i need a screen protector that the corners, etc. won't start coming off with normal use.
if anyone has suggestions, let me know. And has anyone used the invisisheild inside a pouch case or without? if so, any feedback/advice is much appreciated

I´m using this ones since long time and work for me very good: http://www.boxwave.com/products/categories/screen_protectors.htm
Also know about this ones:http://proporta.com/search.php?q=protector+de+pantalla
Hope it helped,
I'm using Bodyguardz, and have been very impressed by both the quality and customer service. Invisible Shield's are good too, and I've used them before, but the Bodyguardz beat them in my opionion.
http://www.bodyguardz.com
I have used bodyguardz on my TP and invisible shield on my Tilt. I liked bodyguardz better since they actually give you 2 sets of full body protectors. also, the invisible shield version of the Tilt had a horrible fit. Also, I recommend using a different protector for the screen itself (I used the one that came in the box). the ones that come with bodyguardz and IS ruin the feel of the Touch Screen. In my opinion, it makes the screen have a slight rubbery feel to it. I also find, that response isn't as good. However, it BG protects the restof teh device pretty well.
I've been using the ones from boxwave since I got an axim x51v. Last time I ordered something from them, they never shipped it
I was considering the invisible shield, but it sounds like bodyguards is worth a shot.
I'd stay away from the Invisibile shield. The touch feels very rubbery, I threw it away the first week.
I've read some good reviews on Martin fields.

I already got the bodyguardz. Haven't got a chance to put it on the phone yet. You have to spray some stuff on it before applying to the phone, and they recommend not using it for 24 hours after applying. They can't be serious, how the hell am I not gonna use my fuze for a day? I'm sure i'll find a way to eventually, or the bodyguardz will sit in the top of my closet collecting dust.
i got the boxwave crystal clear. imo its pretty dang good, super clear, easy to apply, no bubbles...if you like the one that came with the fuze this one is like it. possibly more slippery i dont remember but really good. only thing is i paid for 3-5 day shipping and according to usps they got it the next day but the thing didnt get to my doorstep till 13 days later

What probably happened was the shipper printed a label and by doing so notified the Postal Service it was ready for to be shipped. However, that doesn't always mean the shipper ships it out the same day.
I have been using this protector I bought on Ebay... I bought a 3 pack back in January and still only using the 1st protector. I use my Fuze a lot and this protector is not peeling back or anything. Here is the link:

Screen Protector

Still sitting with my mogul....
dreaming of the EVO....with that nice big screen!
I have always used a screen protector with the mogul....and the ppc6600 before that....
I always ensure that I have the phone in the left pocket (dedicated to itself), screen facing leg.....
are you guys planning on using a screen protector.... or has the tech changed enough that the screens are relatively durable? (as you can tell I have been out of the loop for a while)
if you are buying a screen protector.... which one?
regards
qu1nn
never used a screen protector on my HTC Hero and it doesn't even have a scratch. I'm sure the Evo screen is made of the same stuff as the Hero so you wouldn't need a screen protector.
I'm going to have a screen protector on my Evo, and here's why.
As we all know, glass is very very hard. Harder than most steel that it comes into contact with in fact. That's why keys and razor blades can't scratch glass screens.
HOWEVER, there is one material that can ruin a glass screen, and it's actually the substance from which some types of glass is created. Sand. This is because sand is an abrasive material, rather than just a sharp and pointy object. It might be very unlikely to take this phone with you to a playground, but sand and similar substances can still get in your pocket by other methods.
I think I'd rather take spending a few dollars over running away from any tiny specks that get near my phone.
I'm going to be getting a Boxwave Antiglare as soon as they are available. I have one on my Hero, and it is incredible. Other that my EVO will be naked (just like my Hero). Thank you, HTC, for learning how to make MATTE phones! I am so sick of glossy electronics that attract fingerprints and scratches like crazy.
When we went to get my GFs touch pro 2 from a sprint store,I asked the sales guy not to put on the OEM screen protector. So the douche bag comes out from the back with the screen protector on, crooked, with like 3 bubbles under it. She was so psyched about getting the phone she said it was fine, so we leave and call Sprint.
The tell us they can send us a replacement but we'd have to cut it to fit. I got mad, and couldn't understand why they couldn't send us an OEM. I ended up getting a credit for like 15 bucks anyways.
I swear to god if anyone at best buy even tries to open the box on the Evo I have pre ordered when I go pick it up i'm gonna lose it--
Anyway I've had some great results with the boxwave screenies, both for my vogue and my girls tp2. Use a screen protector, really.

Never dude, after the reviews i have seen on that ****, i will NEVER buy those zagg screen protectors. They make your screen look HORRIBLE, tiny bumps and imperfections everywhere! Don't get me wrong though, they are strong as hell when it comes to scratches!
I usually, whenever i get a new ipod or phone, always get a screen protector and a case. I usually only get a case for ipods since they have the mirror backs, but i always get screen protectors for anything i buy with a screen that i carry around. I like keeping my stuff protected, and really, for a phone i know I'm going to have for a long time, don't want the screen scratched up. So yes, I will be buying a screen protector, but not a case due to the excellent addition of the matte backing, i might buy a case at some point, but likely won't, don't want to block that kickstand!
I like the effect invisible shields leave... That slippery feeling, it leaves a little texture, but that's fine by me cause I hate when I wash my hands and they're not oily enough and I try to use my phone, it just drags and feels uncomfortable. NEVER happens with invisible shields.

At the Evo event in NYC, they showed some upcoming cases. All of them leave a gap for access to the kickstand.
In addition, PhantomSkinz already has the HTC Evo skin up for preorder as well.
From what I hear, those skins are much better and less noticeable than the InvisibleShields.

I was looking at the preorder. Anyone know the difference between a full kit and a matte full kit from experience with other phones?
From what I can gather, the matte skin gives the phone a texture that's just a bit more grippy, much like the matte coating on most HTC phones today.
Unfortunately, that would be a nightmare for the screen. When it comes to touch screens, the LAST thing you want on it is a matte coating. I'd advise against it; I'd rather have the original feel of the phone instead.
Wouldn't they make a matte finish for the rest of the phone, but a non matte for the screen area?

Maybe, but I can't be certain. In any case, look at the experience this HTC Incredible user had with the Matte finish skin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=679610
I ordered Phantom Skinz matte protector Friday from Amazon for $18. This is my first dealing with Phantom Skinz and my order came in yesterday. I actually got 2 x matte finish and 2x regular protectors. I tried the matte out and hated it, so on came the normal and it's nice.

All joking aside: I've had my HD2 for 6 months - very similar, from which I understand, to our upcoming EVO. Since the screen is glass, other than in close proximity to diamonds, it is not going to scratch. Crack, yes, but scratch, no.
The material constituting the front, sides and rear are well made. Mine have neither scratched, peeled or flaked. I take unusually care of my phone, I'll give you that. No back pockets, never dropped and absolutely, positively no diamonds.
Let me add: I've had two T-Mo Shadows, a TP2 and Blackstone, placing an invisi-shield on each. It is a pain in the ass and takes a good deal of time to do right...plus it will affect the feel of the screen - although the screen sensitivity on the HD2 can be modified, so I have no doubt it will as well on the EVO.
Personal preferences, guys, but I wanted to share my experiences with you for whatever it's worth. I'll bill you later.

they must have put that up friday or saturday because i've been looking all week for it. I plan to get one too if I decide to upgrade to the evo.
I read about Clarivue over at wmexperts and they seem to be pretty good. I went ahead and ordered a pair for $12.99 shipped (clear). They also have anti-glare and I suspect they will create a privacy version as they show on their website for other phones (not that I would want one). I am not a big Zagg fan because I like a smoother feel.
http://www.clarivue.com/htc-evo-4g-screen-protector.html
I found the coupon code Clarivue7 over at the retailmenot coupon site which took 10% bringing it down to $11.61. I figured I would give them a try since they have some good feedback and I get 2 for less than 1 Zagg.
A few reviews:
http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/31887-clarivue-ultra-clear-screen-protector-review.html
http://forum.brighthand.com/palm-tx/99733-clarivue-screen-protector.html
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=55053
I'm not really following the 2 for the price of 1 zagg. Unless you have two phones it doesn't live up to the Zagg which has a lifetime warranty on it and should never need to be replaced.

Case for the EVO??

I have been looking around for accessories for the EVO, I preordered mine already, but want to have a case and screen protector on it.
I don't want to take a chance with this thing.
I came across this website which has many skins, and rubberized cases, but am hesitant to order, because I did a search on google, and on another android forum website everyone was giving them bad review, like poor communication, 3+weeks for the item to ship.
Plus they don't use paypal.
If anyone knows a reliable place selling cases please post a link or PM me, and here is the link for anyone who may want to order, also if you have ordered let me know how it went.
thanks

Go on the left and click HTC Evo 4g, then choose cases and all the available ones are their.
Yeah I have been looking myself. It scares me to not have this stuff before I pick my phone up..Normally when I open a new phone there is some kind of plastic already on the screen. Its usually not to pretty but I'll have no choice but to leave it on till I get a screen protector.
Since I don't really see myself slapping this baby on the side of my pants I am trying to find some type of gel body glove or something so I can still put it in my pocket and not add too much bulk.
http://www.htc-evo-cases.com/Snap-On-Crystal-Hard-HTC-Evo-Case-1727.html
I have found only that one so far..
Only problem with that snap on case (which doesn't sound TOO bad) is that it wouldn't ship out until June 21st, 17 days after the Evo comes out... That's 17 days worth of heavy phone usage to get through without a scratch!!!

Apparently I am lost! Does anyone have any info on actual cases? People keep talking about freakin screen protectors! Am I in the wrong topic?
I've clear skinned my last 3 phones (Mogul, Touch Pro, Nexus 1). IMO, it's the best way to protect your phone and still have the "naked" look. Why add bulk and/or hide these beauties with a case? I've dropped each one of them atleast once without ever getting a scratch.
I personally feel a screen protector isnt needed. I got bubbles on the N1 screen protector due to poor installation on my part, so I removed it and haven't looked back since. These screens are very durable and hard to scratch if you use common sense.
The key to a good skin install is follow the instructions and take your time.

Yes, what we are talking about are protective skins. They are clear cases that go on your phone and protect it without adding all the bulk that comes with a big hard case

thank you for clarifying that..i honestly thought everyone was talking about screen protectors..
zagg's product is a screen protector AND has something that fits se seamlessly around the rest of your phone. It is sort of grippy (a little) so it doesn't slip into your pocket extremely easily, but they are nice -not great with a stylus though, b/c, like i said, a bit grippy.
this product was originally designed for military helicopters to cover their blade tips to prevent damage. pretty heavy duty stuff...you barely see it on there, but if you drop your phone, it primarily will keep it scratch free -spotless really. only problem is, it barely protects against impact like other bigger cases might. But its nearly impossible to scratch, nic or chip your phone.
2 things I'm looking for, and hopefully they do it right this time. A sedio front facing belt clip for the evo and an extended battery. what they've ****ed up in the past is making one not compat with the other....
I really want the extended battery experience while at the same time having it being able to snap into my belt like I'm someone god damn important =P
lol that's all I got.
