Hi.
I have an Airtel HTC Magic (India) , need to have google maps on it , although Airtel launched HTC hero in India at a steep 36K Rupees.
I am willing to pay someone to unlock it and get Google Maps on it, since I do not have the time to go through the process.

root it, and then install a custom rom. there are instructions on here how to root the indian magic.
I have rooted my airtel htc magic with Rom-RAv1.1.0H-signed-update then added update.Engineering-SPL-HBOOT-1.33.2010-signed and then added JACHeroski2.7.3-Magic32A_signed everything works fine now have all the google apps but non of them can log in. Even the browser does not open the gmail website. I am using a gprs connetion to access the internet service i can open all the sites except and google sites and hotmail.

I´m thinking about install the blackberry connect on my device (HTC TyTN) and pay for Blackberry Services with Vodafone Spain. Do you think this will work for my hotmail or gmail account or it would be better paying for Real Mail?

Yes it will work, im using it in India with TyTN with Airtel operator and it works pretty well
Don't pay for realmail in VF spain. Instead create a free mail2web account, and redirect your gmail / hotmail / whatever mail account there and use the built-in directpush email.
thank u all men! u tell me 2 use mail2web, I know that's free but everytime it connects 2 retrieve the email or better said, everytime an email arrives at my email account it will cost me, and vodafone Spain rates are not cheap at also, so what do u recommend me?

[APR. 10, 2009] T-Mobile Hotspot Login 2.6.1 (U.S.A) Now works with Starbucks!!
I was browsing through the T-Mobile website and found an update for ATLAS (aka WING).
As some of you may know (those who have the T-Mobile total internet package); You were once able to walk into any STARBUCKS and log into it as a T-Mobile HotSpot and get free WiFi. Then they decided to use ATT as their WiFi provider leaving us T-Mo customers very confused... at least I was.
The fact of the matter is that you can still use your T-Mo login at STARBUCKS and everywhere there used to be a T-Mo HotSpot and now ATT. You just have to log in as a roamer.
Now, You can use tis cab to bypass PIE and connect quicker without wasting so much time.
After trying to install it on my MDA (Wizard) I realized that it would not install on 6.1 (got a message that it was not a supported device)
So I decided to experiment.
I made a new cab out of the packages (it was a cab with 2 cabs inside it all of which were platform dependent)
Now it should work on all ppc devices and maybe smartphone too.

I am currently an exchange student in Germany and I need some help with figuring out a problem with the internet on my cell phone.
I currently have a prepaid card (Call-ya) from Vodafone and I added on the Live! InternetFlat package about a week ago. On my HTC HD2 I have troubles connecting/using certain programs.
What works:
Internet Explorer (can access any website)
Google Maps
YouTube
Marketplace
Facebook
Downloaded apps from the marketplace
What doesn't work is the standard browser, Opera. From it I can only access sites like google and vodafone, I can't even follow a link from google. There is a vodafone "toolbar" that is on the webpages at the top and bottom. This is strange because it doesn't show on IE and I can goto any site when I use it. I can also not recieve/send emails from the HTC mail application through my gmail or yahoo accounts. I also cannot use Skype. Finally, the integrated Youtube and Facebook (data services...so you can see a contact's status etc.) don't work...but the standalone applications work.
I am mostly confused about the Opera part... however I think that Vodafone prevents me from doing email and using Skype because I don't have the two year contract with internet. Can anyone explain this to me and say what limitations there are to this internetflat?
i live near Nepal (near China) and just got my hands on my Nexus one.. i was wondering how i can download apps from the androidlib website from my computer... i do not have data connection on my Nexus one YET but i did try using GPRS data connection yesterday and the phone ate up all my prepaid balance on my fone while downloading the new multitouch update in the background TWICE !! i am still wondering how to stop all unwanted data connection running on the background (i have all sync off in settings) because i dont have unlimited data transfer .. i am thinkin of getting a wi-fi router soon.. LOL... in the Androidlib website there is no DOWNLOAD link except for the QR image even after registering for an account.. and my N1 dont come with a pre installed barcode scanner.. so what are my options ? can someone send me .apk files for the Free Advanced task manager and Home++ .. i need these 2 applications badly at the moment.. And finally is anyone experiencing any battery weakness after the OTA update ?

Find an open US proxy and add it that way. If your Gmail (Google) account was created outside the US, you may need to make a new Gmail account (via US proxy) and add GVoice (via US proxy) to that account. Google uses your IP address when create the account or service to determine location eligibility.
The only way to change your existing account would require you to delete it, wait 7 days, then re-create it from a US IP address.
Works fine in the UK. what country are you in?
